Chapter 1842: Worse
Chapter 1842: Worse
Thuka and the others watched how Nathan killed the alien in amazement. This was the first time they had seen such an effortless fight against a god-level alien.
Nathan glanced at them and said, "This is outside the agreement, but it’s fine for me to take both the body and the core, right?"
With Nathan’s strength, there was no need for him to ask, not to mention the fact that he was the one who killed this alien.
They didn’t help at all.
"Of course." Thuka raised his hand, gesturing to him not to mind them at all.
Nathan raised his head. "It looks like they’re still fighting."
Ananta nodded in agreement. "Yes, but don’t worry. There is not a single possibility where they lose. As long as they don’t lower their guard, everything will be fine.
"Thank you for helping this world." Thuka clasped his hands.
The others followed suit, thanking Nathan. They didn’t know what kind of horrible battle they had to face if this alien entered this world without Nathan. There was a chance for other aliens to realize its existence as well and join the fight.
After another two hours, Evelyn returned to the world, taking out the big alien’s body for everyone to see.
Selena’s team returned not long after since they couldn’t return with a teleportation circle.
"We’re back!" Sera waved her hand.
"Welcome back. Good work." Nathan nodded with a smile.
"By the way, there’s something you might want to know, my dear." Sera came closer to Nathan with a cheeky smile.
"Was there something wrong with your fight?"
"Yes." Sera nodded. "The power of this alien was more extraordinary than we expected. We couldn’t help but speculate that the alien could exchange its lifespan at a higher rate for more power."
"Really?" Nathan raised his eyebrows.
"Why don’t you ask Mae to apply an illusion based on our memory to watch the battle? Maybe, with the alien that the other group fought as a comparison?"
Nathan crossed his arms, contemplating. On the one hand, it looked like something they needed to review. On the other hand, he wondered if he should show it to everyone, including Thuka and the others.
Then again, Thuka and the others were also fighting against the black cell, so it would be good to share information as much as possible. Besides, this information wouldn’t bring disadvantages to their original world.
Nathan ultimately summoned Mae. Bella could use illusion, but the nature of her illusion was based on her own imagination, turning it into reality. After all, she learned more from Morpheus than from Mae.
Although she could extract their memories, she couldn’t make a complete illusion that had the depth, the sound, or other details like Mae.
Thuka and the others were stupefied when they saw the fight.
Evelyn’s group took down the alien in the safest way. They didn’t sustain a lot of injuries during the fight. That was why it took them quite a while to defeat the alien.
However, it was clear that the alien died because of an overwhelming offense from Evelyn’s group. If not, the fight would last even longer.
After becoming gods, they had yet to face a fight that could push them to their limits. They didn’t know how long they could fight.
Nevertheless, they understood the standard of god-level aliens. The strength of the alien Evelyn’s group faced was indeed similar to the one Nathan fought.
However, their perspective changed when they watched the last battle. Selena’s group possessed overwhelming power. Although the alien was strong, Selena managed to lead her team perfectly.
It all changed the moment the alien went berserk.
"Hoh?" Nathan narrowed his eyes. To analyze the fight, he had summoned all the familiars whom he had recalled earlier.
"This is..." Tiamat narrowed her eyes.
Garuda said, "I have never seen anything like this before."
"Indeed. When Lord Vishnu fought them, they were strong, but not this strong." Ananta nodded.
As one of the few gods who had fought against the aliens in their previous lives, they could recall the enemy’s strength. With their strength, they should have faced many god-level aliens before they died.
"No?" Nathan squinted.
"No." Garuda shook his head.
"So, is it something like the second generation of aliens?" Nathan couldn’t help but consider this possibility. After fighting for so long, it was normal for them to develop something new.
Even the black cell had used humans like the Godfather to invade the world, not just aliens.
That was why it wouldn’t be weird to see the black cell improving its own method.
"..." The others turned grim, realizing that their battles might become harder from this point onward.
"Won’t Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth become even stronger with this method?" Fenrir asked.
"You don’t need to say that." Xolotl smacked Fenrir’s head.
"What do you think? What made this alien able to draw even more power?" Nathan asked Tiamat.
"I can’t exactly say how yet." Tiamat squinted. "However, I can say that this is not by infusing more lifespan. If it increases, the harmony should be disturbed, right?"
Qilin nodded. "Yes. Once aliens go berserk, they will release their lifespans in exchange for authorities from the black cell. The sudden increase will disrupt the harmony to a certain extent. While each alien is not exactly the same, they’re rather similar. On the other hand, the disruption on this alien was close to double the average."
"Can you figure out the reason?"
"I can think of two reasons, but there might be other reasons that I don’t know. It’s either a new technique or the improvement of the former one."
Tiamat nodded in agreement. "I think it is more of the latter. The method is similar, and the state is almost identical. If you look at how it fought after going berserk, it moved by following its instinct."
Nathan fell silent. There was one possibility that he didn’t want to say because he would jinx it.
What if the aliens actually found a way to actually go berserk without losing their minds?
