Chapter 1066: Private Lobby
Chapter 1066: Private Lobby
When the timer ended and the World personally announced the opening of the Dungeon, the Gates shone and opened, as if inviting everyone to enter and finally find out what lies behind their secret.
Idan and Arabel peered curiously at the gate, waiting for more information from their System, but it remained silent.
When they looked back, they saw that everyone was looking at them and waiting for them.
No one could say for sure what was waiting for them inside. But everyone was convinced that this place was fraught with new opportunities.
Idan and Arabel, who already had some experience, were not afraid. Under the gazes of the other members of the Kingdom, they exchanged glances, joined hands and were the first to step inside.
[Ding! You entered the Systems Dungeon through a private entrance.]
[Private Lobby is selected by default.]
[Attention! Optionally, you can choose the entrance to the Common Lobby.]
[The Nearest Common Lobby Is the Central Lobby.]
[Attention! When choosing a Common Lobby, exit from the dungeon is possible only through a Common Gate. The private exit will not be available.]
Before Idan and Arabel could open their eyes and feel solid ground under their feet after teleporting, the System sent them a barrage of messages.
When they opened their eyes, they found themselves at the end of a long, bright corridor.
Looking around, they saw a dead end — a white wall. There was no one else around but the two of them.
Blue rays of light ran along the edges of the stone floor, as if guiding them forward.
Hand in hand, Idan and Arabel walked slowly forward. At about the tenth step, they stopped abruptly, feeling a mysterious gaze that seemed to be scanning them.
[Ding! Synchronization with the Dungeon Systems is underway]
Suddenly, a system notification appeared. Behind him, numerous images began to appear on the white walls of the corridor. After taking a closer look, Idan and Arabel quickly realized that these were their memories… And most importantly, the memories since they became Awakened.
Everything was there: their first meeting on that special evening, the first night in the Forest of Doppelgangers, the acquaintance with Nemo and Eulalia.
“Ah!” — Arabel exclaimed, covering her face in embarrassment as images of their stormy nights flashed through her memories.
She then quickly looked around to make sure that there was no one else but the two of them who could see all this.
“Heh!” — Idan grinned, amused by her reaction.
When Arabel saw Idan’s grin, she pouted and pinched him hard to wipe the grin off his face.
[Ding! Synchronization completed]
With the System’s notification, the images on the walls disappeared.
[The unique title of “Gatekeeper” has been detected and activated]
[The title of “Gatekeeper” gives Hosts the opportunity to receive a certain percentage of monthly income for using the Central Gate in the form of System Points.]
“Oh! So that’s the advantage of this title,” Arabel’s eyes sparkled with joy when she learned about the opportunity to receive additional passive income in the form of System Points.
Previously, when they conducted the check, they did not have a clear understanding of the advantages that this title gives them.
As it turned out, that was exactly the point.
[Ding! In order to increase their rank in the “Local Systems Network”, Hosts need to pass a qualification test.]
“Qualification tests?” Idan repeated, but of course there was no answer.
Arabel took Idan’s hands, lost in thought, and hurried forward, pulling him with her.
Idan, with a smile on his face, followed his energetic wife.
At the end of the corridor, a kind of portal was waiting for them, passing through which they found themselves on the edge of a huge, clean, artificial circular space.
[Welcome to the Private Lobby] — a friendly system voice said, welcoming them.
This System voice was different from the voice of their own System.
The Lobby itself was more like a bright temple or the courtyard of a rich estate, where everything was created not by the hands of builders, but by the ideal will of the System.
The walls and columns were made of immaculately white stone, similar to brushed marble, which seemed to glow from within with a soft milky light.
The ceiling was high and domed, and instead of the sky, there was a gently pearlescent mist, creating a pleasant diffused illumination, like on a fine summer afternoon.
The floor was lined with large light-colored tiles, between which the system symbols stretched in thin golden threads. They did not blink, but simply shone steadily, indicating the directions to important points.
The air here was warm and still, smelling of cleanliness and dried flowers.
In the center of the Lobby, there were several System Consoles already familiar to Idan and Arabel, forming a circle. There was a white glowing sphere floating in its center.
There was a wide-open space around the center consoles, designed for waiting, moving, and just looking at everything around.
This was followed by the second circle, the recreation area. Instead of strict rows, there were upholstered seats, semicircular sofas, niches in the walls and comfortable areas for those who preferred to sit or lie on the floor.
Behind them, Idan and Arabel found a small, bright archway. The same arches began to appear one after another in one of the halves of the lobby, and the rest of the Kingdom members began to come out of them, following Idan and Arabel.
At the other end of the half of the Lobby, there was a smooth, light-colored wall.
Idan and Arabel quickly realized that it was most likely this half of the Lobby that served as the entrance to the dungeon and that the right gate would appear only at the right moment.
“How beautiful,” many exclaimed, admiring the unearthly beauty of this place.
Others shared their experiences.
The lobby was gradually filling up with new visitors, and there were more and more people here by the minute. There were also animals among them, curiously studying the creation of the System.
“Did you also go through the long white corridor?” Arabel asked, catching from the conversations of Irene and the others that they were not the only ones who encountered this corridor and saw images of memories.
“Yes,” Irene nodded.
“Did you get these cards?” asked Esma, taking out a clear crystal card.
“No, but what is it?” asked Arabel.
Not only Esma, but also Lucinda, Eulalia, and Liam, who also entered the dungeon, showed similar cards they received after entering.
After careful examination, they were amazed to find that these were personal identification cards issued to anyone who did not have their own system.
The cards showed the name, rank, race, and, most surprisingly, the number of System points.
“Is this a bank card?” Arslan exclaimed.
“No, it’s not just a bank card,” Idan shook his head. “If I understand it correctly, it also provides an opportunity to access all the functions of the dungeon and maybe even the Nexus itself.”
