Chapter 1212: Amends

Chapter 1212: Amends

Kyle sighed. "It's your Vision of Destiny. You can have all of it, but in exchange, I want the loot distribution for the remainder of our alliance to change more in our favor."

Abyssal Depths furrowed her brows when she heard Kyle's words. This seemed like a horrible trade.

"Thank you," the Leader answered, performing a short bow of deep respect. "We are willing to reduce our share of future loot to 10%."

'They must've found something insanely valuable if they are willing to go that low,' Kyle thought. 'Hope I didn't make a mistake.'

"I accept," Kyle answered.

The members of Team Ankylosaurus noticed a burst of positive Karmic Luck. None of them gained a level of Karmic Luck, but they were closer to the next.

'We still have a thousand years of excavation in front of us,' Kyle thought. 'I hope this trade will pay off. Sure, I could've been an ass, but that just doesn't sit right with me. I don't want to do stuff that makes me feel bad.'

Team Wooly Sheep went to the edge of the underground cave and started digging. After digging for about 50,000 kilometers, they started to become more careful. Kyle didn't sense anything out of the ordinary. His Divine Consciousness could penetrate several kilometers of solid matter, but he could only sense regular dirt.

The others became even more careful, slowly unearthing one stone after the other.

When they removed one of the stones, the underground cave became bright as azure light flooded it.

The source of the light was an azure crystal. It looked pure and beautiful, but Kyle's Divine Consciousness couldn't sense anything special. It didn't seem to have any Energy.

Yet, everyone recognized the object.

"What grade is it?" Kyle asked as one of the members of Team Wooly Sheep carefully collected the stone.

"2.1," Spring of Joy answered.

When Abyssal Depths heard that, she frowned with annoyance. Their team had really made a loss this time.

Kyle sighed. "Congratulations," he said.

"We won't forget your kindness," the Leader answered. "We will do our utmost to support you for the remainder of the excavation."

'A Grade 2.1 Energy Core,' Kyle thought. 'This is the first Energy Core I've ever seen, and it's of such a high grade. Crazy.'

Energy Cores were natural Energy Stones. They only appeared in the Immortal and Hero Dimensions. A Grade One Energy Core was worth just as much as a Grade Nine Energy Stone. Yet, a Grade Two Energy Core was worth just as much as a Grade Ten Energy Stone. The value for each grade in Grade Nine Energy Stones could be calculated with a thousand to the power of the grade minus one.

For grade one: thousand to the power of zero, which translated to one.

For grade two: thousand to the power of one, which translated to a thousand.

For grade 2.1: thousand to the power of 1.1, which translated to...

'Almost 2,000 Grade Nine Energy Stones,' Abyssal Depths thought as she tried to remain calm. 'We could have made 1,200 Grade Nine Energy Stones.'

Kyle just sighed again. 'No wonder they were considering circumventing the alliance. That's half of a level for an Adept Immortal.'

"Thank you," Spring of Joy transmitted to Kyle. "You're a good person."

When Kyle heard that, his time as the Overseer in the Tertiary World shot through his mind. At the same time, he also paid a bit more attention to Black's team, which was currently creating materials for the Cult of Final Fate.

"If you say so," Kyle answered.

Spring of Joy just smiled wordlessly.

"What next?" the Leader asked in a loud voice, filled with conviction. "We're yours to command."

"Let's start digging," Kyle answered.

'We have a thousand years left, and I'm going to make use of them,' Kyle thought.

The two teams started digging deeper. They dug for an entire day and reached a depth of over ten million kilometers. During that day, Sebastian and a member of the Team Wooly Sheep noticed a couple of other teams passing by the entrance of their mine. Luckily, these teams simply moved past them.

Yet, just when they reached the valuable but dangerous depths, Green received a voice transmission in the Excursion Lobby.

"You are Team Ankylosaurus, correct?" a grey-haired man with a flat expression transmitted to Kyle.

Kyle looked at the guy and immediately knew why he was here. His Communicator identified him as a direct member of Extended Family.

He was a Minor Immortal, and he was here with all three of his Avatars.

"We are, yes," Kyle answered.

The Minor Immortal crossed his arms with a cold expression. "I'm here to talk about your run-in with the Rock Turner Team. I've been told about what has transpired."

"What did you hear?" Kyle asked.

"The Rock Turner Team attacked you. You struck back. One Avatar and all three Avatars of one of our members were killed by you. Is that correct?" he asked.

"That's correct," Kyle answered.

'I thought they would distort the truth, but that sounded pretty accurate,' he thought with a bit of surprise.

"Striking back is your right," the Minor Immortal transmitted. "Our members struck first. Even if you had killed all five of their Avatars, I wouldn't have come here."

"But you killed two Avatars that were not part of the Excursion. These two Avatars have not attacked your team, and yet, they have been killed by you. This constitutes an act of aggression towards Extended Family and will be prosecuted as such."

"I warned them," Kyle answered. "I told them that I can't control this thing. None of them have submitted or conceded during the battle."

"Have you warned them about your Soul Attack?" the Minor Immortal asked flatly.

"Do you tell your enemies about your attacks beforehand?" Kyle asked back.

"Have you or have you not?" the Minor Immortal asked.

"Of course I haven't told them about my attack. Shouting the name of your attack before launching it is the dumbest thing you can do in a battle," Kyle answered with some annoyance.

"In that case, the reports have been accurate, and Extended Family will take measures to stop this from happening again," the Minor Immortal transmitted.

"What do you want?" Kyle asked. "If you just wanted to kill me, you wouldn't be talking to me right now."

"There are three ways for you to make amends," the Minor Immortal transmitted.

"One, a full insurance fee for every member of your team, return all of the belongings you have taken, add another 600 Grade Nine Energy Stones, swear that you will not try to come after Extended Family again."

"Two, join Extended Family as a true member and swear that you will act in the family's interest for the next five million years."

"Three, destroy two of your Avatars."

"These are your choices. Resistance will increase the debt."

Kyle narrowed his eyes. Sebastian and Abyssal Depths noticed the exchange as well. They weren't part of the conversation, but they could tell that Kyle and the Minor Immortal were conversing.

Sure enough, Extended Family was making problems for them.

"I refuse," Kyle transmitted. "You're free to enforce your rules, but be mindful of the fact that another uninvolved Avatar might vanish."

The Minor Immortal didn't seem surprised.

He had expected something like this. He had come with all three of his Avatars so that he could use one to keep watch over the team in the Excursion Lobby while his two other Avatars would enforce the rules.

"As you wish," the Minor Immortal said. In the next moment, all three of his Avatars took to the sky and shot out of Wild's Summit.

After listening to Kyle's warning, the Minor Immortal had changed his plan.

Maybe it was better to go with all three of his Avatars to enforce the rules.
