Chapter 1841: Refined Fight
Chapter 1841: Refined Fight
Selena and the others were pushed back by the explosion as well. They covered their eyes while staring at the explosion.
All of them wanted to say the same thing. Did they do it?
Unfortunately, they couldn’t say it. After all, that would just jinx the situation. They knew their husband’s quirk.
It might be annoying in a way, but they had been saved by this quirk so many times. Besides, this was the reason they could become so strong in the first place. That was why they didn’t blame him.
They just kept looking until the blinding light disappeared.
"!!!" Selena widened her eyes. "Even that is not enough?"
The alien was actually still alive. Half of its body had been destroyed and 40% of its tentacles were gone.
But the body was still moving, showing that it still had enough strength to move. The black cell was also trying to repair its body.
Selena shouted, "No, keep attacking! Don’t stop!"
The girls turned solemn. Without hesitation, they charged toward the alien.
Even though the alien managed to survive, the damage wasn’t small. Its movement became sluggish.
Although it was able to hit them from time to time, the damage wasn’t severe. Besides, Raphael continued to use his divinity to heal the team.
Alavenya didn’t know how many times her bones cracked, but it didn’t lower the intensity of her attack. She played her role as a vanguard, creating many chances for the group to hit the alien directly.
Fortunately, Brunhild and Ying Zhen also helped her. While both of them couldn’t be compared to Alavenya, who was using the Second Origin and fused with Xingtian, their power was enough to cut down a few tentacles and stop Alavenya from getting surrounded by the tentacles.
Vivian was quite relaxed on the back. She maintained control of the woods.
While it was draining her energy, she was pretty much controlling everything from a safe distance.
Still, without her, they would be in a lot of trouble fighting this alien.
Nevertheless, Selena and Luna attacked the aliens. From time to time, they combined their powers, dealing a massive amount of damage to the alien.
Gradually but surely, the black cell regeneration couldn’t keep up.
In the end, 70% of the tentacles were gone. The alien’s body had almost been destroyed. In fact, the alien core had been exposed for a while.
It was fortunate that they managed to deal a killing blow and finally kill this alien.
They never thought that the alien would be this strong. The amount of power it borrowed from the black cell was beyond their expectation.
While looking at the alien’s corpse, Selena muttered, "We need to inform Nathan about this."
"Yeah. The strength of this alien is not normal. If they can truly offer more lifespan, we might have to face even stronger aliens than our original expectation. The biggest problem will be those Outer Gods." Luna nodded.
"At that time, we won’t know whether we can defeat them or not." Selena sighed. "I wonder if this is because of Nathan’s luck."
"What do you mean?" Luna tilted her head in confusion.
"This trip is to kill the black cell, right? Doesn’t that mean the situation has just gotten worse for that kind of mission?" Selena shook her head helplessly, having a headache imagining the kind of strength the aliens would possess from this point onward.
"That’s..." Luna scratched the back of her head. "I feel like it’s going to get even worse?"
"I know, right? Our dear husband and his luck..." Selena chuckled. "Either way, we just have to get even stronger."
"Indeed." Luna looked around. "This time, the alien’s strength is at the same level as ours. And it takes all of us to defeat it."
"I know. I don’t think it’s possible for just one of us to defeat the aliens. At most, we need a group of three to somehow handle one alien of the same level, of course, with our respective familiars." Selena nodded.
"Even with that, the injuries will be quite severe. Right now, we have Alavenya. Next time, we don’t know who will get hurt." Luna crossed her arms. "It looks like we need to adjust our strategy further."
"I’ll tell Nathan about that. The closer we are to the alien world, the stronger the aliens are. However, if those worlds still survive, those people should be strong as well. That’s why we have a chance to recruit them as allies later."
"A war with numbers. And there’s also the mysterious Outer God who we suspect has the information on how to defeat the black cell." Luna narrowed her eyes.
"Nyarlathotep, huh?" Selena shrugged. "Let’s just take one step at a time."
"Yeah. Let’s clean up."
"Sure."
While the others were able to finish their battles in a few hours due to the resilience of the aliens, Nathan’s fight was actually much more surprising.
Thuka still couldn’t believe what was happening before his eyes.
’How can this be? All these divine beasts... They’re able to suppress the alien. I thought a fight between gods would cause massive devastation to this world.
’Yet for some reason, the divine beasts are able to suppress the aliens so that their fight wouldn’t cause that much destruction. It’s easy to go all out and release a power like that one from earlier, but it’s even harder to refine that fight in a way that it won’t harm anything around them.
’It requires both control and base strength beyond what we have.’ Thuka felt a chill down his spine.
He realized that he might have underestimated Nathan. In addition, all the true gods hadn’t even made their moves.
Little did he know, the reason they were able to contain this fight was because of Nathan’s promise. He would reward those who contributed the most.
Obviously, they were already aware of Nathan’s usual traps. Nathan was basically telling them that if they destroyed this world, they would get a deduction point.
That was why they had to be careful when fighting.
And with their superior power, they actually took down this alien in just one and a half hours.
