Chapter 1026: Killing Liu Bashan; Fleeing?
Chapter 1026: Killing Liu Bashan; Fleeing?
Song Heiran’s eyes flashed, “This might indeed be the case. He is perhaps planning to deal with us with the help of those dreadful beasts in the Valley.”
“Heh, that little bastard overestimates himself.” Liu Bashan chuckled mockingly.
Song Heiran glanced at the people beside him and couldn’t help but think what Liu Bashan said made sense.
“That’s too reckless of him.” The person at the back commented, “He could die before we reach him.”
Swoosh!
As soon as he said this, he flashed to the front of the group and raced away. None of the four was surprised because this person was the strongest of them.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
They also increased their speeds to stay with him.
A short while later, they reached the Dark Valley and immediately everyone frowned because… they saw Max standing at the entrance of the valley, his saber casually slung over his shoulder.
Swoosh!
They came to a stop twenty meters away from him. This distance was just right for them to attack or retreat at a moment’s notice.
Max glanced at them and asked, “Uncle Liu, Uncle Song, what a coincidence. Were you also entering the Dark Valley to hunt?”
“Heh, little bastard. Don’t try to act oblivious.” Liu Bashan chuckled darkly as he removed the mask from his face.
Max ignored him and glanced at Song Heiran, “Uncle Song, can you introduce these three first to me first? I think I don’t know anyone else apart from you two, oh and Patriarch Nie, enough for them to come for me.”
Song Heiran stared at him, his brows furrowed in thought.
“What are you planning?” He asked after a moment.
“Me? Nothing. I just want to test my strength against some beasts.” Max shook his head, then his tone changed as he eyed them, “Though I won’t mind killing some of the greedy beasts either.”
“You insolent boy! How dare you curse us?!” Liu Bashan growled as he took out two knuckle braces and wore them.
“Eh? When did I curse you? I was just talking about those greedy beasts.” Max said with an innocent expression on his face. Then he asked, “Don’t tell me you think of yourself as a beast too? If so, hah, I have to say, you overestimate yourself. You are nothing more than a Lowly, Back-stabbing, Disgusting Worm.”
Max coldly spat on the ground as he finished speaking.
“Die you bastard!” Liu Bashan’s face turned as dark as the bottom of a wok and he lost his mind. Shouting in rage, he rushed toward him, his muscles flexed as he clenched his fist and activated his Combat Technique [Enraged Bull Smash].
Song Heiran frowned and opened his mouth to call to stop him but a hand was placed on his shoulder and he heard, “Let him test the boy’s strength.”
Song Heiran brows knit together, but he eventually nodded.
The corner of Max’s lips curled up in disdain, “Since you are in so much hurry to die, let me fulfill your wish.”
He grabbed the saber, took a breath and then shot forward.
Swoosh!
Since Liu Bashan was also running toward him, he arrived before him instantly.
“Die!” Liu Bashan roared and threw his punch at Max’s head.
Shua!
Before he had thrown the punch, Max was already lowering his stance, so he easily dodged it. Then the next second, he swung the saber horizontally at Liu Bashan’s torso with all his might.
Thump!
Liu Bashan’s heart skipped a beat when he failed to hit him and chills ran down his spine when he saw Max swing the saber.
Shing!
“Save—” He began shouting but it was cut short when the sharp saber cut into his chest and came out from his back.
Swoosh!
Max came to a stop a meter behind him and causally jerked the saber, flicking off the blood on it.
He then looked at Song Heiran and others, just over ten meters away from him while they stared back at him with grim looks in their eyes.
‘Hm?’ He suddenly noticed one of them didn’t look so grim. In fact, the look in his eyes was quite… indifferent?
Thud!
Right then, Liu Bashan fell to his knees and his upper half slid to the ground and his lower half followed. Blood bursted out from the two halves in ending streams and quickly made a large puddle around them.
“Uncle Song, how about you introduce your new friend to me now?” Max broke the heavy silence that had built between them, his tone casual as if what he had done was nothing significant.
Song Heiran’s heart was quivering with terror as he stared at his closest ally’s dead body.
When he heard Max’s voice, his breathing hitched and the moment he saw his face with that same casual expression on it, he thought that he should have invited more help appeared in his mind.
Then his fear gave way to uncontrollable murderous intent and he glanced at the man beside him who had stopped him from stopping Liu Bashan, and hurriedly said, “Patriarch Mi, help me kill him. You can have whatever he has on him.”
Patriarch Mi glanced at him with narrowed eyes, clearly displeased that he had disclosed his identity but it didn’t matter.
“Don’t worry. Since I—”
Swoosh!
Just as he began speaking, he saw Max who was standing there, looking brazenly confident just a moment earlier, had spun on his heels and jumped into the Dark Valley.
He was stunned for a split second, then his expression rapidly darkened and he slapped Song Heiran.
Slap!
“Bastard!”
Swoosh!
The next moment, he rushed after Max and jumped into the valley.
The duo beside Song Heiran gave him ugly looks when they realized why Max had suddenly fled before they also rushed away.
Song Heiran stood there, clutching his cheek, however he wasn’t angry. Instead, a ruthless smile appeared on his face.
“You little shit, you are done for.” He growled under his breath. Then after hesitating for a bit, he also jumped into the valley after casting a glance at Liu Bashan’s corpse. However, unlike Patriarch Mi and the other two who were rushing after Max at their top speed, he was moving very slowly.
Clearly, he didn’t intend to get involved in the battle. Both Liu Bashan and he were in the Third Layer Bone Tempering. After seeing Max killing him with such ease, he had become afraid.
Why did Max run away?
