Chapter 1952: Cooperating with the Alien
Nathan and Catalith went away, asking Seath to stay put so that they could talk in secret.
"So, what do you think?" Catalith asked. Nathan knew more about the aliens, so it would be best to know his opinions first.
Nathan could ensure the cooperation between him and her with Soul Contract.
However, it wouldn’t be best to expose the Soul Contract to the black cell.
At the same time, he believed that the aliens already knew about the Soul Contract, considering the original Nathan had possessed it. They would already know from the mark branded into his existence.
In that case, there was really no need to worry about leaking the Soul Contract, but the problem was that he didn’t know how much they already knew about the Soul Contract.
The way he utilized the Soul Contract was different from how the original Nathan utilized it.
The original Nathan didn’t know how to properly utilize the Soul Contract, but he certainly had some unique ways, such as twisting fate or erasing one’s existence.
On the other hand, Nathan used it to make a contract with the world, the universe, and even strengthen his people.
So, he couldn’t confirm whether it would be fine to expose the way he utilized the Soul Contract or not.
Nathan explained, "To be honest, I heard a similar thing from an alien back home. That alien should be stronger than you. There is indeed resistance because they’re waiting for something.
"I’ll just tell you about the prophecy since it should be general knowledge among the aliens. There will be three opportunities to take down the black cell. The first opportunity appeared five hundred years ago.
"The second opportunity should be right now. The third opportunity will come in three hundred years."
Catalith crossed her arms. "Are you saying that the second opportunity is you?"
"That’s what I told the people in my world, but I am not so bold to say that to the people from another world. In fact, I’m more comfortable having a supporting role rather than the main role.
"I mean, just think about it. If you are in a supporting role, you just have to aid the one having the main role from behind. At least survival is guaranteed as long as you’re not dumb enough or trying to be a hero, but you don’t know if the guy you support can do it or not.
"However, if you have the main role, you will need to face Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth, not to mention the black cell with its last struggle. The last struggle is the most concerning thing you can get from a singularity."
"Somehow I can’t deny that." Catalith couldn’t help but agree with Nathan on this one. "I see. A prophecy, huh?"
"Yeah." Nathan took a deep breath. "For the time being, I’m thinking about binding you to a contract. This will prevent us from having a trust issue in our alliance, at least until either I am or the black cell is defeated."
"I’m fine with that. After learning about the mark, you can never know," replied Catalith without hesitation.
"Thanks, I appreciate that. Regarding Seath, gaining more knowledge about the aliens and finding their weakness is the top priority. As for capturing other aliens, it will be entirely up to you.
"However, if you choose to do it, I suggest that you create a facility in this world rather than in your original world. With your status, you should be able to lock this planet to yourself. Maybe you can talk to the Ogre God and have his cooperation as well."
Catalith mostly agreed with him, but she had one concern. "True. If I can designate this place as a forbidden zone, it should be possible to quarantine this area. If there are aliens entering this place, we either kill them or seal them as well. Low level aliens should be pretty good too, since we can learn about their instincts and behaviors.
"However, if we do that on a large scale, it might look like a ranch. At that point, we will treat them like they treat us, simply thinking they’re nothing but animals. I don’t exactly have much thought about that... like you reap what you sow. The problem is when it’s too much and the aliens choose to rebel.
"It’s easy to ignore such an easy thing when you do it once. After all, you will have less resistance to do it the second time and so on. Hence, it’s better not to do it at all."
Nathan explained, "The best way is to just get rid of the portal here or move it elsewhere. If you need to do that, you can just capture them and bring them from different planets with your boat."
"That’s also an option. I guess I will have to ask other gods regarding this matter." Catalith sighed. She was feeling a headache to talk about this to other gods, since most of them just thought about fights.
"If you don’t mind, can you bring me back to meet the Ogre God now? I want to at least secure this planet first and think about the rest later."
"I have no problem with that." Nathan turned to Flora and Noelle. "Can you guys watch over that one for a minute? Tell Luna, Iris, and Machina to have some fun for now."
"Got it!" Flora waved her hand.
"Let’s go!" Nathan snapped his fingers, teleporting them back to the original planet.
"Let me talk to him first." Catalith waved her hand and entered the building.
"You’ve returned..." The Ogre God narrowed his eyes. "Are you done with the alien?"
"More than that." Catalith chuckled. "Isn’t teleportation convenient? I could move from this planet to that one in an instant. It doesn’t seem to require that much energy either, compared to the space boat."
"That is... something I can’t deny. It helps people who want to fight faster and more efficiently."
"I was supposed to discuss it so that he was willing to make the teleportation circle for us, but you attacked him for "testing" and now we’re not going to get an upgrade."
