“Hmph!” Gu Lan grunted and stopped pinching him.
Just as Max was about to say something, he saw her looking at him suspiciously.
“What is it, Lan’er?” He asked.
Gu Lan continued staring at him in silence for a few moments, then finally asked, “Didn’t you lose your Skin Refinement Cultivation because of the illness? How come you are now in Muscle Refining?”
Max gave her a smile and asked, “Wanna take a guess?”
Gu Lan rolled her eyes and moved her hand towards his waist threateningly which made Max quickly say, “Alright, I will tell you.”
Gu Lan nodded in satisfaction and stared at him.
Max had already thought of an explanation and said, “It’s all because of my strange illness.”
“Hm?” Gu Lan frowned.
Max explained, “When I woke up in the morning today, I found the illness tormenting me had disappeared and a warm current was flowing in my body, constantly nourishing me. When I sensed it closely, I realized this current was the vital energy and life force the illness had squeezed out of me.”
“After the current disappeared, I realized I was no longer feeling weak. At first I thought it only healed me, but then I found a miraculous cultivation art in my head.” A look of awe appeared on his face.
Suddenly, it turned into one of wild excitement and he hugged her tightly, pressing his hard-on deeper into her.
“W-What are you doing? Stop it.” Gu Lan flushed and pinched him. She was in the early stages of Muscle Refinement, Second Layer to be precise.
So, she couldn’t cause him much pain, especially since she wasn’t using much of her strength. But Max again acted as if he was in immense pain. He yelped and loosened his hold on her slightly, so he wasn’t pressing into her too hard.
Gu Lan let out a breath while trying not to show what she was feeling on her face.
“What is this Miraculous Art?” She asked, genuinely curious.
She had heard of people having fortuitous encounters where they would gain some Secret Art, a Supreme Treasure or something else. But there was one thing common, everyone who had these encounters, unless they died prematurely, they would go on to become really powerful cultivators.
Because of this, her heart was thudding with anticipation when she heard Max tell her a Miraculous Cultivation Art had appeared in his mind out of nowhere when his illness vanished.
‘Could it be that the heavens finally took pity on our family and gave Big Brother a stroke of fortune?’ she thought.
Instead of answering, Max stared at her with a hesitant look on his face.
Gu Lan’s face fell, “What, you don’t want to tell me?”
Though she knew the less people knew about someone’s fortunate encounter, the safer the person would be, she felt uncomfortable thinking he didn’t believe her enough to tell her either.
Before she could dwell upon this thought further and become more unhappy, Max said, “It’s not that I don’t want to tell you… I’m just afraid that you won’t like it.”
Gu Lan fell silent and the uncomfortable feeling disappeared when she heard this.
After a moment, she asked him, a serious expression on her face, “Can it change the fate of our family?”
“Yes,” Max nodded.
“Then it doesn’t matter whether I like it or not.” Gu Lan said.
A soft look appeared in Max’s eyes. He lowered his head, kissed her forehead and emotionally said, “Our Gu Family is blessed to have you, Lan’er.”
A bashful but pleased look appeared on her face. “Stop trying to butter me up.”
Max chuckled in response, then said, “The Art received is really miraculous because it allowed me to reach Muscle Refinement from point zero in just an hour. However, it’s really perverted.”
Gu Lan listened without interrupting him.
“It can only be used when I’m… making love to a woman, the more feelings I have for her, the more benefits I will receive from it.”
“Hmm. It’s really perverted then.” Gu Lan nodded in agreement, then her eyes suddenly narrowed dangerously and she struggled out of his embrace before bellowing, “You said it allowed you to reach Muscle Refinement. Then who did you do it with? WHO?!”
“Second Sister-in-law.” Max answered straightforwardly, showing no intention to hide. At the same time, his expression became neutral.
“I told you you won’t like it.” He said, “If this makes you hate me, I can’t do anything about it. With First Brother injured, the only hope to save our family is that I use this Art as much as possible and reach Bone Refinement.”
Saying this, he turned around, “I didn’t come to just check up on you, but also to see if you still had romantic feelings for me and whether you would be willing to become my woman and help me become stronger. But since—”
