Chapter 2090: Once again, luck was not on their side.
Chapter 2090: Once again, luck was not on their side.
‘Do we know how many of them are coming?’
Ember questioned curiously.
“We don’t even know whether they are coming or not, my Dragon.”
Nux answered with a light chuckle.
‘What about the other Guild Master we left to keep an eye on the situation?’
Ember questioned.
Obviously, they didn’t just have one spy, that was foolish. Amaya made sure to have more than a few, making sure they got live updates on everything and possibly a head start in this situation.
‘They were found out the moment I deployed the first.’
Melia shook her head,
‘I had to forcefully erase their memories and ruin their minds to sever the link between me and them.’
The Vampire explained.
Ember turned silent, Riona, on the other hand, was worried,
‘Is it possible to recover their memories?’
‘I do not think so.’
Melia shook her head again.
‘I basically ruined their mind completely, recovering their memory would be similar to bringing back the dead.’
‘We do not know what methods they have.’
Rune muttered.
They had to be careful, after all, they were dealing with the Supreme Worlds here. Of course, Melia knew this as well and since this was the direct face-off with the Supremes, the Vampire knew she had to be careful, else her husband was going to lose his mind.
‘Even if they did somehow recover his memories, they won’t find me.
I blinded him before taking over his mind.’
‘What if they somehow make a connection and figure out it was you who took over his mind?’
Of course, this was purely just a guess, but Rune still wanted to be careful.
‘That isn’t possible. I no longer belong to the Main Universe. It is impossible to create a connection between me and him or else we would have been found out a long time ago.’
This time, the Vampire was even more confident.
‘…and what if they do?’
The Cat questioned in a grim tone and at those words…
‘If they do, we all die.’
Melia just shrugged.
Again, they had to interact with the Supremes one day or another. They needed the Primordial Energy they had the power over, or else Nux wouldn’t be able to progress any further.
Yes, the extent of the enemy’s abilities was unknown, but they were no different.
The enemy had no clue about them either.
Actually, they had a much more ridiculous advantage compared to the enemies because they were in shadows, they had a different Universe.
A literal, entirely separate Universe on their side. There was no way any enemy could guess the extent of their abilities.
Even if their abilities were unknown, they had no other choice but to trust their own abilities and methods that they had been using all this while and deal a big blow when the enemy was still looking down on them.
‘…does this mean we truly do not have a way to know if they are coming or not?’
Ember questioned again. The wait was making her somewhat anxious.
‘They will come.’
Suddenly, Amaya spoke with certainty.
‘I will look down on them if they do not.
The words you spoke were meant as a direct challenge. With how arrogant they are, they will never not accept such a challenge.
The only way that is possible is that they did not even interpret our message as a challenge, and if that is truly the case,
I will look down on them.’
The Devourer spoke. The plan she made had its flaws, but if this succeeded, what they would get in return would be far more valuable than Vexarion’s life.
Honestly, the Devourer couldn’t care less about that bastard. Rather, she actually wanted him to escape. She had seen that woman’s eyes, she saw her desperation and her neediness. Amaya could tell that the moment Nux gave her what she wanted,
Whether he wanted to or not, she would be his.
She would dedicate her everything to him.
She would be… another her.
Yes, Amaya could see it in those eyes when she first saw her.
Sharnoth Nocthys… that woman was similar to her and Aeliana.
And because she knew that, she also knew Nux knew it as well. At this point, it wasn’t even a possibility, it was certainty. Nux wouldn’t be able to resist her in any way. The charm of a crazy woman attracted him like no other.
Sharnoth will become her sister, and Amaya did not like this competition at all.
‘Tsk.’
The Devourer snorted inwardly. Soon, however, she shook her head and focused on what was important instead.
The three remaining Primordial Energies.
This was their Final Goal, everything they had put in so much effort for.
The Supreme Worlds still did not know that Nux had the power to devour his enemies’ Laws. So even if they could come up with a way to counter his ability, they wouldn’t have anything right now because of their lack of information.
Amaya planned to use that to her advantage.
She openly challenged their authority, angered them, then invited them for a direct confrontation. She wanted the angered bull to mindlessly charge at them.
