Chapter 1074: A city in the center of an Oasis of Life.
Chapter 1074: A city in the center of an Oasis of Life.
The city in the center of the Oasis of Life gradually woke up with the sunrise.
Standing over him, Idan realized one thing. Perhaps all the Oases were created by the world around such cities.
Just after entering the Oasis and approaching the city, he noticed a lot of beasts that lived in its green expanses. The oasis was like a separate Kingdom, where people lived in cities and animals lived outside them.
Not all the beasts of the whole continent had an affinity with the element of fire and could survive in conditions when everything around was engulfed in flames and covered in ashes.
For them, these corners of life have become a salvation and at the same time a prison.
“How strange.”, — Elira thought. “I don’t feel like there are many of us here.”
“As far as I remember, not only the city, but the Oasis itself was well guarded,” she recalled.
From the moment she arrived at the Oasis, she wondered why no one had noticed her yet.
“The Gate,” — Idan reminded her. “It hasn’t been long since the Dungeon Gate appeared and opened.”
“Just like the Central Continent, the East has also opened its gates.”
“So all the main forces of the city should most likely be located there.”
For some reason, Idan was sure of this, considering that so far no one had managed to conquer the Dungeon Simulator and gain access to the Dungeon Store.
“Ah,” Elira remembered the Dungeon and the Gate inside the Kingdom.
“I suggest we split up,” Idan said. “I’ll go about my business, while you go to your clan and find out if your Ancestor is here.”
“Okay,” Elira agreed, starting to descend to the roof of one of the buildings.
As soon as Idan jumped down, Elira took one look at him and flew away. Idan wasted no time in taking out {Threads of One Blood} and dripping his blood onto the crystal again.
“So that’s where I’m going,” he said, turning to the right, where two thick strands of blood were pointing.
“Well, let’s finally find out who these two are,” he added, jumping off the roof of the building.
At first glance, Idan, walking through the morning city, did not notice any special differences from the cities of the Central Continent. It was still the same old modern city as it was before the disaster.
It was only when he looked more closely that he noticed that, despite its modernity and the morning, the streets were very quiet and empty. In the short time that Idan had been walking, he hadn’t seen a single moving car, let alone a parked one.
On the way, he met only a few pedestrians and curious glances that looked out of windows and doors.
As for the streets themselves, they were in pretty good condition and kept clean.
“It’s incredible that the city has been preserved in such good condition.”
Even in the Central Continent, it was difficult to find such a surviving city.
“According to Elira, the Oases appeared before the Third Disaster. This means that the Third Disaster may not have affected them at all,” concluded Idan.
Perhaps it was because of this that there was not the chaos here on the Eastern Continent that they had experienced on the Central One.
After seeing everything he wanted, Idan quickened his pace and soon reached a closed and guarded area of the city.
“Fuyu,” he whistled, noticing the armed guards.
Idan was even more surprised when he saw that they were all Golden-ranked Fire Element cultivators.
“What a serious security detail.”
Remembering that the rank restrictions inside the Oasis were at the Golden Rank level, Idan realized that this was no joke.
“Okay, I’ll go ask, maybe they’ll let me in if I tell them I’m here on business,” he thought. “It’s not always the same to look for hidden and crude ways to solve problems.”
Idan, hands in his pockets, sauntered towards the guarded gate that led to the area.
The guards quickly noticed him and immediately became alert, pointing their machine guns at him.
“Hey, hey, hey,” — Idan quickly raised his hands up without waiting for a command.
“Freeze!” one of the guards shouted, and Idan stopped.
“This is a closed area, no trespassing!” the guard continued.
“I can see that,” Idan nodded and replied calmly, “I don’t want any problems. But I’m here on business. I’m looking for several people, and it just so happens that they ended up here.”
The guards exchanged glances. All of them could feel the fluctuations coming from Idan, characteristic of creatures of the Golden rank.
“Are you an Awakened One or a Contractor?” one of the guards asked.
“Contractor?” repeated Idan, hearing the word for the first time.
His bewilderment only increased the guards’ alertness, who realized that this was not a local resident, but an outsider. After all, the locals knew well who the Contractors were.
“I’m an Awakened One,” Idan confessed.
One of the guards took out a walkie-talkie and started talking to someone.
Idan watched the scene carefully. He understood that these were not ordinary guards.
“Most likely, these are former soldiers who, like the members of the Black Limit, received the help of Creatures from other worlds in order to reach the Golden Rank,” he thought.
It was becoming clear that instead of the Creatures of Light, these soldiers here had received the help of Creatures from the World of Fire.
“Is it possible that here Contractors are called those who have gained power with the help of creatures from other worlds?”
What caught Idan’s attention even more was their weapons.
For the Golden Rank, ordinary bullets, of course, still pose a danger, but not so deadly anymore.
However, watching how confident these people were, Idan began to suspect that the bullets in their machine guns were not simple. Perhaps they are enhanced by the element of fire or even aura.
In this case, the situation becomes very serious.
“Stand here and wait!” the guard ordered after finishing his negotiations.
“Okay,” Idan replied.
Soon, a convoy of three black SUVs drove up to the place.
When the SUVs stopped, a group of armed guards jumped out of the last and driven car. One of the guards came up and opened the back door of a medium-sized SUV, from which a statuesque woman with long black hair and brown eyes got out.
She was wearing a black coat with an unusual coat of arms, on which the letter “B” was emblazoned.
Idan’s curiosity got the better of him, and he immediately activated the “Eye ща Identification.”
