Chapter 1191: Good Luck!
Chapter 1191: Good Luck!
A minute of silence passed.
"Sold!" Kyle shouted, and a moment later, 18 Grade Nine Energy Stones and 300 Grade Eight Energy Stones appeared in front of him.
The Space Ring floated silently to one of the people, who went back to their Workshop.
"Next, ten sets of materials for the tenth task," Kyle announced.
Even though there were three people who were stuck at the tenth task, only two of them were currently in the hall. The last one was in their Workshop.
Everyone waited.
Who would get the materials?
"No sale," Kyle said. "I'll be back in a century."
This took the people by surprise.
"We both made offers!" one of the leaders shouted."So?" Kyle asked. "I said that if I'm not satisfied with the offer, I won't sell. I don't have to sell my wares."
"You can't-"
Yet, the guy couldn't even finish his sentence before Kyle moved out of the hall and entered his Workshop.
Naturally, since there were only two people who were interested in the materials, they had talked to each other. Neither of them wanted to pay a fortune for these materials. They offered ten and eight Grade Nine Energy Stones, respectively. The one who had bid higher would just share the materials with the other guy in exchange for five Grade Nine Energy Stones. Like that, both of them would have paid five Grade Nine Energy Stones for five sets.
Kyle heard several knocks on his door, but he ignored them. 'I know how much my shit is worth. You need these materials more than I want your Energy Stones. If you don't want to play nice, I simply won't sell.'
For the next century, Kyle experimented with his Formation Arrays while conjuring materials. Conjuring materials took a long time because it took so much Energy to turn ethereal Energy into permanent, solid matter.
However...
Kyle left his Workshop after a century and went back to the hall.
"We're willing to purchase the ten sets of materials for 15 Grade Nine Energy Stones," one of the leaders transmitted almost immediately. The other guy was inside his Workshop currently.
"Make it 20, and you got a deal," Kyle transmitted back.
"20 is too much. We don't have 20. The most we can do is 17.5."
"Then go get more. It's 20. Take it or leave it."
The negotiations continued for a while, and eventually, a couple of Energy Stones moved to the leader.
"Fine!" he transmitted, annoyed.
The exchange took place, and the leader walked back to his Workshop. Yet, before he could get there...
"The Material Refinement Shop is now open!" Kyle shouted. "Give me Energy Stones now, and in a century, you will get the materials you want."
This immediately drew the attention of everyone in the hall.
"Are you serious?" someone asked with furrowed brows. "The materials are made of all kinds of Elemental Energies. How can you possibly refine all of them?"
"I can," Kyle answered as he summoned another Space Ring. "Ten sets of materials for the tenth task. Does anyone want to check?"
Kyle looked at the leader, who had just purchased the last set of materials.
The leader narrowed his eyes as rage filled his entire being. He felt like he had been scammed!
"Two Grade Nine Energy Stones per set of materials for the tenth task. The price per set is consistent with what you've paid," Kyle transmitted.
This lessened the rage inside the leader, but he was still not happy. The value of these materials was based on rarity, and the more of them there were, the less valuable the materials he had just purchased were.
Nevertheless, the guy took the Space Ring and inspected the materials.
For a moment, the leader considered saying that the materials were fake.
"They're genuine," he said, handing the Space Ring back.
In the end, he decided to speak the truth. After all, what if the ten sets he had just purchased were not enough to get him through the tenth task? If Kyle refused to sell to him, things might become troublesome.
So, how had Kyle created all of these materials so quickly?
He had Energy Stones. That was the reason. Conjuring materials took a long time since they needed a lot of Energy. Yet, by using Energy Stones, conjuration could be expected by several magnitudes. Sadly, conjuring materials used ten times as much Energy as was contained within the materials. Buying materials on the market was far cheaper than making them.
However, there was no market here. Well, that wasn't completely true.
Kyle was the market.
Even with the terrible conversion rate, Kyle still made an absolute killing by turning Energy Stones into materials.
Not many people in the hall spoke, but Kyle got a couple of voice transmissions.
"Since I'm getting this question frequently," Kyle announced, "no, you don't have to pay me when you order. Payment happens when I have the materials. You can make your order right now, and I will deliver your materials in a century. That's when you pay me."
As soon as Kyle said that, the number of orders multiplied. Most of the orders came from people who had fewer than 300 years left to complete their task.
"For an extra fee of 50%, you can get your materials in ten years. Just knock on my door with the payment," Kyle announced. "I've shared all of the prices with you. For now, orders are closed. You can order more in a century."
Then, Kyle walked back into his Workshop as the others started to talk to each other animatedly.
Kyle's services were expensive, but almost all of them were happy that these services existed. Everyone needed materials, and Kyle provided materials.
He was still an outsider, but he was a special outsider. He wasn't like the other outsiders.
Meanwhile, Kyle started to conjure materials. Within just a couple of days, all of his orders were finished, and he returned to his experiments.
Ten years later, a group of people gathered in front of his Workshop. They had been the ones who had paid the premium for faster delivery. They knocked on his door, and Kyle handed them the materials in exchange for payment.
Ninety years later, Kyle went to the hall again to deliver the other orders. When everyone saw Kyle handing out the materials, all their hesitation vanished.
This time, Kyle was flooded with orders.
He conjured materials, exchanged them for Energy Stones, conjured more materials, and so on.
About 700 years later, Kyle made another special announcement. "Last orders. The deadline for my last task is arriving soon. This will be your last chance to order materials."
This time, Kyle remained in the hall for quite a while. Since this was the last time, he was ready to negotiate.
The supply of Grade Nine Energy Stones was not endless. Even though they could conjure Energy Stones faster, conjuring them still took up valuable time, which could be spent learning about Formation Arrays. To squeeze every last drop out of the Screening, Kyle gave several discounts on materials.
After some minutes, he went back to his Workshop and finished the orders.
The last express orders were handed out ten years later, and the last common orders were completed another 90 years later.
"Well, that's it," Kyle said to the people in the hall. "It was a pleasure doing business with you."
"Thank you!" someone shouted.
"Thank you for your services!"
"Things will become much harder without you!"
"If I get through this, you can search for me! Maybe we can make a couple more deals. My name is..."
"My Communicator number is..."
"Hey, if you need anything, just call..."
"I'm willing to teach you some stuff in exchange for materials. My name is..."
"If anyone ever makes trouble for you, tell me! I'll teach them a lesson!"
"We're going to miss you!"
These were not only voice transmissions but also public shouts.
Kyle just smiled as he remembered all the contact details he had received.
"Thank you for your hospitality!" Kyle shouted with a smile. "I wish you good luck with the Screening!"
This got a chuckle out of the crowd.
Wishing people with True Sin Auras good luck...
Sure.
Then, for the last time, Kyle went back to his Workshop.
'Time to submit my last Formation Array.'
