Chapter 2091: You might die.
Chapter 2091: You might die.
’Nux did he—’
Amaya called out, her body frozen as she saw the Eternity staring at the screen as if he had spotted Nux.
For an instant, Nux’s face turned grim as well. He was currently using Vulpiana’s Law of Timeless Veil to hide himself inside a different dimension.
It was one of his most trusted abilities, an ability he used to get an upper hand in battles against Transcendent-level enemies.
Heck, it was the same ability that also allowed him to sneak behind Vexarion, an Eternal, and take his arm despite there being the ridiculous difference of two phases between them.
It was something that had never failed him before, but...
If it failed him today...
Just as Nux was thinking about everything and was trying to come up with a countermeasure, Eternity’s gaze moved away from him as he continued to scan the surroundings.
It was less than a second, to be clear. Eternity’s gaze did not even stop at him; it seemed like he was only scanning the surroundings.
’No, he didn’t, it was a coincidence.’
Nux answered, sighing in relief.
Hearing those words, Amaya, together with the rest of the tensed-up women, sighed in relief as well. Their bodies almost gave out and they hadn’t even truly clashed with these beings.
It just showed just how ridiculously dangerous they were.
Or more accurately, just how strong of an impression these beings had on others.
Even they, who had absolute confidence in their husband’s ability, had faltered for a moment.
’Nux, let’s leave. We will get another chance in the fut—’
Before Amaya could complete her sentence, she and the other women noticed the screen shifted as Nux moved much faster than any of them could react to.
Yes, despite being a Primordial, his reaction speed was faster than Transcendent-level beings, and this reaction speed just saved his life.
"Oh?"
The women heard a voice.
A hollow, calm voice that was filled with slight amusement.
"You moved."
Eternity spoke, the amusement in his voice did not die down.
"I have never seen a Primordial react so quickly," he spoke, as he stood where Nux once did. As for Nux...
He was now standing a few hundred meters away from him, looking at Eternity with a grim look on his face.
He had already made his move.
A move that the Eternity sensed in an instant and teleported away, dodging a destructive wave that could have done severe damage.
Of course, even then, the amusement on his face did not change. Rather, it only increased as he turned towards the woman who just appeared out of nowhere.
"Energy of Chaos, huh?
Now this is surprising."
He commented.
"I did not think you people had gathered enough strength to make a move.
Or...
Is it desperation?"
He didn’t seem particularly surprised by the Chaos Energy Sharnoth was using and honestly, Nux wasn’t surprised by it either.
Zylarith was behind Umbrasol, he was also behind Sharnoth. These were all things Nux knew about. However, Zylarith had been active for billions and billions of years. There is no way he only appeared a few times all this while.
If the Supreme Worlds did not know that he was actually alive even after all these reckless things he had done, well...
They wouldn’t deserve the title of Supremes then.
They knew.
They knew about the existence of Zylarith, they just did not care enough to do anything about him.
’So they know he is in no position to do anything...’
Nux muttered inwardly, gathering every bit of information he could in this situation. Of course, his mind had already started coming up with a way out, to get something out of this disadvantageous encounter.
He could have escaped. He could have entered his own Universe, where no one could follow him, or he could have died.
All this while, Nux hadn’t just stayed still while spending time with his wives.
He had pushed himself to the limits and had learned quite a few things.
First one was to kill himself instantly.
He had learned an ability to burst his own body into pieces, that too, so quickly that if his opponent was unaware of his ability, then with Nux’s reflexes, the opponent could never stop him from dying and reforming near his wives, successfully escaping from most scenarios.
But honestly, Nux wasn’t particularly fond of any of the two ideas.
Both escaping into his Universe and killing himself would give his opponents an extremely valuable piece of information about him, putting them at an advantage and taking away the surprise factor they had, that too, without getting anything in return.
It was the first exchange between him and the Supreme Worlds; it was essential for his and his wives’ survival for them to get something out of it.
Therefore, instead of running, Nux decided to risk it.
He stared at Sharnoth, who was staring at Eternity with a determined look on her face and he recalled the conversation they had before,
...
"Are you truly prepared for this?"
After Amaya explained her plan of luring the Supremes out to where they could devour them without the Infinities getting involved, Nux first turned towards Sharnoth, the most important key of this place, and questioned.
"I am."
Sharnoth, who was connected with them using the Call Artifact, answered with a solemn look on her face.
Why use the Call Artifact instead of actually being there with them?
It was because they were still worried about Zylarith. Sharnoth’s Domain was still keeping him away. So even now, she was sitting with her Domain activated and no one around her. From the outside, no one in Khaemorr knew what Sharnoth was actually planning.
Nux was also worried about letting his wives close to Sharnoth. Yes, he trusted her since he saw her memories, but Zylarith still had the ability to momentarily take over Sharnoth’s body, so he had to be careful.
It was much better for Sharnoth to stay cooped up inside her Domain with no one knowing her plans before she actually made a move.
Even Zylarith wouldn’t be able to react to it out of nowhere.
"You might die."
Nux warned with a solemn look on his face.
"We are facing Supremes. Anything can happen. I have a few ways to escape, but you won’t."
"You know I do not care about my life."
Sharnoth answered. She then looked into Nux’s eyes and,
"If I die, I only want one thing:
His pain should be far greater than my mother’s before he dies."
"...if we do not follow through with it, it is highly likely that we will gain enough time to go after Vexarion.
You will be able to take your revenge on your own."
"He won’t accept."
Suddenly, Sharnoth shook her head.
"What...?"
"The Leander Family is already shrouded with mystery.
This combined with the appearance of a mysterious group that dared to stand against the Supreme Worlds will form a connection.
No matter how weak this connection is, for someone as cowardly as Vexarion, it wouldn’t be surprising if he goes back on his word and refuses to face me—at least not until this mysterious group is found."
"..."
Nux stayed silent. From the memories he had of Vexarion’s subordinates, he knew what Sharnoth was saying could be true.
"That turtle will not leave his shell, and as long as he hides inside, I cannot kill him."
Sharnoth repeated. Her crimson eyes staring into Nux’s and—
"The only one I can rely on is you."
She spoke with a determined look on her face.
"You are strong, you are resourceful, and if capturing three Supreme Borns from those three Supreme Worlds somehow makes you even stronger,
I am willing to take that risk,
Even if it costs my life."
...
"..."
Nux stayed silent, observing Sharnoth as he recalled everything.
But then—
"I am curious though."
Suddenly, the Eternity began.
"You have the Law of Chaos, then how did you teleport here? I do not sense any Artifact activating."
He questioned with a curious look on his face.
All his interest in Nux had faded away. After all, what could a Primordial even do in this situation?
"..."
Sharnoth didn’t answer his question.
In her mind, she was thinking of ways to fight him. The difference in the two’s attitude seemed quite overwhelming.
It looked like Eternity had absolute confidence in himself.
And he did.
"Not going to answer, eh?"
He shrugged.
Then, he slightly stretched his body, as if preparing to move and—
"Well then, I’ll get the answers once I capture you alive and read your memories."
He declared confidently as suddenly, Nux noticed the space around them being locked.
The teleportation had become difficult. Even if they used the strongest Teleportation Artifact, it would take more than a few minutes for it to work.
Yes, the Eternity had cut their escape routes,
Or... that is what he thought.
But—
Suddenly, both Nux and Sharnoth teleported again, appearing far away from Eternity and right in front of his party.
"Now!"
Nux shouted and in an instant,
BOOOOM
Sharnoth deployed her Domain, with all the Supreme Party members trapped inside it.
