Chapter 1938: Allies or Enemies

Chapter 1938: Allies or Enemies

Nathan teleported outside the world and set up a satellite system in another solar system so that he could connect everyone to a group call.

"Hello, my dear! How are you?" Sera’s cheerful voice, as usual, opened their meeting.

"I’m good. How are you?" Nathan’s smile just melted after seeing his wife again.

"We’re good too!" Sera waved her hand. "So, is there a problem?"

"What’s wrong? Can’t I call you when there’s no problem?"

"I’m just checking because there are plenty of things I want to talk about if there’s no problem." Sera winked playfully.

Nathan chuckled. "Unfortunately, there’s something I want to discuss with you guys. First of all, I have found the planet of this Lord Frost, the guy whose power was absorbed by Flora."

"Oh?!" Flora, who wasn’t invited to the god realm, didn’t know anything about it. "So, we can fulfill our promise..."

"Yeah." Nathan nodded. "Fulfilling the promise alone is simple. We can just sneak inside the planet and bury them in open space. The problem comes after that. There’s a joint battlefield that is used by three worlds, including the one we’re currently in. They’re fighting the fiercest aliens. However, I doubt they have encountered an Outer God.

"From what I’ve heard, there were aliens at Cthulhu’s level coming into this battlefield. The human god fell in battle because of one of those guys. As a result, the three worlds formed an alliance and decided to send their respective gods to deal with an alien at that level whenever they were coming.

"I’ve asked whether they’ve found the portals leading to the alien worlds, but the answer is no.

"So, we might have to check those portals ourselves to see if we can figure out anything else.

"There is also plenty of information about the Great Void, but Machina will send the details later.

"What I want to talk about is all these worlds. Maybe it’s because I’ve been too friendly with my familiars, I want to say that true gods are a pain in the ass.

"They have too much ego. If we’re doing something wrong, the situation will become troublesome.

"So, I originally thought about having as many allies as possible, but after coming to this world, I wondered if my decision was correct.

"We could get an ally or an enemy easily, so should we risk it just to get an ally or..." Nathan sighed, not finishing his words.

They understood the dilemma. Even if they turned these people into their allies, would they fight for them?

What would happen if they decided to stab him in the back because they had been pretending to be their allies?

The worst scenario was that they would demand this and that to create a problem for them, which would also take so much of their energy and time to resolve.

If they didn’t really have that ego, Nathan would be more than happy to have them as allies. This way, they could work together and defeat the black cell.

Sadly, he was a bit too optimistic this time.

Selena thought for a moment before asking, "Do you perhaps have an alternative?"

"There are two I can think of. First, we will just make a select few to be our allies. This means we will focus on using my Soul Contract to turn them into our allies. This is something I don’t really like to do since I want to trust them as our allies, but given the circumstances..." Nathan shook his head. The situation didn’t look so optimistic.

"The second alternative is by using the Great Void. It’s clear that the Great Void contains something we might need to defeat the black cell. In addition, I plan to summon a quite troublesome guy, but he might be one of the keys to defeating the black cell. Also, Loki may be one of the keys as well.

"Don’t summon him yet, of course, but I’m leaning towards summoning him."

Selena and the others fell silent. Evelyn crossed her arms and muttered, "So, you’re also worried that the people we will meet in our place will become our enemies."

"Yeah. I mean, we need them as our allies to fight the aliens, right? But if they are already fighting the aliens without them being our allies, shouldn’t that be fine as well?" Nathan explained.

"That’s true." Evelyn agreed. "I think we shouldn’t make them our allies. After working in the shadows for so long to defeat those guys who caused the bloody banquet, I personally didn’t want to add so many people and risk having them turn against me, but this is just my opinion. If we are going to vote, that’s my vote."

Selena said, "To be honest, I have to agree with her. If we want allies, it’s better to get specific individuals, ones who could help us directly. Maybe they have some specialization that can help us with something... People like that are fine with me."

Seeing Selena and Evelyn, who usually handled the job of a leader or a vice leader, choosing to avoid creating unnecessary enemies, the opinions shifted greatly.

Luna, who also had the same charisma, chose to delay this decision. "Why not visit them first? It’s true that we should be cautious, but if we don’t know them, we won’t be able to figure out whether we’re doing the right thing or not.

"I mean, there’s no need to openly meet them. Even if we just listen to what people are saying about them, that will be enough to make a decision. In the end, we can sneak in, so I suggest getting everything straight first before making any decision."

Selena looked at Evelyn, who nodded her head. Selena replied, "In that case, we will try to be careful about that. We will mark special individuals, check their responses, and see what we will do."

"That’s also good. There’s a battlefield here, so I plan to go there first and see what I should do about it. All the detailed information will be compiled and sent to the group chat later." Nathan nodded, satisfied.
