Chapter 1067: The Crystal Card and The Beast Mark
Chapter 1067: The Crystal Card and The Beast Mark
“This is a non-Awakened ID card issued by the Dungeon itself,” everyone came to this conclusion.
“This ID card not only allows you to enter the dungeon, but also to earn SP points,” Arabel excitedly reminded Lucinda and the others.
Previously, only System users could receive these System Points. But now the Dungeon gave the opportunity to earn them for those who do not have a System.
Of course, Lucinda, Esma and Eulalia were very excited. After all, the SP points could be used in Idan and Arabel’s mysterious store.
Lucinda and the others said that they got these Crystal Cards after scanning the dungeon while traveling through a long corridor.
“I wonder what about the beasts? Did they get something like that too?” asked Arslan.
Everyone immediately turned their attention to the nearest Golden-ranked snow wolf.
“Hey, come here,” — Esma called.
The wolf jerked violently and, turning around, saw a multitude of powerful creatures staring at him.
Those looks made him cringe in fear.
“Don’t be afraid, come over,” Arabel called, and recognizing her, the wolf cautiously walked towards the group.
When the group asked if the wolf had received anything when he entered the dungeon, he nodded and began to whine, pointing at his forehead with his paw.
But no matter how closely Idan and the others looked, they couldn’t see anything in the wolf’s head.
Idan even tried to use a mental link to understand the wolf’s thoughts.
“Got it, got it”
“Mark, mark”
“Head, head”
The wolf’s mental voice was heard.
“Hmm… it looks like instead of Crystal Cards, the wolf got something like a mark on his forehead,” Idan guessed, interpreting what he had heard.
“A mark?” they all asked, not taking their eyes off the wolf’s forehead, as if trying to make out an invisible mark on it.
“Let’s call it the Beast Mark. After all, you were given Crystal Cards, and the beasts were given a mark,” Arabel suggested.
“And why not?” the others supported her. Even the wolf nodded in agreement, accepting this offer.
“Hey, look!” exclaimed Esma, showing her empty palm.
Before the others could ask what was wrong with her palm, they saw a Crystal Card materialize on her hand. Then, as if by magic, it disappears.
“How did you do that?” asked Eulalia, holding her card in her hands.
“Use your Soul Force on the card and bind it to yourself,” Esma advised.
Lucinda, Eulalia, and Liam followed her advice. When they used their Soul Forces, they were able to link their ID cards and recall them inside their Soul Spaces.
Watching their actions, the wolf focused his Soul Force on his forehead. At that moment, a blue light flashed on his forehead, and a mark appeared. It was a small vertical crystal with three thin appendages that extended downwards like roots of light.
“It’s very convenient. Now you don’t have to worry about losing it,” Lucinda remarked, and the others agreed with her.
“Hey, look at the wolf,” Esma exclaimed, pointing at the wolf, and everyone finally noticed the mark on the wolf’s forehead.
“So this is what the beasts mark looks like,” everyone stared at the wolf in fascination.
The other beasts watching them from the side also began to examine their foreheads, and soon their marks shone as well.
“Good boy,” — Esma happily patted the wolf on the head, which scared him.
“Let’s go and check out what’s going on there,” — Idan suggested, and the group headed to the center of the Lobby.
The wolf, slightly lagging behind, followed them.
“What about you two?” Idan asked Nemo through a mental link as they walked.
“We didn’t get the Crystal Cards,” Nemo replied.
“Hmm… most likely, both of you didn’t get the Crystal Cards because they are given to those who don’t have Systems. And you, being our champions, have access to the System, so you don’t need it,” Idan suggested.
“By the way, I forgot to ask, did you gain access to the Local Systems Network?”
Nemo and Lina exchanged glances and shook their heads.
“Strange”, — Idan thought, continuing his thoughts until they reached the center.
Some members of the Kingdom had already started exploring the console by that time.
After finding the free consoles, they approached them, and a familiar System Window appeared in front of Idan.
He turned to Lucinda, Esma, Eulalia, and Liam.
“Do you see this?” he asked.
They nodded back.
“Yes, but I can’t make out what it says,” Lucinda said.
“Big Sister, try going to one of the consoles,” Arabel asked.
“Okay,” — Lucinda nodded, walking over to one of them. However, nothing happened.
“Use your Crystal Card,” Idan prompted.
Following his advice, Lucinda pulled out the card, and the inactive console immediately lit up, and a System Window appeared in front of her.
Esma’s eyes shone with delight, and she hurried to the vacant console to see for herself.
At this time, a Snow Wolf came up next to them. He found an empty console to the side and walked over to it. Using his Soul Force, he summoned the mark, and the console shone, opening a completely new System window in front of the wolf, unlike what people saw.
The wolf’s actions attracted the attention of Idan and the others.
The wolf, not noticing them, began to poke his nose and jerk his head, as if flipping through some pages, and even touched some of them with his paws.
It all looked very strange.…
The wolf, actively wagging his tail, moved away from the console and turned to Idan with a joyful face. However, when he met their gazes, he shuddered and hurried away.
“He’s weird,” — Esma remarked, and the others agreed with her.
“It looks like the dungeon takes into account the characteristics of everyone and adapts to anyone, even beasts,” Lucinda suggested.
“Yes, this wolf obviously didn’t accidentally poke the console. He saw and understood what was there,” Arabel added.
Finally, everyone focused on the system window in the console. It contained several points:
——————–
* The Gates
* Create a group (only available for dungeon trips)
* Dungeon Store (unavailable)
——————–
When Idan selected the first line, “Gates,” a new list appeared in front of him.:
——————–
Breakthrough Hall
The Tower of Trials
Dungeon Simulator
——————–
While Idan and Arabel were trying to figure out what the Breakthrough Hall was like, their own System finally came to the rescue.
——————–
[Breakthrough Hall]
This is a special area in the Dungeon where creatures can try to overcome their current limitations and reach new heights.
In the Hall of Breakthrough, each creature faces an individual challenge corresponding to its nature, level, potential, and type of System.
The breakthrough options depend on the type and status of the participant:
* Beast-type creatures may try to evolve.
* Hosts of Ordinary Systems can upgrade their System’s rank to Rare.
* Hosts of Rare Systems get a chance to find a catalyst for a breakthrough.
* Epic System Hosts may try to acquire or unlock the Title.
* Creatures from other worlds can receive recognition from the World and partially remove the restrictions imposed.
The success of the trial is not guaranteed.
The result depends on the participant’s potential, training, state of mind, will, and accumulated strength.
In case of failure, possible:
* Partial rollback.
* Loss of part of the invested resources.
* Temporary weakening.
* The inability to try again within the specified period.
The Breakthrough Hall does not grant power for free.
It opens doors only to those who truly deserve it and are ready to face the challenges of change.
