Chapter 1108: So the rumors are true.
Chapter 1108: So the rumors are true.
The tall, partially destroyed building, which withstood the harsh new conditions, was quickly fortified with the help of magic and protected from the destructive effects of high temperatures.
The brittle old concrete was replaced with a new, more durable material, which was fused with new types of durable metals.
Instead of the molten and cracked glasses, new ones were used, made from minerals found in the new world.
Only now, standing at the foot of this building, Idan noticed that there were five more similar structures in the city around the dungeon gates.
There are six tall towers in total, one in each of the Fire Faction territories.
The building, partially converted into a tower in front of Idan, was still being restored and completed in height.
“Don’t tell me that even the Factions are competing to see which tower is higher?”
“It looks like it,” nodded Prina, who was standing next to him and shared his guess.
Idan lowered his gaze and, looking at his companion, asked:
“So, where are they now?”
“They’re going up,” Prina pointed to the upper floors of the tower.
“Let’s go after them.”
With a nod, Prina spread her dark wings and, picking up Idan with her Arc Force, soared upward at great speed.
Since the upper part of the tower was still being completed, it was easier to get there from above than from below. In addition, the tower’s defense from above was weaker.
Thanks to Prina’s hidden tag that was attached to Ryan, they knew exactly his location.
In the current state of the world, Prina’s concealment was almost flawless, and few people could notice her presence.
Moving stealthily, they almost simultaneously reached one of the upper floors, where the messenger brought Ryan.

In the room, which was not yet fully equipped, but had already been restored, there were two female creatures.
One of them was standing by a tall window with a view of the city at the dungeon gates. It seemed to merge with the gray light streaming through the mineral glass of the tower. Tall, slender, with an immaculately straight posture.
The second woman, deeply immersed in her thoughts, was sitting on a red sofa, clearly worried about something.
The silence in the room was interrupted by a knock on the door.
The door swung open, and a young man walked inside with confident steps.
As soon as Ryan crossed the threshold, the door slammed shut behind him, and the envoy who had brought him here remained outside.
The first person Ryan saw when he entered the room was the back of Ashen Seraphim, Lady Livia.
Although she resembled a human woman, her appearance was different from usual. Her beauty was not born of light, but of corruption. Her skin had a soft ash-gray hue.
The woman’s hair was long, heavy, and dark, with a silvery ashen sheen, as if the reflections of an extinguished fire had been frozen in them forever. This sight surprised Ryan greatly, because he was used to seeing the fiery red hair of most Creatures of Fire.
She slowly turned to Ryan, and a gentle smile played on her face.
Her eyes shone with a steady red light— not a true golden flame, but an ordinary one, well known to most representatives of the Fire Factions.
Behind her back hung translucent wings made of red flames and gray smoke. They did not shine with pure sacred heat, but rather resembled glowing coals hidden under ashes.
Seeing her smile, Ryan swallowed hard, despite his best efforts to remain calm. He barely looked away and met the eyes of the second woman.
He knew this woman well. She was the one who gave him power.
His Patroness.
The Envoy had not deceived him. She was really here.
She was wearing a long dark scarlet elder’s robe, embroidered with golden runes on the collar, sleeves, and wide belt. Unlike the other woman, who wore only pure gold, this representative of the middle clan kept red as the main color, allowing gold only to emphasize her status.
As Ryan already knew, the higher the status, the more complex the patterns on the clothes. His Patroness had runic patterns covering almost the entire upper part of her robe, but even so, her outfit did not violate the boundaries that separated them from the representatives of the inner circle.
Her skin had a warm bronze hue, and two smooth horns decorated with thin gold rings curved from under her dark copper hair.
The scarlet eyes danced with the reflections of the usual red flame. She exuded the pressure of a fifth-rank being: not a rare blessing from a higher element, but the hard-earned strength of an elder accustomed to keeping an entire clan in line.
Ryan, barely able to notice the concern in his patron’s eyes, felt a pressure on him that made him fall to his knees. Following that, a raging fire engulfed him.
Idan, who was watching through the Soul Force hidden by Prina’s power, almost rushed in after seeing Ryan being attacked.
However, Prina stopped him at the last moment.
“Wait, look,” she said, pointing at Ryan.
The fire surrounding Ryan disappeared, and Idan saw him, breathing heavily, but still alive. His clothes were partially burned, and there were burns on his skin.
“What’s all this about?” Idan asked Prina, and she pointed at Livia.
Livia had a slight smile on her face. She looked at Ryan’s patroness and asked:
“You knew that, didn’t you, Saelina?”
The woman, without taking her eyes off Ryan, nodded and confessed with a sigh.:
“Yes, I knew.”
“So the rumors are true. Some of the locals can really awaken an affinity with the element of fire and free themselves from the bonds of dependence,” Livia said.
Meanwhile, an epiphany suddenly flashed through Idan’s mind, who was watching the scene unnoticed.
“Ryan was born with a predisposition to the element of fire!”
It explained a lot.
Ryan was still a Contractor.
However, unlike many others, the contract did not violate or change his natural path. He only awakened what was already embedded in him from birth. His main element was fire, and therefore the power of Fire creatures did not become an alien element to him. She became the key that opened the locked door.
Ordinary Contractors, whose nature is connected with water, earth, wind or ice, were forced to follow the path that was imposed on them — the fiery path. They could grow stronger, but every step removed them from their natural foundation and tied them more and more to those who gave them strength.
Ryan followed his own path. That was why his beauty stood out — his body was cleansed of impurities and became more and more perfect.
