Chapter 1130: Control and Freedom

Kyle thought about what Ayuvar would look like in each scenario.

If Ayuvar belonged to Wargod's Peak, the Mortals would probably live normal lives, while the Seekers would have to join different Sects. The Sects wouldn't lack resources, but conflict was in humanity's nature. There would be wars between Sects, but gigantic world wars would be rare.

If Ayuvar belonged to the Contrast Empire, there would be several powerful empires. Most likely, it would be similar to the Tertiary World but with even fewer resources. Due to loyalty, the emperors would need to remain as Ascendants for as long as possible to protect their legacy. They would also have a great incentive to increase their Battle-Strengths. After all, if they became Immortals, they would only be able to attack their enemies for a couple of seconds before they were forced to ascend.

If Ayuvar belonged to the Grand Exchange, it wouldn't be much different. The Contrast Empire and the Grand Exchange seemed to manage their worlds in similar ways.

With the Array of Stars as the owner, Ayuvar could develop freely. The Immortal Beasts were the only hurdle humanity had to overcome. Everything else would be up to Ayuvar.

With the World Seekers as owners, the world would turn into whatever Swamp Dragon wanted it to be... as long as he was still alive. 99.9999% of beings would have regular lives. The only ones that would be affected were ascending Immortals. After all, there were no powers that would immediately recruit them, which meant they would be dumped into an unfamiliar Supreme World without any support.

Auspicious Karma was a gamble. It could be paradise or hell. However, Swamp Dragon already wanted to create a paradise.

'I'm not voting for Auspicious Karma,' Kyle thought. 'The Contrast Empire and the Grand Exchange are meh. The World Seekers might kill Swamp Dragon...'

Kyle glanced at Swamp Dragon.

Then, he sighed. 'Yes, I still want him dead, but let's be honest. It's difficult to find a better Overseer. Also, even though this version of Ayuvar is not really my home, I still don't want new Immortals to be dumped in the Supreme World just like that.'

'That leaves the Array of Stars and the Wargod's Peak. They're both pretty good choices. The only real difference is the quality of Immortals. The Immortals of Ayuvar would have a much worse life in the Wargod's Peak, but there would be more of them. All in all, if I consider what's best for the world, I should choose the Array of Stars.'

Kyle made his vote.

His primary vote went to the Wargod's Peak, while his secondary vote went to the Grand Exchange.

'But the Array of Stars and the Contrast Empire tried to fuck me, which is why I'm going to try to fuck them as well.'

Sure, Kyle cared about the world, but he didn't care thaaaat much.

"Everyone has voted," the man said. "Let's reveal the results."

Kyle: +2 Wargod's Peak, +1 the Grand Exchange.

Swamp Dragon: +2 Array of Stars, +1 Wargod's Peak.

Sebastian: +2 World Seekers, +1 the Grand Exchange.

Fox: +2 the Grand Exchange, +1 Contrast Empire.

The man: +2 Array of Stars, +1 Wargod's Peak.

The World: +4 World Seekers, +2 Wargod's Peak.

Wargod's Peak and World Seekers were tied at six points each. Both of them had two primary votes.

'Huh...' Kyle thought. 'That's interesting. Funny how things go sometimes.'

Swamp Dragon and the man had voted for the same thing. Both of them believed that the Array of Stars was the right pick, and they were probably right. It protected Swamp Dragon while also giving him a lot of freedom. The Wargod's Peak was an obvious second choice.

While Sebastian seemed much calmer nowadays, he could still be quite cold, as shown by his vote. Voting for the World Seekers meant voting for Swamp Dragon's death without ruining the world. To him, it was the obvious choice. With his second vote, he had gone for the Wargod's Peaks since the Array of Stars and the Contrast Empire had tried to kill him and Kyle.

The world had voted for the World Seekers, which was strange if one thought about it. After all, the World Seekers would constantly attack the World Walls. Yet, one had to remember that it wasn't the World Wall that voted but the united emotions of all the lives, and they only wanted one thing.

Freedom.

With the World Seekers, they would get the most freedom. Only the Overseer would be in a precarious situation. Alternatively, the Wargod's Peak was pretty good as well.

Fox just voted for the Grand Exchange since it seemed like a good middle ground. She didn't like how the Array of Stars and the Wargod's Peak included beasts in their calculations.

The man sighed. "How do we solve this tie?" he asked.

Kyle and Sebastian looked at Swamp Dragon.

There were several ways he could argue for either side. Legally, there was no clear winner. However, morally...

"We are deciding Ayuvar's fate," Swamp Dragon said as he closed his eyes.

The others looked at him.

"Ayuvar's vote should be considered as two primary votes. Its opinion is the most important."

The man looked at Swamp Dragon for a moment. Swamp Dragon opened his eyes and looked at the man with a neutral expression.

The man sighed. "I don't believe this is the right choice," he said, "but I know how you feel. We are all alike."

"Fine, if there are no objections, we'll declare the World Seekers the victors."

Sebastian looked at Kyle, who looked back with a raised brow.

Then, Sebastian showed a content smile.

There was a high chance that Swamp Dragon would rub one of the visiting Immortals the wrong way, which might end his life. Additionally, if Swamp Dragon refused to cooperate, the World Seekers might just sell Ayuvar to a different power, and Swamp Dragon wouldn't have any power over which Organization would get it.

If he wanted maximum happiness for Ayuvar, he needed to stay alive, and to stay alive, he needed to bow his head to every visiting Immortal.

As the Overseer, he had the power to allow and decline entry to Ayuvar. If his guest caused trouble, he would share the blame.

With time, he might even receive a True Sin Aura, depending on how often the World Seekers would send Immortals.

"Then, everyone agrees," the man said with a neutral expression. "The World Seekers get Ayuvar."

As they experienced the current situation, Kyle, Swamp Dragon, and Fox felt something.

This moment felt... foretold.

'As expected,' Swamp Dragon thought. 'This is the moment.'

'This is the picture the Will of Death has envisioned.'

'Freedom and control.'

Sebastian and Melanie were fine with how things had developed.

Fox would still be inside a prison, but it was far better than her old prison. Considering her situation, she was fine with how things had developed.

Ayuvar was more than fine with how things had developed. It had attained as much freedom and peace as it could expect.

Swamp Dragon had made his choice. Being Ayuvar's Overseer would be an eternal duty, but he knew that he couldn't contribute to the greater picture in a better way. He hadn't betrayed his beliefs, and he would try to improve Ayuvar for as long as he remained alive. He was fine with how things had developed.

'All things considered, this is not so bad,' Kyle thought. 'Swamp Dragon and Fox are still alive, but they're not in a great situation. Swamp Dragon is stuck here, and he might die at any time. Even better, it's not even my fault. I didn't vote for the World Seekers. Fox is stuck as some sort of Karmic Slave for a loooooong time, and if I manage to find her, I can kill her. She's basically already dead.'

'Sebastian is still alive. Ayuvar is free. I can ascend in peace.'

'I'm fine with this.'

In Ayuvar, there was only one person who wasn't fine with how things had developed, and that person was the man.

When the Gate of Death had appeared, Ayuvar had been the place of a brutal conflict between two parties. This conflict couldn't have been solved peacefully. One of the two parties needed to die.

But now...

The only member of the conflict who had died was Fierce Breaker, and his death was debatable. One could argue that he was still alive, and even if he were dead, he had died willingly. He had chosen his fate.

Freedom and control.

The Will of Death hadn't used its overwhelming power to change the outcome. It had simply spoken certain words, and these phrases put things in motion.

The conflict had ended, and all parties were fine with how it had ended.
