Chapter 1091: Slow Transformation

Fierce Breaker was gone.

Kyle was back.

Did Fierce Breaker die?

No, he simply changed into someone else. The events that took place also happened on Earth, but on a different scale and level. The cells that comprised humans on Earth constantly multiplied. Old ones died, while new ones took their place.

People changed as they grew older. Aside from general appearance, a person's mentality sometimes underwent such drastic changes over decades that they were nothing like their self from decades ago. Values, goals, ideologies, beliefs, and emotions changed, turning a person into a completely different person.

And yet, they were still themselves.

Fierce Breaker had been influenced by Kyle's memories and feelings, and over a long period of time, he had assumed more and more of Kyle's traits.

'Just as the Will of Death has predicted,' Kyle thought. 'A version of me has returned. I am almost identical to how I was when I entered the Gate of Death.'

'Subjectively, I have died. Objectively, I am alive. I am Kyle. I have all of his memories, wants, needs, desires, beliefs, and so on. I even have all of my memories from the Gate of Death. If I were not Kyle, how could I remember things that only I have experienced?'

Himself.

Fierce Breaker and the hammer had both undergone Fusion, which meant all of their Aspects of Power had fused into one. Afterward, their existences had become copies of each other. Their fluctuations and logic had become identical. Energy could easily combine with other Energies, and since their Energies were identical, they could also easily combine.

The hammer and the body had become one, turning two distinct parts into one whole.

'Freedom and control,' Kyle thought. 'When you master both of them, you can make people do things willingly that you want them to do, up to a certain degree.'

'When the Gate of Death appeared, I didn't want to enter, but after talking to the Will of Death, it didn't seem as bad anymore. Now, I am happy that I have entered. I have learned things I couldn't have learned under any other circumstances. I have grown in ways that nobody else can.'

Kyle's mind went through what had happened in the Gate of Death to make sense of how things had developed to this point.

'I died, but my Elemental was still alive. The part of my mind that was assigned to the Elemental survived, and when I comprehended the Major Law of Death, Death didn't influence my Elemental anymore. After all, it also knew the Major Law of Death at that point.'

'My memories were stored inside its mind. However, I've also finished my Law of Hammer, which meant that my Elemental turned into a perfect hammer. This froze my mind in place since the Energy inside a hammer is as solid as it gets. Thinking and living require Energy to transform and change, which is not what a hammer is supposed to do.'

'This created a frozen copy of myself, and I would have remained in this state for all of eternity if Fierce Breaker hadn't turned into me.'

Kyle looked at his surroundings, the Law Well for Immortal Earth.

'It's kinda funny how my state is similar to the state of Immortal Earth,' he thought with a short chuckle. 'The Immortal Earth can simulate life by using perception as a proxy.'

Kyle threw his hammer up before catching it again. 'The same thing is happening here. As soon as I lose the connection with my hammer, it stops living and returns to a frozen state. When my physical body isn't present, it returns to its old state.'

'Luckily, as long as it's within my perception, we are still connected. I don't need to keep physical contact with it, but retaining physical contact also counts as being connected.'

Kyle's brows furrowed. 'Was this Swamp Dragon's plan all along? Well, I don't think this was his plan from the very beginning, but this was most likely what he wanted to happen when his initial plan failed.'

Kyle remembered his conversation with Sebastian. 'He didn't want to tell me about Swamp Dragon's plan since he believed that I wouldn't have followed, and he's right about that. I would have never agreed to something like this.'

Kyle sighed. 'Swamp Dragon most likely told Sebastian that I would return some time in the future, which was why he agreed to the plan.'

'But what now, Swamp Dragon? If you've planned my resurrection, have you also planned your own death? You should know that there's no way that I would leave you alive, right?'

Kyle juggled his hammer a bit as he tried to think about his next course of action.

'I have the power to kill Swamp Dragon. Fierce Breaker had an easy way to contact him. He's also much weaker than I am. I could kill him right now.'

Kyle narrowed his eyes. 'But it's not that easy. As much as I hate to admit it, Swamp Dragon's plan got me into the best position I could be in. Fierce Breaker's transformation into Kyle was so slow and subtle that the Overseer didn't even notice it. It's like a guy slowly growing a long beard. The other people have gotten so used to it that they feel like the guy had always had a beard. Yet, when the guy suddenly shaves his beard, the others feel like there's a completely new person in front of them, even though they had initially met the guy without the beard.'

'She doesn't realize that I no longer Fierce Breaker, and as long as she doesn't start questioning my identity, she also won't notice. Fierce Breaker's subdued aura has also changed into my bright aura. If she were to evaluate me objectively, she would notice that I am turning into a genuine threat to her.'

'Yet, she has seen my transformation. Her first impression of me is still there. She met me when I was just a slightly talented Seeker, and she will keep believing that I'm a slightly talented Seeker as long as I don't give her an incentive to reevaluate me.'

'Swamp Dragon managed to hide me right beneath her nose. In the past, she would have killed me as soon as she saw me, but now, she's ignoring me.'

'If I suddenly kill Swamp Dragon, she will know that something is up. Fierce Breaker wouldn't have done something like that. She would reevaluate me and realize that I am slowly reaching a level of power that allows me to threaten her.'

'I really wanna kill Shit Snake for everything he has done. I want to make him Dragone!'

'For just a moment, Kyle mentally patted himself on the back for coming up with these amazing puns.'

'But I can't do that right now. This is my best opportunity to increase my power.'

'Speaking of, the powers I have gained from this event are crazy!'
