Chapter 1832: Great Mist
Chapter 1832: Great Mist
Nathan sat down on top of the mansion. The tribe apparently had closed everything.
They made sure the windows were completely shut. The farm had stopped producing for a few weeks.
Everyone made sure that they were hidden from the outside.
"Hmm..." Nathan narrowed his eyes.
"It does look like they’re avoiding the mist." Selena appeared next to him.
"Yeah, but..." Nathan felt the increasing amount of energy from the ground.
Suddenly, the ground violently shook.
"An earthquake?" Selena looked down.
"Probably. It will create a crack on the surface. Some volcanoes in this world might even release it." Nathan nodded.
"Look. There is one crack!" Selena pointed to the left.
The soil cracked, and a white mist leaked out of the ground. The massive stream of mist gradually filled the air.
If it had been just one crack, it would have been manageable.
However, the entire world was experiencing the same thing. As a result, the mist was produced even faster.
The mist gradually thickened, and it would soon cover the entire world.
"This is what happens when the Great Mist comes." Thuka came to them before politely greeting them. "Good morning."
Selena nodded politely while Nathan said, "The mist does indeed carry such a large amount of energy, but it looks like the mist itself doesn’t contain the energy. It just carries the energy and scatters it in the air."
"Indeed." Thuka confirmed it. "The world is spewing all that energy, and the medium to spread it is the mist. That’s why it’s called the Great Mist. However, until now, we don’t know how the mist is produced."
"Acting like a living being, produced from the unknown. The Great Mist... I guess it’s a name meant for the being that generates the mist." Nathan wondered if there were any scientific explanations for the mist generation.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t a scientist, and his knowledge was shallow.
"Indeed, but most people don’t understand it and just focus on the mist itself."
Nathan stood up. "I guess it’s time to go to that place. I’m quite curious about the portals."
"Certainly. It usually takes a few hours to completely cover the world with mist. And this kind of mist will last for two weeks," explained Thuka.
"But from the looks of it, everyone can benefit from the mist. Looking at this tribe, people are absorbing the mist..."
"Yes. There is too much energy in the mist, so if they absorb that energy, they will die. However, if they close everything and absorb the lingering energy that penetrates their house, they will grow stronger fast."
"A double-edged sword, huh?"
"Indeed." Thuka extended his hand, pointing toward the forest. "How about we make a move now before the mist covers the entire world? Misty Frost and Alahambad Warrior should be waiting at the entrance of the Great Mist Forest."
"Very well." Nathan understood that he was anxious. After all, it was a matter of the world’s stability. "Selena, can you—"
Nathan looked to the side but noticed that Selena had smoothly left his side. Instead, all the girls came out a few seconds later.
"I’ve brought everyone." Selena smiled.
Nathan scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Selena had actually left the moment Thuka came, knowing that he intended to ask them to go fulfill their promises. So she left to call the other girls.
"Thanks. Let’s go, shall we?"
All of them nodded as Thuka led the way to the Great Mist Forest, the forest that trapped the mist as well as the portals.
As Thuka said, the two gods had waited for them at the entrance.
After that conflict, there was an awkwardness between Nathan’s group and the Alahambad Warrior.
The warrior even looked a bit uncomfortable, thinking that he wanted to settle the conflict another way.
However, Nathan smiled and clasped his hand as if he were imitating their traditions. "Greetings, Misty Frost, Alahambad Warrior."
"It’s nice to see you again, Dimensional Transcendent." Misty Frost clasped her hands and nodded to him.
Startled by the warm greeting, Alahambad Warrior felt embarrassed that he held a grudge over something that had been sorted. In a way, he was the one in the wrong. He rarely looked over his disciples, so he didn’t expect that there were some troublesome disciples who made his name bad.
The previous problem was like a wake-up call for him.
The Alahambad Warrior hurriedly clasped his wooden hands. "Greetings."
"I’m going to check the portal here." Nathan turned to the girls.
"Sure. I’ll lead them to take down both aliens at the same time." Selena smiled.
"Eh? Will they be fine? They’re strong. Even if we are working together, it’ll still be quite hard to defeat them." Misty Frost asked.
"You don’t have to worry about that." Nathan waved his hand, reassuring her.
"Indeed. We are not alone after all." Selena summoned her avatars. The others also did the same to show that they were fighting with others.
Selena had Risa, Ying Zhen, Amphitrite, Lilith, and Nyx with her. Sera had Asmodeus, Brunhild, Raphael, and Janus. Alavenya summoned three familiars: Chiyou, Light Butterfly Goddess, and Immortal Beetle.
Flora had six spirits with her, and Nathan intended to make sure all her spirits evolve, so there would be more in the future. Noelle had Thanatos and Duke Murmur.
Bella had the Mist Wolf, Water Elemental King, and Morpheus, while Vivian brought out Dryad Queen, Elven Goddess, Spirit Goddess, and Gaia.
On the other hand, Evelyn only had the two familiars who usually fused with her, and Luna had an adamantine golem and Rukasha. Compared to the rest of the girls, both of them focused solely on their capabilities rather than their familiars.
Nathan smiled. All of them were more than capable of fighting against those two aliens. Even if a lot of them had just forged their divine bodies, some were bona fide gods or even true gods.
This was the start of their growth. Once they finished their conversion to divinity, they would grow even stronger.
"Please take care of the mission." Nathan waved his hand.
"Sure."
"See you later."
"We’re going."
They responded in their own way before they left the world.
