Chapter 1880: Deus Ex-Machina

Chapter 1880: Deus Ex-Machina

"Is it done?" Nathan asked, looking at the android in front of him. The machine had taken off the cable connected to it.

The android raised her head and opened her eyes. It looked like the transfer was done, but it was still rebooting.

Nathan could see the codes still being processed in her pupils.

After a few more minutes, the android finally spoke. "Confirmed."

Nathan couldn’t help but smile. "So, what can you do? Can you like... turn raw materials into goods from this planet?"

"I do have the blueprints, but I don’t have the machines that will assist me. However, I can gradually rebuild all those machines if you give me time."

"Well, Luna is here as well. I think you will get along." Nathan pointed to Luna.

Luna took out a spear that she had made. "This is something I made. It’s a primitive weapon compared to you, but I think you will understand something."

The machine scanned the spear and replied, "I understand. While it’s true that a spear is a primitive weapon, this particular spear has something unknown. It is particularly stronger than most weapons that ramanity currently possesses.

"However, I can see your beautiful craftsmanship. It’s very detailed to the microscopic level. I will start putting everything at the nano level. I believe you will find it charming."

"I’m looking forward to it." Luna nodded.

Nathan nodded, satisfied. "In that case, let’s go to an empty planet where we can briefly settle down. We can build a workshop and use the space ring to store them so that we can move it everywhere."

"Is it possible? No, I apologize. The way you took the spear out of nowhere has shown me that such a thing is possible."

"Well, yes." Nathan confirmed. "So, let’s do it that way."

"Please wait. I’d like to ask for my name first."

"Right? I have promised you a name." Nathan smiled. He thought he wouldn’t be using this name, but there was one name that might fit this one. "Deus Ex-Machina."

"Deus Ex-Machina?"

"Yes. In my language, it means god from the machine. People referred to you as Old God, so it might be perfect for you." Nathan smiled.

"Deus Ex-Machina. Registering the name. From now on, my name shall be Deus Ex-Machina."

"I will just call you Machina." Nathan smiled. "Since you have gotten your new body, how about we sign a new contract first?"

"Yes."

Nathan formed the contract for her. He had been thinking about the employment contract, but this was the best one he could think of for Machina.

"Deus Ex-Machina will now be Nathan Reckmoon’s property. Deus Ex-Machina shall not betray nor lie to Nathan Reckmoon.

"Deus Ex-Machina will follow Nathan Reckmoon’s Order. Nathan Reckmoon is unable to give unreasonable orders to Deus Ex-Machina.

"Deus Ex-Machina..."

Nathan continued with all the clauses that basically made Machina not a threat on the journey. While it was true that some clauses were quite harsh for Machina, he had no choice this time since he wanted to ensure that he didn’t have to look over his shoulder when he fought the black cell.

However, Nathan gave her one last freedom.

"This contract will last until Nathan Reckmoon dies against the black cell or after Nathan Reckmoon succeeds in defeating the black cell."

Machina noticed this clause and asked, "This black cell..."

"It’s the singularity that is currently controlling the universe. If we don’t defeat it, this universe will be destroyed. So, I have no choice. I can just laze around and enjoy the rest of my life, but I’m such a greedy person. I want to live as long as possible while enjoying my life with my wives and descendants. Therefore, I go out here to fulfill my destiny." Nathan smiled.

Machina raised her finger, as her fingertip caused a small spark. It then signed the contract carefully.

As soon as the contract was activated, Machina lifted up the hem of her skirt and politely lowered her head. "Machina greets her master. I thank you for your grace, allowing a mere machine to follow you on your sacred journey. I shall serve you with everything I have."

Nathan nodded with a smile. "I’m looking forward to working with you, Machina. By the way, we haven’t introduced ourselves. I am Nathan Reckmoon; my title is Dimensional Transcendent.

"These are my wives. She is Selena Ashton and her title is Blood Goddess. Next to her is Seraphina Dialanta. Her title is Goddess of Parallel Boundaries.

"This is Flora Vietta Ezelia. She was formerly known as the Goddess of Myriad Spirits, but her strength had transformed, so her title changed to the Goddess of Myriad Elements.

"Last but not least, Luna Eleren. She is known for her golems and magic circles, so you may be able to combine the technology with magic circles to create something unimaginable before. She is known for her craftsmanship. Her title is Goddess of Automata.

"As for the meaning of the titles or anything about us, we will fill you in gradually."

"Understood!" Machina greeted them politely. "Machina greets the Master’s wives."

"Yep! We look forward to having you with us, Machina." Sera waved her hand.

"To think that we will end up with a god of machines. I wonder what the people of our world will think about this." Flora chuckled.

"I do have one question, though." Luna raised her finger. "Why do you refer to yourself in third-person?"

"Machina is merely assimilating the information stored in this body to her own database. And since it’s the information that Master personally gave, Machina believes she should follow it as her manual."

"So, after you signed that contract..." Luna sighed and turned to Nathan.

"You mean you have all the information Nathan put into that body, including personality and other things?"

"Yes. Everything is stored in this body. Machina hopes she could bring some joy to the master’s heart."

Before the one controlling the android was both the android’s own consciousness and the Central Processing Unit. Just like Zeta, the Central Processing Unit could intervene directly.

But with the machine entering this body, there was no way for the Central Processing Unit to access this body anymore. In other words, this body belonged to the machine completely.

Still, Selena couldn’t help but ask one question. "Okay, can you tell me all of Nathan’s fetishes?"

"..."
