Chapter 1211: Material Embryos

Chapter 1211: Material Embryos

Kyle couldn't see any valuables. Underground caves could hold valuables, which was why so many teams had been interested, but that didn't mean that all of them were valuable.

The underground cave was pretty big. From an outside perspective, it looked like a long tunnel with a big hole in its ceiling. The walls were mostly made of dirt, but there were also a couple of metals here and there. Sadly, the metals weren't very valuable.

Spring of Joy entered the cave and gestured to the walls. "Can you feel the Gravity Energy in the walls?"

"I can," Kyle answered, "but none of the materials have transformed into their Gravity Element counterparts. These materials aren't really useful."

"Not as they are, no," Spring of Joy said with a smile, "but we can make them useful. These are material embryos."

"Material embryos?" Abyssal Depths asked with furrowed brows from the side. "I haven't heard of those before."

"Me neither," Kyle added. "They are not on the list of sellable valuables."

"Because they're unstable," Spring of Joy answered. "All of the metals and earths have been around the Gravity Water for a long time. Over that period, they've attained some of Gravity Water's aspects of gravity. In short, they emulate Gravity Materials but don't really have their properties. If we harvest them, they will lose their properties."

"Okay, and how do we make them valuable?" Kyle asked.

"By turning them into materials of the Major Elements," Spring of Joy answered. "They just lack density, the natural Energy flow, and the Primordial Force Energy that materials for the Major Elements have. The instability of material embryos makes them also very malleable. They are ready to transform. We just need to help them transform."

"Huh, I can see how that makes sense," Kyle answered.

For a moment, Kyle looked at the materials. Now that he knew what he was supposed to pay attention to, his mind came up with several methods. He knew all of the Major Elements, which meant that he also knew how they could be created.

'How have I not noticed that before?' he thought.

Yet, as Kyle actually started thinking about it, he realized that it wasn't easy to facilitate the transformation.

"Instantaneous compression, Energy Infusions, space manipulation, time manipulation, stability, rapid transformation," Kyle listed slowly.

Spring of Joy's smile widened a bit. "That's correct. We need to set up a couple of Formation Arrays. I'm not a Formation Array Master. I don't know how the Formation Arrays work, but I know which ones people usually use."

Spring of Joy listed a couple of Formation Arrays. Kyle turned to the rookie Formation Array Master of Team Wooly Sheep and discussed the setup with him.

"I can create some of them," he answered, "but I don't have all of the materials."

"I have enough," Kyle answered.

The two of them planned for a while and set up a complicated network of Formation Arrays. Setting everything up took several minutes. In the end, they set up almost 15 Formation Arrays.

They guided everyone to different positions and connected their Energies to the Energy Sources.

"Here goes," Kyle said as he activated the Formation Arrays.

Everyone lost a big chunk of Energy in an instant as an intense wave of Primordial Forces washed over the cave.

BOOOM!

The walls around them tore away and shot towards the Formation Arrays. The metals and earths had all the impure Elemental Energies siphoned out of them, and moments later, the pure materials crashed into each other.

At the same time, all of the members fled towards the big hole. This move could destabilize the entire cave, leading to a cave-in. Luckily, the hole above them would remain stable.

The surroundings shook, and a couple of stones fell from the sides. Fortunately, the cave remained stable.

Moments later, the team returned, and they saw two huge balls of materials.

When Kyle saw the balls, he smiled with a bit of excitement. 'It worked!'

Naturally, he recognized the two materials, and sure enough, they were materials of the Major Elements. These kinds of materials were not worth a lot since they were not of a high level, but the two spheres were simply huge!

"We can probably sell these for around eight Grade Nine Energy Stones," the Leader of Team Wooly Sheep said. "Do you agree with this estimate?"

Abyssal Depths and Kyle nodded. They knew the prices of the market.

Due to the rules of loot distribution and the awkwardness of splitting the materials, Team Wooly Sheep gave Team Ankylosaurus five Grade Nine Energy Stones. In exchange, they would keep both spheres. The Grade Nine Energy Stones immediately entered the team's shared finances.

"Anything else of value here?" Kyle asked Spring of Joy.

"Not as far as I can tell," she answered. "We earned some Energy Stones, but to be honest, it was less than expected."

The others agreed. For an underground cave, this was a bit lackluster.

"Well, time to continue digging, then," Kyle transmitted.

Yet, just when Kyle had said that, he noticed his Karmic Lines slightly shifting. If he hadn't known the Law of Karmic Causality, he wouldn't have noticed the subtle shift. The Karmic Lines between him and Team Wooly Sheep had become a bit unstable. This was usually the sign that someone was making a choice that would affect Karmic Luck.

Kyle decided to act like he hadn't noticed anything, but at the same time, he also grew a bit wary. They had an alliance with the other team, but they had not created an all-or-nothing oath. Trying to circumvent it would come at a great cost of Karmic Luck, while outright breaking it would cost several levels of Karmic Luck, but if there were an incentive...

After some time, the Leader and Spring of Joy looked at Kyle. "We've had a Vision of Destiny," the Leader transmitted.

'Ah, that's what this is about,' Kyle thought.

The fact that the Leader hadn't shared the details implied a certain amount of hesitation. It was an unspoken question or request.

Visions of Destiny were a big deal. Kyle's team didn't even have a member with the Fourth Blessing of Karmic Luck, while the other team had five. It was no surprise that Team Wooly Sheep hesitated. Kyle's team basically wouldn't contribute anything and would take 60% of the loot.

If Team Wooly Sheep decided to wait out the alliance oath, they could return later and take everything for themselves. This was circumventing the oath and would lead to a significant drop in Karmic Luck, but it might be worth it.

However, they also knew that they couldn't keep it secret. For every moment they didn't share their discovery, they would lose Karmic Luck. The other team might not notice it immediately, but after a couple of decades, they were bound to notice that their Karmic Luck was dropping. This would create distrust between the teams, which could lead to other problems.

In the end, Team Wooly Sheep had decided to share the discovery.

Now, Kyle had to make a choice. He could say that they had agreed on how loot was to be distributed. Visions of Destiny never led to treasures that were worth fewer than ten Grade Nine Energy Stones, and they could lead to treasures that were worth hundreds or thousands of Grade Nine Energy Stones.

Should Kyle act according to the agreement, or should he be nice and potentially lose hundreds or thousands of Grade Nine Energy Stones?
