Chapter 1166: Valuable Treasures
Chapter 1166: Valuable Treasures
Sebastian could hear the disappointment and frustration in Abyssal Depth's voice, and he felt a bit ashamed. He knew that he wasn't weak. After all, he could use twice the amount of Energy a normal Immortal could use due to his Weapon Avatars. If he had access to a Law Well of the Level Eight Law of Lightning, he would also be able to comprehend it pretty quickly.
Sadly, none of that helped if he couldn't even sense his enemy. He wanted to tell Abyssal Depths that he wasn't weak, but he also couldn't just unveil the secret of his power. So, whether he liked it or not, he had to swallow the shame.
"I've never focused on the Primordial Forces before," Sebastian answered. "I don't know how long it will take to comprehend them. We do have savings, which means I don't have to create Energy Stones. I can focus on comprehending the Primordial Force Laws."
"How big are your savings?" Abyssal Depths asked.
"We almost have a hundred Grade Nine Energy Stones in Immortal Metals," Kyle answered. "It's not enough to support his advancement."
"What other things do you have?" Abyssal Depths asked. "You might have some things that are worth something."
"Is there a way to check?" Kyle asked. "Is there some kind of list of valuables and their general prices?"
"There are four ways you can use to sell your wares," Abyssal Depths answered. "One, the internal marketplace of a Higher Supreme Power. Without becoming a member, you have no way to access it. Two, the affiliate marketplace of a power. You don't want to be affiliates, which means you also don't have access to that as well."
"Three, face-to-face trading. You can ask whoever you see if they're interested in your wares, but that might annoy some Immortals. Trading like this is quite risky since many Immortals are just looking for a reason to make the Karmic Punishment for killing you lighter. Just holding up a sign or telling your Communicator to broadcast your wares is easier, but not many people look for these kinds of frequencies."
"Lastly, you can use the general marketplace of Wild's Summit. They buy basically everything, but they will pay you only 50% of the value. The good news is that they don't lie. If you have some kind of rare treasure, they will tell you how much it is worth."Kyle sighed. '50%.'
"Guess we're going with the general marketplace," Kyle answered before looking at Sebastian, who nodded in agreement. "Do you still have Comprehension Fruits?"
"Some," Sebastian answered. "I might need more if I want to comprehend the Primordial Force Laws in a reasonable timeframe."
"With Comprehension Fruits, you might finish in just 200,000 years," Abyssal Depths answered.
"Are they worth anything?" Sebastian asked. "We have more."
"Depends on the grade," Abyssal Depths answered. "There are different kinds of Comprehension Fruits, and it's hard to distinguish their grade if you don't know how. You should ask in the marketplace."
"Sure," Sebastian answered. "Anyway, we're gonna check out the market. We'll update you."
Abyssal Depths nodded as Kyle and Sebastian used the menu to teleport to the marketplace.
As soon as the two of them arrived in the marketplace, they saw tens of thousands of Immortals who were just standing around. Their Communicators were spreading a certain signal that described their wares and their prices. In the middle of the marketplace was a platform with ten Immortals. These Immortals wore the bloodred uniforms of the Wargod's Peak.
Above each of them was an emblem with stored information. The emblem was being updated every minute with new prices, and it basically contained information about any kind of valuable item someone could buy or sell to a certain degree. Exceptionally valuable treasures were not listed.
As Kyle read through the list, his eyes widened. He had often heard about natural treasures, but he hadn't truly been in contact with them. He also didn't know what exactly made them valuable.
Some of the things were self-explanatory. For example, Comprehension Fruits, metals, Gravity Cores, weapons, and Formation Array materials. However, there were also plenty of new things.
For example, why were the bodies of Immortal Beasts actually worth something? Nobody used their materials for weapons or armor, and basically every Immortal could create stone and metals to build things. Why would anyone buy the body of an Immortal Beast?
The reason was that the body of an Immortal Beast could be broken down into several valuable things. Some bones and kinds of blood were useful materials for Formation Arrays. Their flesh and organs could be consumed to gain Energy. Consuming an Immortal Beast was similar to consuming a Grade Nine Energy Stone. Anything that was left over could be converted into Vortexes.
