Chapter 1823: Trouble
Chapter 1823: Trouble
"May I know the real reason for you coming here? It’s true that you’re planning to go to the alien world, but you could have passed this world without needing to stop here." Thuka asked.
"Certainly. Our opponent is extremely powerful. More powerful than you can imagine. How much do you know about our true enemy?"
"Hmm..." Thuka crossed his arms. "I’m not sure what you’re talking about. The greatest opponent recorded in this world’s history is a being called Roscfocix. It’s a powerful being that requires my predecessor working together with another protector to defeat.
"However, both of them ended up getting heavily injured in that battle. My predecessor in particular had to speed up my training to become his successor."
"I see." Nathan nodded in understanding. From the looks of it, their opponent was at one level higher than an apex class.
Nathan had never faced someone like this, but with him evolving and increasing the amount of energy of his familiars, he had become much stronger than when he was a mortal.
So, Nathan summoned Mae and asked, "Can you show them Yog-Sothoth’s descent?"
"Understood." Mae nodded and raised her hand, creating an illusion from Nathan’s memory.
Yog-Sothoth’s overwhelming power upon his descent appeared out of thin air. The pressure and the horrifying feeling were transferred as well.
"!!!" Thuka couldn’t help but widen his eyes in shock. He had never seen a being as terrible as this. He felt that even if there were a hundred of him, he wouldn’t be able to win against this monster. "Is this their strongest warrior?"
"It is one of the strongest warriors from their side."
"Only one?" Thuka gasped. "Your world..."
"Ah, please don’t mind it. He hasn’t descended yet. This is one of the myriad possibilities that I manage to get from using my power."
"Possibility..." Thuka felt a chill down his spine. He never thought that the aliens would be so powerful. He was already complacent when he reached the god realm.
He thought that this world would be eternally safe.
"While this being is terrifying, our true enemy is not that being. Instead, a parasitic cell that is able to control this being."
"A parasitic cell?"
"Yes. It’s called the black cell. It’s a parasitic being that has surpassed logic and become a singularity."
"Well, for a cell that can control a being like this..." Thuka could understand why it became a singularity. Still, it was truly terrifying. How could someone control a being of this level?
"Right now, the black cell is wary of me. It’s intending to send Yog-Sothoth to destroy me and my world. To avoid that, I have to leave my world." Nathan noticed Thuka turning pale and immediately said, "Please don’t worry about your world. As long as I don’t stay here for too long, I will be fine. I’m planning to leave soon. As I mentioned previously, this world is just one of the many stops."
"Ah!" Thuka felt embarrassed that his worries were read by Nathan.
Nathan explained, "Right now, my plan is to hop from one planet to another, hopefully searching for planets that would want to fight alongside me. If they don’t want to, then I will do the second best thing."
"The second-best thing?"
"It’s trading. I’d like to trade for anything I can get, especially one that can increase our power. For example, the Spirit Circle is one of the few things that I’m interested in. My power is far from enough, so as I approach the enemy’s world, I intend to get stronger and stronger. Hopefully, I will be strong enough before I reach there."
Thuka thought for a moment. "So, do you wish to have my Spirit Circle?"
"The technique is fine, and I’m willing to trade it for what I possess."
"What if I ask that method of yours to summon such a powerful being..." Thuka glanced at Mae, who was also at their level.
Nathan smiled. "I don’t mind. However, I will need to warn you out of goodwill that this world hasn’t been transformed into something that will be suitable for this kind of power.
"Many worlds have been integrated with my world, so we have plenty of warriors from the past who are willing to fight with us against the aliens. Meanwhile, this world is alone."
"..." Thuka contemplated. As he said, Nathan gave him warning purely out of goodwill. After all, if he agreed with the trade, Nathan wouldn’t be losing out. "I see."
"Well, I do have a few things to trade. For example, forging manuals from a race that dedicates its entire life to forging, or a weapon that could use energy even though the person doesn’t have energy, or a ring that can store objects where they can’t rot."
Thuka looked surprised. All of them were quite something. They could be worth a lot, especially for their worlds.
If the quality of their weapons increased, their power might also increase. However, that depended on how good the quality they would produce after getting the purchasing manuals.
After all, he believed that this world’s quality was already quite high. However, compared to the world that produced so many gods and goddesses, they might not be at the same standard.
So, Thuka couldn’t help but think, "As a person who has been invaded by those aliens, I, too, would like to aid you in this fight. Unfortunately, there is no one who can replace me here.
"Instead, I am willing to trade what I’ve made in this life. Since you want my life knowledge about the Spirit Circle, I’ll give it to you. However, may I have some time to think about what this world really wants?"
Nathan nodded. "Of course. We have some time. According to my speculation, as long as I don’t stay for a month in one world, it’s fine."
"I appreciate it. I’d like to—" Thuka suddenly stopped and looked at the window as if he was staring at what was happening outside.
Even Nathan took a side glance while Mae reported, "Looks like the girls are in trouble. I mean, the one who makes trouble for the girls is the one in trouble..."
