"Luna! Watch out!"
Luna shifted her gaze to the left.
A huge silhouette rose from the lava. Its body reached the sky. Its hand alone could cover a big hill.
The silhouette looked like a human, but its body, arms, and legs were extremely thin. Its head was oval, like a balloon, not showing any characteristic of a human other than the overall shape.
It waved its hand like a whip and smacked Luna.
Luna reinforced her barrier immediately as the hand hit her.
Bam!
"Kh." Luna gritted her teeth with one eye closed. She managed to stop the attack, but this kind of power was extremely unusual. "What kind of monster is this?"
Luna extended her arm forward. Multiple magic circles formed, but because the sun burned the magic circles, her formation became unstable.
Still, it generated enough force to knock the hand away.
She could finally take a good look at what kind of monster that suddenly attacked her.
The body was burning and melting, but there was still flesh on it. It was as if the skin and flesh were constantly melting and repairing.

"Huooo!" The silhouette noticed her power and unleashed a loud howl.
The howl vibrated violently, causing a massive crack in her barrier. "What? This power..."
The silhouette raised both arms this time, trying to smash the barrier.
Luna clapped her hands once as multiple magic circles formed around the enemy’s arms. These magic circles formed barriers that would shackle the two arms in place.
But as expected, the sun hindered her power, making it brittle.
The silhouette let out another howl, cracking the barriers.
’It’s going to shatter.’ Luna clicked her tongue.
Fortunately, Sera came right after and activated her power. "Power of Heat, Power of Cold! Duality Divinity."
Suddenly, the barriers dropped the temperature significantly as though it had become frozen. The change in temperature solidified the barriers as well as harming the enemy.
"What is that thing?"
"That’s... an alien. That howl contained its unique power."
"An alien? But this kind of power..." Sera gasped. "It’s already at the apex class, right? It’s already at the gate, so how come it hasn’t entered our world?"
"I’m afraid this alien..." Before Luna could finish her words, she and Sera jumped away as the alien chose to stomp instead.
Luna continued, "Evelyn said the portals are not strong enough to withstand the power of an apex class, but the portals are absorbing the energy from the planet they reside, so they get stronger as time passes.
"I’m afraid the second portal on this planet, the one we’re searching for, is strong enough to withstand that power.
"If not, then this alien has mutated or grown stronger. I mean, have you seen an alien like this?"
"No." Sera shook her head. "The aliens are known to have high resistance to all kinds of elements, but are they mutating by basking in the sun for too long?"
"I guess there will be a lot more weird aliens like this one as we travel to other worlds." Luna took a deep breath. "Support me. Let’s take it down!"
"Got it!"
It was in an environment that didn’t favor them. In addition, their enemy had fully adapted to this power.
Although they could summon their respective familiars, both of them thought that they were more than enough to handle one apex class alien.
Luna leaped into the air and raised her right hand. Many magic circles appeared at the same time, forming a massive formation.
The alien broke free from its shackles and extended both arms toward her.
Sera released her energy and muttered while closing her eyes. "Strength and Weakness. Establishing the order! Duality Enhancement."
Sera sent her power not only to Luna but also to the alien.
"!!!" The alien suddenly felt its movement becoming sluggish. That was right. He was hit by the power of weakness. Meanwhile, Luna’s power was enhanced by the power of strength.
"Luna’s Origin Circle, Echedtar Impact."
The formation shot out a powerful burst of energy, hitting the alien. The hands were the first ones to receive the attack.
The alien immediately let out another howl to stop this attack, but it could only weaken it for a bit.
Luna’s attack was still strong enough to cause the hands to splatter to the ground as it continued toward the alien’s body.
The alien tried to withstand this power, but to no avail. The burst of energy created a massive hole in its chest.
However, the alien was much more stubborn than any aliens they had encountered so far. It continued to move as though it felt no pain.
Then again, with dying and reviving again and again on this planet, the alien’s resilience was something that was rarely seen even among humans.
"I need the power of cold!" Luna shouted as she made a hand sign.
Magic circles formed around the alien’s body this time. They sent out massive chains.
"Power of Heat, Power of Cold! Duality Divinity."
She applied power to the chain.
Steam, which soon disappeared because of the intense heat from the sun, appeared around the chains. It cooled down the alien’s body, making it harder but brittle.
"Raaaa!" The alien let out a cry to weaken this power, but Luna simply clenched her fist. "Shatter!"
The chains tightened so hard that they crushed the alien’s body. Its massive body crumbled into pieces and started to fall down to the ground.
Luna immediately flew toward the body, using her power to preserve it. She also recovered the alien core. "We need to tell Nathan and the others about this."
Sera agreed, but she also had a question. "But is this the only alien here? Are there other aliens who have mutated in this place?"
"..." Luna and Sera looked at each other. Now that Sera mentioned it, there might be more aliens on this side of the world.
Luna said, "If there are, can’t they enter our world?"
"Well, most of them might have died, but those who survive should have cooled down by the time they enter our world, right? It will just be mutated aliens, not burning mutated aliens like this one..."
Luna couldn’t exactly argue with her. "Well, should we fly around a bit longer?"