The last time Vortexes were relevant to Kyle was when he had been a Rarity Hunter. Elemental Vortexes appeared on newly formed Planets. They could be used as alternative fuel to keep an Artificial Law Well running. With enough of them, one could also create a new, self-sustaining Law Well, but to achieve that, one needed an insane amount.
There were also Space Distortions. Sometimes, natural Space Tears appeared in the Immortal Dimension, and if one had access to the right Formation Arrays, one could harvest the source of the Space Tears. These Space Distortions could be used like Gravity Cores but for the Law of Space.
Time Distortions were also a thing, but they occurred exceptionally rarely in nature. Almost all of them were artificial. An experienced Formation Array Master could combine Gravity Cores and Space Distortions to create Time Distortions.
The marketplace also sold World Weapons, a unique kind of weapon made by Inner World. Using one of them allowed the user to push their weapon-based Imposing Law further. The cheapest ones, which were already quite expensive, supported an Imposing Law Quality of 91%, while the best ones supported 99%. However, the best ones were only available to the internal members of Inner World.
Natural Trial Entry Tokens were also sold, but their prices were sky-high. Kyle had once been in one when he had been a Primal. Naturally, these Trials also existed in the Immortal Dimension.
Mixed Earths were relatively valuable. Earth could be combined with other Elements to create new kinds of Earth, which were necessary materials for some Formation Arrays.
There were also Energy Cores, which were basically naturally occurring Energy Stones. They sometimes formed within Planets in the Immortal Dimension, and due to the constant movements of the Planets and Planet Chains, they sometimes appeared near the surface.
Some Immortals sold partnerships they had established with weaker Organizations. By owning such a Sponsor Certificate, one could harvest almost all of the positive Karmic Luck created by the weaker Organization.
As Kyle looked through the list, he found five objects that were especially interesting.
Law Immersions were natural treasures that acted as consumable and portable Law Wells. As long as someone looked at it, they would feel like they were inside a Law Well. Law Immersions were exceptionally valuable.
Array Corroders could corrode Formation Arrays, and Energy Breakers could turn Elemental Energies into Energy. Kyle wasn't interested in them due to their functions, however.
'I think they're made with Energy that mimics Death. They're made with the Law of Minor Death. At least, I think so. I hadn't expected that the Minor Law of Death could also be marketed in the Immortal Dimension.'
Then, Kyle's eyes fell onto the last two items.
Time Compressors were consumables that sped up time around the user by ten times. They easily broke, which meant they couldn't be used during battle. Speeding up time during battle was exceptionally useful, but outside of battle, it was useless. After all, if time moved faster, the Energy Fluctuations also distorted, making it even harder to comprehend a Law.
However, the same thing wasn't true when it came to creating a Complex Law. After all, one just needed to fuse the Laws.
'If I can buy such a thing, we wouldn't need to wait as long for Sebastian. He would still need to comprehend the normal Laws in the traditional way, but fusing the Laws should be much faster.'
Then, Kyle looked at the last object.
Finally, he knew what he had picked up in the Hero Dimension.
Universe Connectors were crystalline structures of Energy that could connect different kinds of Energy. They were almost exclusively used to connect the Energy of an Imposing Law with the Energy of an External Complex Law.
Using a Universe Connector wasn't possible during battle since it couldn't withstand significant streams of Energy, but it could be used during comprehension. A Universe Connector could vastly reduce the number of tedious trial-and-error experiments.
Creating a Refined Law was still just as hard, but it was much faster. One could liken the creation of a Refined Law to completing a jigsaw puzzle. There were countless pieces one had to search through to find the right one. In this metaphor, a Universe Connector would be like an assistant. The user would type in a specific puzzle-piece shape, and the Universe Connector would highlight all the pieces that fit that shape. If the user typed in the wrong shape, they still wouldn't be able to find the right one. However, if they already knew what they had to do, this tool would allow them to save a lot of time.
