Chapter 1501: Possible
Chapter 1501: Possible
"What do you think?" Nathan asked.
"Hmm..." Gregory mumbled while reading the book. After reading it for twenty minutes, Gregory explained, "It’s possible."
Luna raised her head. The hope that had once been shattered was reignited.
Luna had been working hard to translate the entire research book in just a day. It looked like the work was worth it.
"Are you sure?" Nathan asked for confirmation.
"Yes. I have 80% confidence that it is possible. However, there are three problems." Gregory raised three fingers.
"What is that?"
"First, you may already know about this problem. This is an alien. If we want to do the procedure on humans, we have to adjust it first, so we will need additional research."
"I’m planning to leave it in your hands. How long do you need?"
"I’m not entirely sure. It actually leads to the second problem. The fund. I probably also need a research team that can help me."
Nathan nodded in understanding. He took out 100 cards. "You can use this money. My money has been divided to avoid suspicion. In total, there should be about 6 billion left. Is it enough?"
Gregory gasped, not expecting Nathan to have that amount of money. "More than enough!"
"Good." Nathan smiled, satisfied. "As for the research team, you can handle it yourself. However, note that I want absolute secrecy."
"Understood, sir."
"So, what’s the third problem?" Nathan asked.
"The third problem is regarding the test subject himself. May I know who it is for you to personally request me? You even asked me to keep it a secret."
Gregory had his own principles. Nathan knew this, so he first looked at Luna.
After Luna gave a nod, Nathan explained, "That person is Leon Eleren. The woman beside me... I’m sure you know her, right?"
"Ah!" Gregory gasped. He knew Luna Eleren. There was no one as unique as her. The white hair, eyebrows, pale skin, and other things that lacked pigment.
Nathan continued, "The Death Society had brainwashed or maybe controlled him this whole time through the black cell. To save him, we need to remove the black cell itself. So, I want you to take care of it. It’s not like we can show this around, can we?"
"That’s understandable." Gregory nodded in understanding. "Since you are the one asking it, I will do it."
"Thank you." Nathan felt relieved. "Don’t be cheap during the research. You can keep the rest of the fund after you complete this task. And with this, you are free. Thank you for your hard work."
"Boss. There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask." Gregory paused for a moment. "Whether it’s the time limit, funds, or other things, why do you act as if you don’t have much time? Are you sick or something?"
"I’m not sick, but I am not a local either."
"Ah?"
"I’m from a different continent, here to destroy the Death Society. They are gone now, so you don’t have to worry about that. Unfortunately, there’s not much I can say about myself to you."
"Can’t I go with you, boss?" Gregory asked. He thought Nathan was a decent boss. He provided everything so that he could focus on his job. At the same time, he was very fair with the reward.
Gregory thought following Nathan would be the best choice.
Nathan also shared the idea. If Gregory followed him, he could spread the knowledge about the advanced medicine this continent possessed on Gratzel.
However, he didn’t plan to bring Leon back to Gratzel. After all, Leon had to take care of the Eleren family once he recovered.
Still, someone like Gregory was quite rare even on this continent.
So, Nathan thought about an alternative. "How about this? You do this. Once you are done, I might bring you to my continent. What do you think?"
"Really?" Gregory’s eyes flashed.
Nathan raised his hand and formed a Soul Contract. "This is my innate... I mean, Heavenly Ability. This contract will bind us. I plan to use this contract to ensure that both of us fulfill our promises."
"I will sign it!" Gregory furiously nodded.
"Very well." Nathan started forming the contracts. Gregory had no problem with the contents, so he signed it immediately.
This would also motivate Gregory to work harder without sparing any funds for Leon’s recovery.
Once the Soul Contract was active, Luna placed down the coffin. "Inside this coffin is my brother. I have sealed his power. He shouldn’t be able to harm you, but if it’s not necessary, don’t bring him out of the coffin. He should remain asleep for two hours after leaving the coffin, but after that, he needs to be sealed for 24 hours. Do you want to ask something?"
"No. I’ll make sure to complete the task."
Luna then bowed to Gregory. "Please save my brother."
"No, no. You’re too kind." Gregory bowed back. Luna seemed to have a close relationship with his boss, so he couldn’t afford to have her lower herself. Still, this was her brother’s life, so it was only right for her to treat him this way.
"I’ll be leaving him to you, Gregory. As long as the black cell exists, he doesn’t need to eat, just like other aliens. Besides, the sealing process makes you sleep like hibernation." Nathan patted Gregory’s shoulder.
"Understood. I will not disappoint you."
"In that case, I’ll take my leave for now." Nathan waved his hand.
"Yes, boss. Have a safe trip."
Now that Gregory took care of Leon, Nathan and Luna could finally go to the alien that had guided Luna and Leon in the past, the alien that handled the chosen one of this continent, Crotto.
"As expected, it’s still here..." Luna muttered as she opened the door.
There was an alien with a weak breath. As soon as she saw him, Luna ran toward him. "Uncle!"
"Luna..." Crotto called back. "Your brother..."
"Don’t worry, Uncle. We’ve defeated the Dark Society. My brother will still take time to recover because we have to remove the black cell on his body, but he will be fine."
"Is that so..." Crotto finally understood what was going on. "So, that means..."
"Yes, Uncle." Luna nodded. "I’ve found him. I’d like to introduce him to you. He is Nathan. Nathan, this is my uncle, Crotto."
