Chapter 1504: Requirements

Everyone’s gaze followed right after.

Crotto waited for a few seconds. "I’m going to guide you. I’ve heard some stories, so as long as you bring me to a certain location. I can trace the power of my god to figure out the location. My mission is to bring you to the alien world where he resides."

The person in Crotto’s mouth was definitely Nyarlathotep. It looked like Crotto didn’t know the details either. Only after investigating it could they find the portal and reach the other world.

"All right then." Nathan nodded in understanding. "Well, I guess I should set a time limit again. If we wait too long, Yog-Sothoth will descend to this planet."

"That is not good," replied Crotto.

"Why? If the enemy is coming to our place, can’t we set up an ambush? Won’t it be better that way?" Bella asked.

"No. He is the master of space and time. If he descends to this planet, he might end up destroying the planet as a whole. The battle of two true gods can destroy a planet, so I don’t recommend letting him come here."

"You mean our whole world will be destroyed?" Bella gasped.

"Correct. His sheer presence alone can destroy an entire continent. We either have to fight him on an uninhabited large planet or outer space itself. Other than that, it will just cause unnecessary destruction."

"To do that, we need to become a divine being first, at least at Fenrir’s level. But considering Yog-Sothoth’s power, we need to reach the level of Xolotl, I think." Nathan sighed. "Even at that level, there’s no guarantee whether we can defeat Yog-Sothoth or not. Still, I plan to defeat him."

"You are not alone, Nathan." Evelyn shook her head.

"No. I have to defeat him by myself. If I can’t defeat Yog-Sothoth alone, it will be impossible for us to defeat Azathoth, the reality itself." Nathan sighed.

"Hearing about those aliens’ powers gives me a headache. How are humans supposed to fight them?"

"Exactly. The humans need to become gods if they want to stand a chance." Nathan shrugged. "Anyway, we will have to worry about that later. Just know that we don’t have a lot of time left.

"According to my speculation, the ancient ones will be coming to this world."

"The ancient ones?"

"Yeah." Nathan nodded. "The ancient ones that are supposed to be sealed in the sunken city are already in the black cell’s control. From my dream... No, my memory, the ancient ones will descend. About a thousand of them."

Even Crotto didn’t expect this invasion. "In that case, you shouldn’t fight them on this planet as well. With that many ancient ones, one or two continents might end up getting destroyed, if not the entire world.

"The destruction itself won’t be like the erasure of a planet, like what a true god is capable of, but it’ll be enough to destroy a planet from within."

"I see. I will keep that in mind." Nathan crossed his arms. "I don’t know what level Selena and the others currently are at. But I will set the time limit to 1.5 years. During that time, we will grow stronger and investigate the portals.

"This number might change, but we have to reach the other world at most two years later. That’s the maximum limit," explained Nathan.

Crotto agreed with Nathan. "It’s reasonable. As long as you are able to construct your divine body, you can leave this planet and withstand any type of condition you are in.

"Because this planet is not very advanced yet, you must not know the condition of outer space, so I will tell you about it briefly.

"In outer space, there is no oxygen, meaning you won’t be able to breathe. If you come out with your mortal body, you will feel your lungs as if they’re being compressed and will certainly die.

"However, after constructing your divine body, your body will be able to withstand all that pressure.

"There are weird planets that contain poisonous gas in their atmosphere, planets that only have rocks and no presence of water...

"All kinds of things you need to worry about will disappear as soon as you construct your divine body. So, rather than the power of rules, you need to construct your divine body if you want to travel to other worlds.

"Of course, I can check the other side of the portal first and see whether a mortal body can withstand it or not. But you can be more flexible if you can construct your divine body."

Nathan thought for a moment. "Well, I guess traveling between worlds will be easier once we become true gods. Evelyn and I might be able to create a teleportation circle to another world."

"Probably."

"Anyway, we will check everything by ourselves, Crotto. If there’s something wrong or unique, we will teleport you to our positions. Do you have any problems with this arrangement?"

"No. I will tell you more about teleportation once you find the first portal. It’s easier to tell you about them once you see them."

"All right." Nathan raised one finger. "Anyway, you heard me. Anyone who wants to go to another world will need the power of rules at least. If the world on the other side is not suitable, then I will have to raise the bar further."

Evelyn and Luna nodded. They were the closest ones to reach that level, so they had no problem with the requirement.

Nathan was worried that Selena and the others couldn’t reach this level. But he thought it would be fine if they didn’t either.

If they were too weak, they might die. When the Godfather released his strongest attack, he couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if other people got hit directly by it.

If he’d made another mistake during the battle, Bella, Vivian, and anyone else from the Sleeping Garden could have died.

And such a thing might happen to Selena and the others. So, he had to be strict.

"I guess we’re done here. Let’s just relax until we reach Gratzel."
