Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1923: Catalith

Chapter 1923: Catalith

The elf goddess looked at her own messy room. She had been searching for a way to help her nephew by browsing all available books, but she couldn’t find anything all this time.

She hadn’t had the time to clean up the mess. Then again, she usually had other people to handle the cleaning for her.

But because she wasn’t usually researching here, no one was following her. Freliya was also busy with the elf king, so it couldn’t be helped that her room was dirty.

"Mhmm..." The elf goddess hurriedly snapped her fingers. Her energy started enveloping the books and gathered all of them into the corner of the room.

"I’m sorry for showing such a messy room." The elf goddess embarrassedly scratched the back of her head.

"It’s fine. That just shows how much you care for your nephew." Nathan smiled.

"Please this way." The elf goddess extended her hand, gesturing for them to take a seat on the couch.

"You should handle the rest of this matter, Summoner. Maybe have Garuda or Xolotl with you. They’re better than this."

"No, you also stay with me this time, Anubis. There’s something I’m planning to talk about." Nathan smiled, but he didn’t reject Anubis’s request.

He summoned Xolotl and Garuda, which startled the elf goddess.

She never expected Auric to have two more gods under his command.

’What is his identity? How could he have so many gods under his command? Their forms... They aren’t at the same level as me, but it’s not because they’re weaker than me. It’s because their power is sealed or something... Besides, the human in front of me actually possesses more energy than me. That energy hasn’t been refined because he doesn’t have the true vessel, but it doesn’t change the fact that he possesses that much energy.’

The elf goddess was quite confused, but she didn’t expect to get any information from Nathan.

Catalith took a seat across from Nathan and asked, "All right. Let me clarify again. Do you want to search for information about the Great Void?"

"I’m talking about the massive void in the universe. The one that is deemed extremely dangerous." Nathan clarified.

"I know that." Catalith nodded with a serious expression. "The book is not here. It’s in my office in the god realm. I can lend you the book, but it’s better for my assistant to make a copy of it first."

"You don’t have to worry about that. My assistant can make a copy of a book in less than a minute." Nathan smiled. "Still, I would like to consult you about the Great Void."

Catalith paused for a moment. "All right. What do you want to know?"

"First, I want to confirm that we have the same understanding about the Great Void."

"Sure." Catalith nodded. "The Great Void is a place different from this universe. It’s located in this universe, but it swallows everything in its path. You can think of it as a sinkhole that this universe has. This sinkhole will continue to expand and absorb everything in its path.

"No one knows how it was born, but everyone knows that it shouldn’t be near the Great Void. In fact, this planet is about to face its wrath in a million years. It’s not exactly a short time, but it’s quite close.

"There are some speculations that the Great Void will swallow everything in this universe, but there is a theory saying that the universe is also expanding to counter the Great Void.

"For the time being, there’s a balance between the universe and the Great Void."

"Have you been there?" Nathan asked.

"Only the outskirts. I was curious back then, so I visited that place to see what was going on."

"What did you find?" Nathan turned serious. This is what he wanted to know. The Great Void had the mysteries he needed to kill the black cell.

The elf goddess thought for a moment. "How do I say this? First of all, the Great Void has some sort of layers that separate it from the rest of the universe.

"Inside this void, it’s all darkness. I have seen a planet being swallowed and disappearing into nothingness. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see any stars getting devoured to see whether the light from the star would disappear as well.

"After witnessing it, I chose to stay away from the Great Void. But there was one thing that I couldn’t forget.

"When I was about to leave, a pair of eyes suddenly appeared in the darkness. That pair of eyes... how do I say it? Those eyes didn’t scare me. They were... eerie, weird... maybe overwhelming? There was something I couldn’t explain. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see its form or anything.

"It was as if this creature had been observing me at the edge of the Great Void. It showed itself as if it wanted to chase after me, who was about to leave. It was as if this creature intended to devour me, but it couldn’t leave that place."

Nathan looked down, contemplating. "Still, you can see its eyes..."

"Yes. I couldn’t see anything within the Great Void, but I could see its eyes... There are only two possibilities. First, light didn’t exist in the Great Void. The eyes were the ones producing that light. I could see it because I was close to it. The second possibility was that there was a black layer that contained the Great Void. That layer absorbed light from the outside, but maintained light from the inside."

"Do you mean..." Nathan was surprised by that one possibility.

"Yes. There might be an entirely new universe within the Great Void, but we simply couldn’t see it unless we entered that place."

"..." Nathan looked down, contemplating. "I see."

"For the time being, the Great Void is contained, so there’s no need to go and poke it open. It’s dangerous and we don’t know what it will bring to this universe."

"Are you sure you don’t know about it? There are already creatures from the Great Void living in this universe... some are already gone, though." Nathan frowned.
