Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1473: First Meeting

Chapter 1473: First Meeting

"What is this?" Spider ground her teeth in frustration. She jumped from one building to another at a speed much faster than a normal person could see.

Her steps were light, so she didn’t destroy any buildings.

She was trying to approach Melissa, who supported Revon. As a support, she would be easier to take down. That was what Spider thought, but the reality couldn’t be any more different.

When she was about to reach Melissa, a magic circle appeared on the ground in front of her. She was forced to send out a spider web to pull herself back and kill her momentum.

A lightning bolt erupted from the magic circle. If she had continued earlier, the lightning would have scorched a part of her body, dealing quite a lot of damage to her.

But because she stopped, Revon could close their distance and smash her. "Lightning Lariat!"

"Tsk." Spider clicked her tongue and raised both arms along with the spider legs on her back, withstanding Revon’s power.

However, the momentum was still transferred, causing her to be launched toward the building behind her.

Her body crushed the building. As if the building had become a part of the calculation, another magic circle appeared right after it was destroyed.

"!!!" Spider hurriedly jumped away to avoid the magic circle, but that wasn’t possible.

Another magic circle formed on her arms. It was at the spot that Revon hit earlier.

Melissa actually reconfigured the attack so that it would carry her own magic circle and plant that magic circle upon impact.

This magic circle turned out to be the same magic circle that released the chain. This chain bound her to the house.

She could break free from the chain, but it hindered her movement for just a bit, resulting in her remaining in the house as the magic circle blasted the entire house until there was nothing left.

"How is this happening?" Spider raised both arms to withstand the blast. She managed to stay intact, but her body was deformed slightly due to the blast.

The black cell immediately covered those parts to heal her, but Spider’s confusion remained in her mind.

She was stronger than Revon and Melissa. Yet, for some reason, she couldn’t gain the upper hand all this time.

’What’s actually happening? It feels like all my actions have been calculated. When I move to one place, there will already be one magic circle ready. I can’t even get close to her.’

Spider couldn’t see a gap that allowed her to reach Melissa. Whenever there was a gap, there would be a trap that appeared out of nowhere.

Revon would take advantage of that trap to hit her. That was what had confused her the most. It was as if every step she took was already in Melissa’s calculation.

There was one big difference between Melissa and Flora. Flora learned trap magic was to assist in group battles, while Melissa dedicated her own life to help the person she loved so much.

...

"Kh. Am I going to die?" Melissa stared at the incoming mature class alien in horror. She didn’t expect a mature class alien coming here.

As a freshman at the academy, she was still not strong enough to challenge one.

Suddenly, a silhouette covered the sun, creating a huge shadow due to the difference in elevation.

This silhouette then threw his spear down with so much force that it was as if the pillar of the world was impaling the alien.

"!!!" Melissa couldn’t help but gasp. "What?"

In just one hit, the mature class alien was half-dead.

When the person landed on top of the alien while carrying all the fall momentum, he killed the alien.

"I’m sorry for being late, Junior. Are you alright?" The person asked while brushing his hair up with his hand and pulling the spear out of the alien’s body.

For Melissa, it was like a hero falling from the sky to save her.

Melissa couldn’t answer him as her mouth refused to move due to the shock. She was wondering if she was dreaming one last time that a handsome prince had just come to save a commoner like her.

"Are you alright?" The man asked with a wry smile, wondering what was in the mind of this junior of his. He extended his hand to help her up.

However, Melissa couldn’t help but grab his hand with both hands and asked with an innocent face, "Can I become your woman?"

The man didn’t act surprised or impulsive. Rather, he looked up as if he were thinking about it. "Sorry, I don’t think I can give you an answer. After all, there is nothing happening between us until now."

That was how they first met, but Melissa changed after that day.

"I’m going to change my fighting style!" Melissa slammed the table, showing her conviction to Vivian.

"Huh? Do I look like I care about that?" Vivian’s eyebrows twitched.

"I’m going to become a support and a trapper. I will fight in a way that the person I help will be able to become the best in the world."

"Like I said, I don’t care."

Melissa continued as if she didn’t hear a single thing from Vivian. "Listen. I’m going to take advantage of my originally quick calculation with my specialty, magic circles."

"Listen to me." Vivian tried to stop her, but Melissa kept pressing her, telling every single thing.

"Senior! Please pair up with me on that project. I’m going to show everyone that I’m qualified to be your girlfriend!" Melissa’s eyes lit up.

"Is that so?" As the son of a duke and the only successor to the house, he was often pursued by a lot of women. But this was the first time someone who could disregard everything came into his life.

Jay thought about rejecting her, but simply rejecting her would just be ignored by her. So, he thought he wanted to use a challenge that showed that they were not compatible.

Melissa would surely accept this result.

"Fine. I will give you one chance, only one chance. Alright?"
