Chapter 1990: Facing The True Gods
Chapter 1990: Facing The True Gods
"What is this snake?" The true god gritted his teeth. He released his power, breaking apart Apep’s scale.
"Aaghhh!" Even though Apep was screaming in pain, his body didn’t stop. He continued releasing his energy to keep him from doing anything.
He then spat a mouthful of black energy, which forced the true god to form a barrier to block it. However, this energy was so weird that it corroded his barrier in a different way than a poison.
"What a disgrace. To think that you’re now being forced to help me." Apep snorted at Anubis.
Anubis simply said, "You can say it however you want, but let me make myself clear. I’m following my summoner’s order, not yours. Besides, you could never win against us, not in the past, not in the future."
"We’ll see. I am going to challenge him again after this." Apep snorted and continued attacking the true god.
Anubis just boosted Apep’s recovery speed, making Apep a complete machine that would never be broken.
Of course, Mae and Qilin were helping to dampen the damage. This way, Apep could continue to go on a rampage without having to worry about his condition. If they could outlast the true god before them, they could kill him.
...
On the other side, Tiamat and Abzu flew side by side.
They unleashed their power at the same time. Usually, their powers would complement each other, but since they were leading, they planned to show how it was done to the youngsters.
Tiamat’s energy contained chaos and disorder, while Abzu’s energy was filled with serenity.
They came from both sides, which forced the true god to spread his hands and block their attacks at the same time.
However, Tiamat’s power made the enemy’s energy unstable, but with Abzu’s contradictory energy, that power became uncontrollable.
"!!!" The true god was startled and hurriedly released his power before leaping away.
His right hand was covered in blood.
"..." The true god looked at these two dragons in shock, not expecting that they would be so strong.
However, it didn’t stop there.
The true god felt a presence coming from behind, so he turned around, covering his fist with powerful energy to punch whoever was coming with a powerful force.
To his surprise, his force clashed with Fenrir’s absolute force. Fenrir came with his mouth wide open, sucking the energy that covered his enemy’s fist.
"What?" The true god was startled and tried to get away, but Fenrir had already bitten his arm.
"Aaahhhh!" The true god didn’t expect that Fenrir would possess such a power. Still, he was a true god, and Fenrir was just a new true god who didn’t even have a hundred million ena.
He kicked Fenrir and blasted him away. His body ended up crashing into a planet and created a massive crater.
Xolotl came to attack him, but the true god managed to unleash his power at the last second and neutralized it. Jinwu came forth and utilized the power of the sun to amplify his power. The true god was forced to take both of them head-on, pinning his position.
Fenrir, Abzu and Tiamat changed their positions, ready for the next attack.
Even though they looked like they were in an advantageous position, Fenrir had taken a lot more damage just from a single attack, despite his tough body.
They knew that they should be careful when fighting this one since one hit could severely injure them.
...
On the other hand, Garuda and Ananta intended to demonstrate the reason Vishnu picked them.
"It has been a while since I last fought, so..." Ananta smirked. "I need to show you the power of possibilities."
"Hmph!" The true god harrumphed and charged toward him. He didn’t intend to be passive.
He swung his massive sword at Nathan.
Ananta leaped toward the incoming sword strike with mouth wide open as though it wanted to swallow it.
When they were about to clash, the sword strike hit an invisible barrier instead.
The sword strike started to glitch as if it was trying to remain in existence. Unfortunately for the enemy, the sword strike ended up disappearing.
"What?" He was startled. His brute force shouldn’t be that easy to stop. He had high confidence that he was unmatched in terms of brute force among his group.
Yet Ananta could easily make it disappear.
What Ananta did was simply switched the timeline and applied the timeline where the sword strike didn’t exist.
The other heads were coming toward the true god, surrounding him. The heads were coming a few at a time to swallow him, but the true god was dodging skillfully. In fact, the true god was trying to make Ananta’s heads get entangled with one another.
Unfortunately for him, Ananta was free from such a thing because he simply restored his body through a possibility where it didn’t get entangled.
Nidhogg, Orochi, and Kun were quite surprised. All this time, Ananta acted like a gentle uncle. He even let Nathan sit or stand on top of his head without any complaints.
They thought Ananta was like an advisor, but it turned out they were wrong. Ananta’s offensive ability might be quite lacking, but the way he controlled the enemy was exquisite. He easily blocked a powerful attack and kept the enemy busy.
"What are you guys doing? Attack!" Garuda shouted.
"!!!"
Nidhogg and Orochi looked at each other. They unleashed their chaos fire and poison while Kun turned into Peng and used his wind to combine their elements.
As soon as they attacked, Ananta’s body glitched as his body returned to the spot a few kilometers away from the true god. In other words, the true god was forced to take on those three familiars’ attack.
The true god was startled at first, but his strength was no real deal. He smacked their attack and deflected it away. That attack ended up destroying one of the moons.
"True gods are true gods..." Nidhogg squinted. "I really want that power."
"If we kill them, can’t we just use their bodies like we use the alien bodies?" Orochi grinned.
"That’s a very good idea. We need to keep his corpse intact then." Nidhogg grinned.
"You guys... are enjoying this?" Kun chuckled.
"If you think you can win against me—" The true god was going crazy because these familiars looked down on him. Before he could finish his words, Garuda approached him. The true god didn’t realize that Nathan had been watching everything like a giant watching ants fighting each other. Nathan’s concept of size had gradually been distorted as he was growing and growing closer to the Outer Gods.
And he was ready to crush this true god.
