Chapter 1812: Navigator
Chapter 1812: Navigator
"So, this is an alien..." Nathan examined the huge body. It was still on fire, showing that it had yet to be cooled down. After all, the space rings had been upgraded to space-time rings.
The flow of time within the space rings had been stopped as well, so the body temperature didn’t decrease.
"I guess we will have to face more weird aliens like this." Nathan crossed his arms.
"That’s what I thought." Luna agreed. Sera added, "The biggest problem will be the number. It’s fortunate that there was only one alien like this. If we go to another planet, we might encounter more than one alien like this. Their strength might not be terrifying, but they’re going to be troublesome."
Nathan pondered what he should do with the body. "Well, should we store the body for now? When we return, we can ask Gregory to remove the black cell before using it as a sacrifice."
"I don’t mind, but we can actually go home for a bit."
Nathan chuckled. "It’s not that easy. Evelyn and I have reinforced the portals so that they can accept people like us. If the portal can easily bring all of us to this planet, it also means that an alien like this can easily enter ours.
"Ah!" Sera scratched the back of her head. "You’re right."
"I will need a day to reinforce it with Evelyn so that all of us can do one jump. That’s why it’s impossible for you to go back easily. Unless we’re able to create our own teleportation circle."
"I see. Fine, I won’t talk about it anymore." Sera waved her hand, knowing she was wrong.
Nathan thought for a moment. "Anyway, please store the alien’s body for now."
Luna nodded and activated the space ring. Meanwhile, Sera asked, "By the way, Nathan, how does the portal really work? Does this world only have two portals?"
"I don’t know. As for how the portal works..." Nathan raised his hand as his fingertip shone dimly.
He first drew two lines next to each other. "Think of it like this. There are multiple roads to other planets. Each line is like a branch. It, of course, has multiple sub-branches.
"A portion of sub-branches will extend themselves toward another branch, which allows them to teleport to the other branch instead of their own. The rest are simply free sub-branches. It will end with them.
"Now, imagine there are tens, if not hundreds, of branches. It will connect to each other, making a very complex maze."
"Oh!" Sera looked up. "Are we at the end of the branches?"
"We don’t know. We might be just one of the free sub-branches. However, because there are so many portals on our planet..." Nathan snapped his fingers. The branches started to multiply, gradually covering their planet like a spiderweb. "It might be like this."
"..." Sera looked surprised. "And this is just one of the worlds? The other worlds might be like this as well?"
"Maybe."
"Doesn’t this mean it’ll be hard to find the correct portal? Who knows whether we will become closer or not."
"Indeed. Which is why..." Nathan pointed to the side.
Mae glanced at them before waving with a smile.
"Mae? Is she reading the stars?"
"Yes. We need to know where we are, so she is a great help. Garuda and a few others have also fought the aliens, so they can roughly guess where we are, especially if we encounter something that is noticeable by them." Nathan nodded.
"That’s rather confusing." Sera clutched her head.
"Hahaha. It’s not when you’re used to it." Nathan chuckled. "Anyway, we are probably just one of the many worlds they manage to reach.
"There are also planets they might have reached but have yet to conquer. We will try to rescue those planets. Of course, we help them so that they can help us. I’m not a selfless hero.
"If they have powerful fighters, we can recruit them. I’m expecting that strong fighters can only be found somewhere near our worlds. Those that are closer to the alien worlds might have been wiped out. Due to the distance, they will be the first targets after all.
"Still, the black cell might have been monitoring everything closely, so it’s paying attention to the progress of each planet.
"Our planet just happens to be related to Earth, which allows an explosive growth because of the Summoners War plan.
"In any case, if we can find gods or true gods, try to recruit them as our allies. If it’s not possible, then just maintain neutrality. We don’t want to have the need to watch our backs after all.
"That’s the condition of the portals as well as the warping process."
Sera furrowed her brow. "Still, how do you locate us?"
"Using the stars. Even with the full power of the fastest mount in the universe, Garuda, it’ll take too long to reach the alien world. So, we have to utilize the portals. The only problem is to find the right portal.
"We need to spread out and find all the portals in this world before choosing which one we should go to," explained Nathan.
"I see. I don’t fully understand, but I will just leave it to Mae." Sera chuckled. "At least I know the situation about the portals."
"Well, yes." Nathan continued, "If you don’t have other questions, can you start searching for portals? The planet might not be too big, but searching for the portals is still quite hard."
"I know." Sera waved her hand while walking away.
Luna nodded to Nathan before following Sera.
Nathan had another plan as well. His true target was not a normal god, but a true god. They were the ones who could make a difference in the battle against outer gods.
The problem was how many outer gods he would have to fight.
He might have to face both Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth alone because of his luck, or because he just didn’t want the girls to be in danger.
Nevertheless, he also needed to focus on searching for the portals.
