Chapter 1201: In a stream of snow
Chapter 1201: In a stream of snow
Arslan’s barrier withstood the powerful impact of the avalanche, but was unable to hold them in place. The ground disappeared under their feet, and soon a torrent of snow was rapidly carrying them down the slope.
The round barrier created by Arslan began to rotate, mixing them inside and tossing them from side to side.
“Ai!”
“Damn!”
“Uaaa!”
In the blizzard, they couldn’t tell which was up and which was down.
“You should have chosen a round barrier!” Irene was loudly indignant, turning to Arslan. Everyone agreed with her, but they didn’t dare to scold him.
After all, he had protected them after all.
Boom!
As they rolled, something powerful crashed into the barrier, creating a small crack and knocking them aside.
After looking around, everyone was surprised to see a huge snow wolf moving in the middle of a stream of snow, as if floating on it.
Diamond Rank!
The hearts of Irene and the others, who only had a Platinum rank, trembled.
It reminded them that they were not on Earth, but in Limbo, a place where the limitations of their world did not exist.
“Get ready!” Lucinda shouted, and at that moment, the wolf slammed into the barrier with force, knocking them aside. A gap formed in the barrier, through which snow began to penetrate.
Together, one by one, they created circular barriers of different elements to strengthen Arslan’s barrier.
They couldn’t remove it, because then an avalanche would separate them, and having a Diamond-ranked Snow Wolf nearby was deadly.
All that remained was to wait, and judging by how fast they were slowing down, it wasn’t going to be long.
Less than a minute has passed since the avalanche started and before it stopped.
However, for the group trapped inside, time seemed to drag on indefinitely.
When the avalanche finally stopped, the main group found themselves far down the slope under a layer of snow. A white pall reigned over them, the wind howled, and the tracks of the snow stream looped chaotically.
Arslan felt sick, but at the same time, his face was warmed by a soft warmth. He didn’t have to wonder where he was for long when he heard Lucinda’s voice.:
“Please get up from me.”
He looked up and saw Lucinda’s impassive face staring straight at him. Arslan realized that he was lying with his face buried right between her breasts.
“Oh!” — before he knew it, he was forcefully dragged back and thrown to the side.
Arslan didn’t have to wonder who did it for a long time.
Of course, it was Irene, and what really scared Arslan was that she didn’t have her usual calm and cold expression on her face — instead, she looked furious.
He looked around for support and saw that Lina was forcefully holding Nemo in her arms, and Ned, already on his feet, was helping Milena up.
“I didn’t do it on purpose,” Arslan wanted to say, but suddenly he felt danger approaching.
He barely had time to turn around when something crashed into the barrier. This time, the barrier did not move as before, but was squeezed from all sides. There was nothing that could absorb some of the damage. The barrier burst, and only the elemental barriers erected by the others held the snow.
BZZZ!
Thunderbolts rang out.
The moment the wolf’s face appeared out of the snow, Lina was already standing in front with a sword in her hands, ready to attack, surrounded by lightning sparks.
Flash.
A lightning sword strike cut through everything in front of her — the barriers, the snow, and the wolf himself.
An explosion followed, and everyone was covered by the falling snow.
There was silence for a moment before a hand appeared from under the snow, and then another. One by one, the members of the group began to climb out of the snow and tidy themselves up.
Arslan, who came out first, reached out to help Irene, but she ignored his gesture, leaving him with a bitter feeling.
The anger on Irene’s face disappeared, replaced by her usual cold look. However, Arslan knew that she was still angry with him, and he understood that it would take time before she would completely calm down.
He sighed in disappointment and looked around, noticing the huge cut mark in the snow left by Lina’s sword strike.
There was a huge red spot in the snow below him.
Arslan swallowed hard, realizing that Lina had killed a Diamond-ranked beast with one blow.
The death of the Diamond-ranked wolf seemed to scare the other wolves, as Arslan did not notice any traces of other living creatures nearby.
Lucinda, recovering, quickly looked around and frowned.
“I told her not to leave the group!” she thought.
Everyone was fine, except for Hailey and one of Ned’s clones.
Ned abruptly raised his head, his eyes narrowed, and pinkish-purple energy flickered around for a moment.
“My clone is alive,” he said. “He should be by her side.”
“Can you identify where they are?” asked Milena.
Ned frowned harder, trying to get a sense of direction through the interference from the snowstorm and the energy raging around him.
“Approximately. They were swept away by another stream… quite far away.”

Meanwhile, somewhere in the distance, beyond the white veil of a snowstorm, Hailey did not even immediately understand what had happened.
A moment ago, she was being carried along by a torrent of snow, and now there was only darkness, cold, and a dense mass of snow that squeezed her from all sides. She tried to move, but quickly realized that she was stuck in an extremely uncomfortable position.
Head down and feet up.
“…”
Before Hailey could process the situation, there was a rustle from above.
Someone was shoveling snow quickly.
It was several snow wolves, sensing a live prey, eagerly began to dig it out.
And the first thing the wolves dug out from under the snow were Hailey’s feet.
The wolves froze for a moment, and then one of them, without hesitation, opened its mouth and grabbed her leg.
Wolf had no idea that it had just been bitten by a dragon’s leg.
The snow around them hissed suspiciously.
“Damn, it hurts!” came Hailey’s cry from under the snow.
In the next instant, a scarlet light burst out from under the snow. The temperature soared, the snow began to melt, turning into steam, and the wolf, who was still holding her leg, suddenly realized that the prey under him was not prey at all.
It was the volcano that it had just awakened.
