Chapter 1989: Splitting Up

Apep appeared out of nowhere, wielding the power of dark matter and springing toward the true gods.

"What?!" They were startled, not expecting Auric to have even more allies hidden.

Still, true gods were true gods. They skillfully avoided Apep before attacking him.

"Haaaa!" Apep screeched before chasing after one true god. His body was full of injuries, but those injuries were recovering at a speed visible to the naked eye.

This was one of Apep’s abilities, immortality. He could die, but he never truly died. At the same time, his regeneration, which kept his immortality, was extremely strong.

Even when Apep fought Nathan for the first time, he showed signs of recovery. That was why Nathan had to crush his spirit beforehand. If not, Apep wouldn’t accept the contract.

"Got it!" Abzu and Tiamat were his familiars with the strongest firepower, so he had nothing to worry about.

Apep might not be able to kill the true god, but he wouldn’t go down without a fight. Hence, what Apep needed was the ones who possessed no fighting power.

"Mae, Qilin, Anubis. Focus on Apep. No need to provoke him and just keep being passive. Sorry, Anubis."

"Don’t worry. I don’t have that much grudge against this guy." Anubis nodded in understanding.

"Nidhogg, Orochi, Kun, Garuda, and Ananta will follow me to handle the other true gods."

They agreed with the arrangement and split up accordingly.

With this, they had three teams that would stop three true gods.

"What about the other two?" Garuda asked.

"Don’t worry. They have their own opponents."

As Nathan said, three people also flew toward the other true gods.

"!!!" The true god with a human body and lizard head frowned. He never thought that there was someone who dared to challenge him.

However, she was surrounded by many familiars such as Risa, Lilith, Yin Zheng, Amphitrite, and Nyx.

On the other hand, Evelyn brought her two familiars, but she came with Sera this time. Brunhild and Asmodeus would be fighting alongside her, while Sera and Janus would support them from the back.

Meanwhile, Flora was taking charge of the group.

Nathan knew that the ones having the best leadership were Nathan, Selena, and Evelyn in that order. However, it didn’t mean the rest was just too foolish.

Luna could step in. Flora could step in. Even Bella and Vivian could do it.

But in this fight, Flora decided to take the role. She was the key in this fight. After all, without her firepower, they would be overwhelmed by the remaining 23 gods.

They might not be true gods, but each familiar could only take on one person without any guarantee of defeating them.

So, they needed to proceed carefully.

Flora gave an order. "Machina, with me. Continue with the analysis and assist me in commanding the battlefield. Alavenya, you take the left. Vivian will be with you. Noelle will take the right with Bella. Iris, go wild."

"What about me?" Luna pointed at herself.

"You? You focus on getting any gods that are trying to harm Nathan, Evelyn, Sera, or Selena."

"Got it!" Luna nodded in agreement. The most crucial fight would be between their group and those five true gods. She couldn’t let anyone sacrifice themselves to help those five.

She believed that Nathan and the others possessed the necessary strength to kill them.

Meanwhile, Alavenya had merged with Xingtian and summoned Chiyou. Next to her was Vivian with Gaia, Elf Silvania, Dryad Yvel, and World Tree Spirit Latia.

With Vivian merging with Silvania, their sides could take on six gods each.

On the other side, Noelle came with Thanatos as she had already fused with Duke Murmur.

Behind her was Bella. Bella’s main fighting power wasn’t her Mist Fox or Water Elemental. Rather, it was the familiar she had just summoned.

Looking at Loki’s nonchalant expression, she realized that Loki wouldn’t help her much. Even if he could defeat his opponent, he might be playing around so much that he wouldn’t help her take down the other gods.

And since her ability wasn’t that suitable to fight against gods yet, she chose to let Loki handle one god while she and the rest of her familiars fought another one.

With Noelle and Thanatos, their side could only take on four people.

Still, there was Iris. Iris was Nathan’s personal disciple, and the card that Nathan hadn’t used all this time. They actually didn’t know how strong Iris currently was. All they knew was that she possessed both the Pangu and Vishvakarma.

So, in a way, she probably could take on three people.

Unfortunately, this left them with ten more gods to handle. Luna could probably handle one or two on her own, but she would position herself near Nathan and the others to keep the gods from interfering with their battles.

There were about eight more people left.

Flora took a deep breath. She summoned all her divine spirits. They might not have been gods, but it wasn’t like they were weak.

Flora said, "Let Iris go on a rampage. You guys do whatever you can to slow down the enemies. I will take them down one by one."

Flora had a total of eight divine spirits. So, this was a perfect number to stop the enemy while focusing on her power one at a time.

The enemies didn’t expect that Nathan’s group would have so many gods. And they all appeared out of nowhere.

However, since the conflict had begun, they had no choice but to fight.