Of course, she didn’t come up with all this without thinking. She had a conversation with Lord Azriel. She remembered his warning to Nux, telling him not to go near the Supreme Worlds, and she wanted to know why he said that.
‘The Supreme Worlds are ruled by Infinities. If they are even half as strong as me, their domain will be strong enough to cover the entirety of their respective worlds.
Unlike me, they have the freedom to use their powers however they wish, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the entirety of their world is under their influence—not through the World’s Will, but under their direct influence.
Nux’s quirk of not being detected by a World’s Will is useful, but in the Supreme Worlds, it wouldn’t work since he would directly be entering the enemy’s domain. There is no way they would not sense him.
And once they do, and once they realize his strange quirk,
They will capture him alive, and he will be helpless to do anything.’
The Vampire Progenitor explained.
Then, as if warning the group even further, he continued,
‘If this does happen, then even if I were as strong as I was before, saving him would be impossible.
An Infinity’s control over his Domain is absolute.
It is even above the Universe’s Will.’
‘Even the Universe’s Will?’
Amaya raised her eyebrow. Even Nux was surprised when he heard that.
‘That is correct. The Universe thinks of it as a ‘gift’ to the beings closest to it.
Even the Universe does not know what happens inside an Infinity’s Domain because it has no control over it.
As I said, inside his Domain, an Infinity is absolute, even above the very Universe.’
Azriel spoke, and recalling those words, Amaya momentarily trembled.
She finally understood why Azriel warned them the way he did. Getting inside an Infinity’s Domain was certain death—even Nux was no exception to this.
And since they did not know how much area their domain actually covers, it was better to stay far, far, far away from the Supreme Worlds, just like Azriel told them to.
Amaya obviously had no plan to go against the Vampire Progenitor’s warning.
Therefore, she had to come up with this plan.
Sneaking into the Supreme World wasn’t possible. However, since they still needed their Laws, the only way around was to bring the Supreme bastards out instead.
And the opportunity for that was right in front of her.
The Supreme Borns were out, their arrogance as high as ever. They now had the option to go for them, but the problem was, all four of these Supreme Borns were Eternals.
Even if they had Sharnoth with them, she was nowhere strong enough to take all four of them at the same time. It would honestly be surprising if she was strong enough to take on even one of them.
After all, the Supreme Borns were strong.
Even Amaya, who was confident enough to take on any Transcendent-level enemy, wasn’t sure she could actually defeat a Transcendent-level Supreme Born. Aeliana, Astaria, Vyriana, Melia, and Felberta—they were no exception to this either.
These women were strong. They had Absolute Laws. They were probably the strongest at their stage, and were strong enough to take multiple Transcendent-level enemies at the same time and win with ease if they did not have Absolute Laws, but—
The Supreme Borns were stronger.
Not only did they have Absolute Laws, their Absolute Laws came from Primordial Energies. They had a higher understanding of their Laws. They had trillions and trillions of years of piled-up knowledge they could use to get stronger more efficiently, and they had much stronger weapons.
In theory, the women were no match against them.
Therefore, Amaya had to lure them into her plan. She had to target weaker Supreme Borns. After all, it would be beneath Eternal-level Supreme Borns, who came here on a mission, to go after a lowly terrorist group just because they provoked them.
Amaya was hoping that they would send their subordinates instead.
She was hoping that they would send weaker, Transcendent-level Supreme Borns here so they could use Sharnoth to capture them, ultimately allowing Nux to devour them and complete his Universe.
But…
Once again, luck was not on their side.
“They are here.”
Nux, who sensed their arrival, spoke with a solemn look on his face.
Yes, things did not go according to the plan.
“The one leading them is an Eternal from the Supreme World of Eternity.”
Nux declared. The women, seeing the Supreme Party through Nux’s eyes, stared at the situation solemnly as well.
Amaya was even considering retreat. After all, these Eternals won’t always be everywhere, and it was very much possible for them to find Transcendents working alone in the future because of how big this incident had become.
But then—
The Devourer froze in horror when she saw Eternity looking directly at the screen.
He…
He had spotted Nux.
