Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1870: Another Trade

Chapter 1870: Another Trade

The emperor remained silent for a minute. It looked like they didn’t expect to be this powerful.

The emperor said, "Are you sure there is a being like that?"

"Indeed. Right now, I only know two. The black cell is in the process of taking over the two strongest beings in this universe, Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth. Yog-Sothoth is a being that governs spacetime. Those portals are its creations.

"Azathoth, on the other hand, governs this reality. It can be said that it is the reality itself."

The emperor frowned. "If that being is reality itself, doesn’t that mean killing it will destroy our reality?"

"Indeed. However, we have no choice. If the black cell is able to fully control Azathoth, it’s going to be over for us anyway."

"That’s a rather hard question. We not only have to defeat the black cell, but we have to make sure that this reality doesn’t collapse."

"Exactly. I do have some thoughts in mind, but nothing concrete yet. However, there might be a clue, which I’m unable to disclose right now. You can say that there is a potential ally that has the solution to that, but I can’t confirm nor deny this one." Nathan shook his head helplessly.

The emperor asked, "In that case, what do you want from us?"

Nathan raised one finger. "I propose a trade."

"A trade?"

"Yes." Nathan nodded.

The emperor frowned. On the one hand, this trade might be useful for them. On the other hand, they didn’t know what Nathan actually wanted from them.

Hence, the emperor suggested, "How about this? I can agree to the trade, but rather than doing it normally, how about we list everything we want to trade and enter the negotiation after we know what we want to buy from each other?"

Nathan crossed his arms. "It’s not exactly a bad idea. In that case, how about letting us roam around? Maybe not just this planet but also other planets in the empire. Who knows? Perhaps we’ll find something useful, which we didn’t originally expect? Won’t it be better for the empire as well?"

"That’s also something worth considering." The emperor nodded in agreement. "However, we don’t exactly know what kind of thing you possess."

"Of course. That’s why I intend to propose a trade of something that you can use. Some of my power can’t be used by you, not because of our races, but because of the fundamentals of our home planets. You have no choice but to trust me on that."

The emperor didn’t exactly like Nathan’s statement. How could he trust the other party when they had just met?

However, it didn’t seem they had any other choice.

Nathan’s group was a threat that they had never faced before. Nathan might destroy them on a whim.

At the same time, this might lead to their new evolution, which would change the way they lived. It was worth trying.

In the end, she might be able to persuade Nathan to sell them during the negotiation.

"In that case, let us have a list of what we want to trade and what we’re willing to trade." The emperor ultimately agreed.

"Very well." Nathan smiled. "How about meeting again... let’s see, in seven days?"

"Sure, let’s do that." The emperor nodded.

"There is also one thing I’d like you to know. I don’t want to get dragged into whatever politics this place has." Nathan sighed.

The emperor realized that Nathan had visited multiple planets that had their original inhabitants.

She pointed to Devonio and Meredith. "Alpha Devonio shall be guiding you. I’ll entrust your safety and convenience to Alpha Devonio. If you have anything to ask, you can ask through him."

"That works." Nathan agreed.

"Alpha Devonio, for the next seven days, you shall do your best to serve our esteemed guests."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Devonio acknowledged the order.

"Very well. We shall meet again in seven days, esteemed guests."

Nathan nodded politely.

Devonio led them outside the castle, bringing the esteemed guests to their castle first.

Nathan didn’t say anything this time, considering the procedure seemed to be similar to the Azilia Kingdom.

Flora had been giving him a signal whether to argue or agree with them. This time, Devonio intended to bring them to his mansion to welcome them properly.

Nathan hadn’t made a proper examination of this world, so he intended to stay according to the rules, forcing these people to focus on him.

This way, Bella and the others could infiltrate the planet. They would be the ones who gathered most of the knowledge about this planet, allowing Nathan to suggest a trade that they wouldn’t expect.

Meanwhile, he intended to acquire everything legally through Devonio.

It didn’t take too long for them to reach Alpha Devonio’s mansion. The mansion itself looked like a cube with several dislocated ’extensions’ which added to the aesthetic.

Surprisingly, Zeta had been following them the whole time. Then again, Zeta was the first one to make a proper contact with him, so it was only natural if Zeta took over in case something went wrong.

Nathan and Devonio were discussing how they should proceed from tomorrow. Nathan decided to let Devonio arrange it first while he demanded a map to know the places he wanted to visit.

After reaching an agreement, Nathan finally retired for the day. Of course, he made sure that there was no surveillance.

Meanwhile, Devonio brought his daughter.

"Meredith. From tomorrow onwards, you shall be their guide. Do you understand the importance of this role?"

"Do you want me to seduce him?"

"Do you think you can do it? Those women are not ordinary, not to mention their beauty. I’m letting you take over because this is an opportunity to show your competence. Do things for them and get paid by the things they possess. The more you’re able to do it, the more our house will profit.

"This is an opportunity that all the houses want to get. That’s why I entrust it to you. I have to stay away so that the other houses don’t cause trouble for the next seven days."

Meredith nodded. "I understand."
