Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1758: Hidden Room

Chapter 1758: Hidden Room

"Follow me!" Fenrir rushed forward.

"Oi. Wait!" Jinwu chased after him, not knowing what Fenrir had in mind.

"Should we scout the area ahead? There might be traps." Mae asked.

"Do you think traps will work against these guys?" Nathan chuckled, pointing at Fenrir and Jinwu.

"Well..." Mae smiled. A normal trap definitely wouldn’t work. This secret room must have been built before aliens invaded this world. That was why it should be fine to let them be.

In the end, Mae’s worry came true. There were multiple traps activated because of Fenrir, but none of them worked against a divine beast.

Poison arrows and other arrows simply couldn’t pierce Fenrir’s skin.

The corridor was quite long. They had to turn several times and seemed to be descending for quite some time.

According to Mae, they had actually gone below the ziggurat. It was quite surprising that the tunnel would be this long, but traps had been scattered all around the tunnel.

It took them several minutes before they reached the door at the end of the path.

"Where is this place?" Nathan muttered, looking at the door. The corridor suddenly expanded, so he was quite surprised by what he found. This time, the trace of energy became more apparent.

"If this door didn’t exist, the energy would have been spread around." Fenrir smiled.

"So, what is this?" Nathan asked with a serious expression. He carefully approached the door and pushed it slowly.

Suddenly, his vision brightened, not because there was a source of light inside, but because he saw much gold inside.

"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes in surprise. "It’s actually... the treasury."

Mae took a peek. "Asura actually hid this place behind his throne?"

"I would say that Asura must have a severe hoarding disorder." Nathan chuckled. He opened the door wide, showing the entire treasury.

Mountains of gold coins were scattered across the room. There wasn’t anything big in this place, but the amount of treasure hidden in this room was simply unbelievable.

There were armor and weapons lying on top of the gold coins. They might be rusty, but Nathan could see many ’scars’ on the equipment, showing their tales.

Fenrir simply ran to the deeper part of the treasury.

Jinwu perched on Nathan’s shoulder. "To think that he has been hiding all this from everyone. Still, I don’t understand how it’s able to gather energy."

"Most likely, it’s because of the energy gathered in this domain. After some time, the exposed items will also gain this energy. This place has been influenced by at least a few hundred years." Mae raised her finger, explaining the possibility.

"Hmm..." Nathan crossed his arms. "Not everything, though."

"Of course. It might be just equipment that is compatible with the energy in this domain."

"That’s definitely interesting. I guess we have to bring all this out..." Jinwu glanced at Nathan.

The treasury might be useful, but after looking at the rusty equipment, Jinwu wasn’t sure anymore.

"We should bring everything out, even if they’re useless. As the wise man says, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure." Nathan smiled.

"Well, I should start packing then." Jinwu nodded. He flew away, using his mobility to move around the room while storing everything in sight.

"Don’t forget to notify me if there’s something unique or powerful. It might be useful."

"Understood."

Nathan and Mae continued at their own pace, scanning the room to see if there was anything special.

However, nothing seemed to catch their eyes yet. In the end, they reached the end of the room, finding Fenrir excitedly waiting for them.

"Here, here!" Fenrir wiggled his tail while shouting. He was standing in front of a huge vase. The vase itself might have had some artistic value, but it was useless in Nathan’s eyes.

Still, the one that caught his eye was the aura emitted from this vase. This power was not insignificant. In fact, this might be the energy that he had been sensing after entering this room. It was the same energy that Fenrir immediately sensed as soon as he entered the secret passage.

"What is this?" Nathan asked.

"I don’t know," Fenrir answered with an innocent expression.

"W-What?! You don’t know?" Nathan was bewildered. How could he not know when he looked that excited? Besides, his expression told him he recognized the item.

"You don’t know anything? If that’s the case, why are you looking so happy?" Mae asked. "I don’t think it’s something like you’re happy because you found a treasure, right?"

Fenrir nodded. "I don’t know the item, but I know the energy. Try to feel it. You will be able to sense an energy out of this world."

Nathan and Mae exchanged looks. They approached the vase and tried to sense the energy more carefully.

"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes.

"So, that’s how it is..." Mae nodded in understanding.

"I want this vase. If I have this vase as well as your Soul Contract, I think I can evolve!"

Nathan had been increasing their progress by using the Soul Contract, so the numbers were already pretty high. It was especially true for Fenrir. His numbers were the highest among the familiars.

Fenrir believed that the energy from this vase combined with the energy from the Soul Contract would be enough for him to evolve.

If that were true, this was huge news. Fenrir might not necessarily become a true god all of a sudden.

But his body definitely transformed into something that could accept the power of a true god.

Nathan thought for a moment. On the one hand, having Fenrir evolve would be good for the team. On the other hand, he wondered if this was the time for his evolution.

Nathan suddenly remembered that there was a method that could solve the problem.

He looked at Fenrir with a serious expression. "Are you sure you want to evolve now, Fenrir?"

"Of course." Fenrir nodded.

"We don’t have time. Besides, his evolution might cause a big disturbance," Mae warned Nathan.

"I know." Nathan thought for a moment before saying, "Jinwu, I need to ask you to handle something for me. It is very important and has to be done quickly."
