Chapter 1744: Embassy
Chapter 1744: Embassy
"So, how is it going?" Nathan asked.
Luna had been managing all the minerals she could find from all the rocks. "I’m not exactly sure what I should say here."
"Why?"
Luna crossed her arms. "First of all, the minerals are quite rare. In fact, some of them are in a different form from the ones we can find on this world. Some are unstable, some are even better, some are... I don’t know.
"It’s truly a marvel, but I don’t know how I should work with them. Still, I can find a new material that is conducting ena much better than the mineral we have. It may even achieve 95% to 99% efficiency if it’s processed right.
"However, I don’t have the knowledge on how to do it yet. It’s just a theory, and I still haven’t thought of a plan to reach that theory yet." Luna shook her head helplessly.
"So, these minerals are useless?" Nathan asked.
"No, of course not. They’re extremely useful. At the very least, I have found a few that can be used immediately to make better weapons.
"I guess I should ask Iris regarding this matter. She has a very creative mind, and she has a god of forging backing her up."
Nathan nodded in understanding. "What about the rest?"
"The rest... I’m still thinking. These minerals are so tempting to the point where I want to forge my divine body right now to grab another asteroid."
"Well, they’re not the same."
"I know." Luna shook her head helplessly. "Fortunately, I think I can manage this somehow. I’ll take what we can share to the Blacksmith Guild. I’ll inform them about the new weapon creation.
"It will take some time, but it should work out just fine." Luna assured Nathan.
"Is that so? In that case, please continue."
"By the way, are you done with the books?"
"Not yet." Nathan shook his head. "It will take some time."
"I want to read it. I need to know what we’re up against."
"I’m trying to write down as many details as possible."
Luna thought for a moment before saying, "Your defense has become quite thin, you know? You’ve been telling the others that the familiars know this. While it’s true, the effectiveness of that excuse has gradually weakened.
"I bet some of them have suspected that you are the one who knows this, but they don’t intend to confront you... yet."
Luna was one of the two people who knew about the secret of his body. So, she was slightly worried that the girls would cause trouble for Nathan.
"Do you want me to tell them that they shouldn’t suspect it? Maybe until you decide to tell them yourself? Hearing that from me should make them feel at ease."
Nathan shook his head. "I intend to tell you everything, but just not now. It’s good that the excuse has become less effective. They can suspect me for now. By the time the excuse no longer works, I hope that I can finally be honest with them..."
Nathan wasn’t exactly worried. He had married all of them, so he could believe they would stay with him.
He just didn’t have the right time to tell them about it. In fact, he intended to tell them about the fact that he came to this world at the end of their honeymoon.
If not for the sudden attack from Yog-Sothoth, he would have been honest.
But thanks to the change of plan, Nathan ended up pushing it back until he could find another opportunity.
Luna sighed. "Well, if you really want to, we can just convene a meeting so that we can discuss all of this."
"Yeah, but I don’t want them to think about it, especially in this situation. We are rushing to forge our divine bodies, so if the thought about me ends up slowing them down... I just can’t forgive myself."
"You’re such a worrywart." Luna patted his back. "Well, I will help you until you find the right time. But make sure you finally tell them, alright?"
"I will." Nathan nodded.
"Good. Now, go. Your break time is over. Go back to write."
Nathan smiled wryly. He first kissed her before taking his leave.
He had to go around checking everyone’s progress before returning to his own task.
Meanwhile, Flora was sitting in front of her father again. It wasn’t just her. Sera, Bella, and Selena were actually sitting in front of the representatives of all four kingdoms.
Flora began her explanation. "What I’m about to tell you is so shocking that it may cause chaos. People might fall into despair, but it’s definitely your duty to know about it, Father."
King Julius was astounded. Her tone this time was different from the ones in all her previous visits.
"Is it related to that incident far above the sky?"
"Yes." Flora nodded. "First of all, I would like to mention our plan. I will tell you why after you understand the whole plan."
King Julius nodded.
"I am planning to create an embassy."
"Embassy?"
"Yes. It’s a new department that will manage who enters the kingdom and who leaves."
"Hmm?" King Julius crossed his arms. "We have been managing that."
"Actually, no. Right now, people can easily come to another kingdom and return from another kingdom. It may not cause a problem right now, but what I’m preparing for is the connection with another continent."
"!!!" King Julius widened his eyes. "You mean..."
"Yes. The Erendtall continent, of course, but we’re intending to extend it to the Qion continent. Unfortunately, we’ve confirmed that Myrall has been completely destroyed. Maybe there will be a chance to reclaim that continent, but not now."
"I see. We are competing with other kingdoms, but that might change after having a connection to other continents..." King Julius understood the implication of having a way to connect with the countries beyond the sea.
Flora nodded. "That’s why you need the embassy. A new department... maybe a new ministry that will handle this connection. But their role doesn’t lie only in the registration. They are to collect information about that person to find them trustworthy or even as an agent of peace that will protect the citizens of our country in another land."
"I think I’m getting you now. So, what’s the plan?"
