Chapter 1452: Divine Bird
Chapter 1452: Divine Bird
Just like when Vivian summoned Gaia, the energy gradually turned into a shape. Rather than a humanoid, it turned into a bird.
The divine bird that he was summoning was originally a mount, but his master was one of the strongest gods in existence. There was no way the mount would be someone ordinary.
The wind started to flow gently all around the room, carrying all the residual power from Gaia away as if it was cleaning up the space.
"Now... this looks like someone I can get along with." Xolotl smiled excitedly.
"It is my honor for someone like you to acknowledge my existence." His voice was deep and gentle. There was a charm that came with age. It was as if there was a muscular middle-aged man who still acted like a gentleman.
Unlike Gaia, his tone was calm, not looking down on others. The others also didn’t feel any pressure from him.
Without manifesting too much, the bird emerged from its cocoon, showing its true form.
His body was emerald in color with the beak of a kite. He had roundish eyes and a pair of golden wings. His wings were sharp like a hawk’s.
His current size was much smaller than Nathan originally thought, but Nathan definitely summoned the correct one.
Name: Garuda
Level: 683/1001
Race: Divine Kite
Quality: Perfect (Low)
Yes, the bird that Nathan summoned was none other than Garuda, the mount of Vishnu. Garuda was known for his speed and loyalty, so he would be perfect for Nathan’s team.
"So, this is my summoner." Garuda gently looked at Nathan before asking, "My summoner. Before we establish our pact, allow me to ask you a question. It looks like you have some questions for me as well, so it’s better to satisfy our curiosity before that."
"Please." Nathan nodded with a serious expression.
"Even my previous master failed in the past. What makes you think you can do it?"
Nathan gently shook his head. "I don’t know if I can do it or not. I have a certain level of confidence, but there’s no such thing as full confidence against the aliens or the black cell.
"However, someone has to do it. Even if I fail, I will still do my best. Only if I win can I fulfill my dream after all."
Garuda nodded in understanding. "Very well. I’ll accept your answer. So how about I satisfy your curiosity?"
Nathan thought for a moment. "It’s not like I am suspecting you or something, but perhaps you are like Xolotl? I have often heard you depicted as having four arms..."
"Of course. This is my original form. I usually use this because I don’t need to use any energy, which is perfect for recovery.
"Meanwhile, the form you are talking about..." Garuda gradually grew bigger.
His head and legs were still those of a bird, but his torso gradually turned into a human torso. His chest was big, and his muscles were refined to perfection.
The wings moved to the back as four arms grew from his humanoid body. A pair of arms linked to each other, folding in adoration. The other two carried an umbrella and the pot of amrita.
"This must be the form that you are talking about. However, this is not my real size. I’m a bit bigger than this."
"I see. Thank you very much, Garuda. I can call you that, right?"
"Of course." Garuda nodded. "Do you have anything else to ask?"
"No."
Garuda then turned back to his original form and flapped his wings. "In that case, I will serve as your mount as well as your partner.
"While you have yet to be qualified as my master, I will allow you to ride me when you need it. I shall fight for you as long as your goal remains the same.
"However, if you become corrupted, I shall be the first one to bring you back. If ever you change beyond recognition, that will be the day our relationship is severed.
"It is a pleasure to meet a human with such karma. I’m looking forward to working with you, my new friend, Nathan."
Nathan nodded with a smile. "It’s an honor to work with you, Garuda."
"Since the ceremony is over, it’s time for us to have a chat, shall we? You also participated in that war, didn’t you? Come here, come here. Tell me about it." Xolotl grinned while playfully grabbing Garuda.
"You must be the dog that saved the Earth. It is an honor for me to meet you. My lord once worried about the people because they would be sacrificed for the sake of the war.
"Thanks to your sacrifice, the disaster didn’t happen. My lord could fight without any worries."
"Mhmm. I was sacrificed against my will, though." Xolotl laughed.
"My condolences." Garuda nodded. He first turned to Nathan. "If there is nothing else to say, I’d like to excuse myself for a moment."
"Yes." Nathan waved his hand. "Please welcome our friend well, Xolotl."
"I know, I know." Xolotl waved back and dragged Garuda elsewhere.
The rest of the people were quite speechless. It was no wonder Nathan had a lot of weird knowledge.
They misunderstood his knowledge of Earth as the knowledge that the divine beasts had passed on to him.
This time, they were truly convinced that Nathan’s knowledge didn’t come from somewhere else.
Back then, Vivian thought it was impossible for Fenrir to give him all that knowledge, but if the divine beasts knew each other to a certain extent, it was understandable.
They must have shared a lot of knowledge all around the world.
Nevertheless, Nathan didn’t plan to solve the misunderstanding. It was more convenient this way.
Nathan then turned to everyone with a smile. "Since the summoning is over, how about having a small celebration?"
"Oh! Let’s go. Congratulations, my dear." Luna nodded and hurriedly hugged his arm, smoothly taking him away.
"Oi." Bella wanted to complain, but they were already gone from the room.
Evelyn and Revon followed suit, while Vivian remained there, staring at them. Now that she was alone, she was thinking about satisfying her curiosity before celebrating with them.
