Chapter 1178: Power of Karmic Causality
Chapter 1178: Power of Karmic Causality
Kyle watched the Avatars explode and saw their Karmic Lines destabilizing. Since he knew how Karmic Luck worked, he knew what this represented.
These were unattached Karmic Lines, and unattached Karmic Lines dispersed almost immediately. After all, this kind of path could only exist if it had a start and a goal.
A goal needed a start to exist, but a start didn't need a goal. It was possible to walk with no goal in mind, but as soon as someone walked, there was a start. A unidirectional path could have a start without a goal but not a goal without a start.
Yet, Karmic Lines were not unidirectional paths. Karmic Lines were bidirectional. One end affected the other, and the other affected the one. When one end was destroyed, the path lost a start and a goal. The other side could still have a start, but it wouldn't lead to the same goal.
As the two Karmic Lines began to disperse, Kyle grabbed them with his perception. He forcefully kept them from dispersing, but that only worked for a short moment. The longer he kept them stable, the more the world would try to disperse them.
'The fewer people know about me, the better,' Kyle thought. All of these things happened so quickly that Kyle's attacks hadn't even finished.
Kyle manifested the Karmic Lines in reality, right in the paths of his attacks.
His two hammers hit the Karmic Lines. A physical attack interacted with the physical end of a Karmic Line. The attack had a path. The Karmic Line was a path. The end of the attack's path reached the beginning of the Karmic Line's path. The paths combined. The goal of the attack's path combined with the start of the Karmic Line's path. The two ends canceled each other out, elongating the path.
The attack's path and the Karmic Line's path became one. The start of the attack's path now led to the goal of the Karmic Line's path.
As soon as the hammers hit the Karmic Lines, they vanished. There was no great explosion or dispersal of Energy. It was like the hammers simply stopped existing.Of course, they didn't stop existing. They had simply switched planes. The Karmic Lines acted as a portal between physical reality and Karmic Reality.
The speed of Karma was almost as high as the speed of Energy, which meant it might as well be instantaneous.
The power of Kyle's attack was translated into Karmic Information, which traveled through the Karmic Lines, and when it reached the end of its path, it was dumped into Karmic Reality. Yet, as an attack, it wasn't supposed to exist in Karmic Reality. The rules of Karmic Reality banished the attack from Karmic Reality, throwing it back into physical reality.
The power of the attacks was released at the end of the Karmic Lines, and the Karmic Lines ended where the other Avatars began.
The remaining power of Kyle's attacks materialized directly in front of the Avatars and continued traveling.
If the Avatars were fully prepared with powerful attacks, equipment, Laws, Domain, and Momentum, they might have had a chance to survive. After all, Kyle's attacks had each already gone through the accumulated defenses of one Avatar.
But there were no defenses. How could someone conjure any defenses when an attack materialized directly on their skin? Their body had to resist the attack. Sadly, when compared to the attack of an Immortal, the body of an Immortal didn't count for much.
As long as someone knew the Law of Karmic Causality, killing the first Avatar was more than ten times more difficult than killing all the other Avatars of a target.
Kyle couldn't sense whether or not his attack had worked since it was no longer his own attack. When it had been translated into Karmic Information, it had lost its identity. At that point, it had stopped being his attack.
'But I'm pretty sure that they're dead. It's technically possible to survive such an attack, but not without help. If a powerful Lord were beside them and intervened at the perfect time, they might survive. However, the speed of such an attack is so high, and it appears so suddenly that the Lord essentially has to be beside them and be prepared as soon as the attack has been launched. I don't think they anticipated me knowing the Law of Karmic Causality.'
As Kyle watched the Avatars' valuables appear in the middle of space, he fell into thought.
'Two Adept Immortals. Everyone thinks I'm a Beginner Immortal, but I'm actually a New Immortal. Even with just one Avatar, I would've easily won. Based on what Green has learned, Immortals who can jump two levels basically don't exist. There are very, very few Immortals who can do that, but they are all exceptionally important Chosen from the Higher Supreme Organizations. It's almost impossible to find or meet them since their identities are highly confidential.'
'Immortals who can jump one level are also quite rare. Fewer than one percent of Immortals can jump a level. Anyone who can jump a level will be accepted by any Higher Supreme Organization with open arms.'
'Jumping a level doesn't refer to confidently beating someone of a higher level. It refers to fighting someone of a higher level evenly. Someone who can jump two levels might very well die when fighting someone two levels above themselves.'
'I've just jumped two levels, and it wasn't even a True Battle. Killing them hadn't been difficult. If I had only one Avatar, I would've just destroyed their attacks with one attack before launching another attack at one of them. They would have died, and with my third attack, I would've killed the second one.'
'Killing an Adept Immortal is not difficult at all. Killing a Minor Immortal might be a bit difficult if they have a really strong Imposing or Refined Law. Otherwise, I might just need to launch three or four attacks instead of two.'
'As for a Medium Immortal...'
'That might actually be difficult. If we both fight with just one Avatar, I wouldn't be entirely sure of my victory. This would be an actual True Battle.'
'Assuming I didn't recreate and use my Death Hammer. If I can use my Death Hammer, I would be the clear favorite. Sadly, I can't really use it without exposing myself. I can't count something I can't use as part of my power.'
'Based on that calculation, this means I can jump four levels, I guess.'
'As far as I know, that one guy who managed to become a Unique Ascendant was the only known guy who could attempt to jump three levels. He was pretty confident in beating people two levels above him, but he never attempted to fight someone three levels above him.'
'Guess I'm pretty powerful.'
Kyle looked at the valuables left behind by the two Avatars.
'But I don't really feel that powerful. Why not, though? Shouldn't I feel pride or arrogance or fulfillment or something like that?'
Black flew over to the valuables and pulled them to him.
Emblems, communicators, tokens...
'Yet, all of this just feels... normal,' Kyle thought. 'I don't feel like I'm doing anything special. I'm just doing stuff, and that's it.'
The only things of value were the Formation Array Materials the female Adept Immortal had carried with her. Whenever an Immortal sent an Avatar out, they only gave them what they needed. After all, if that Avatar died, they would lose everything the Avatar carried with it.
Kyle pocketed the Formation Array Materials and left all of the other things behind. Sadly, there were no Formation Array manuals or anything like that.
'Anyway, I should keep going. I still need to find the Cult.'
