“I think so too,” Nemo supported her.

The others just listened to their conversation.

For Irene, Arslan, Milena and Hailey, this was their first Forbidden Zone.

After checking their equipment and making sure that everyone had enough Fire Crystals just in case, the group moved towards the icy mountain.

Since the beginning of the “Conquest”, the rules of the Forbidden Zone forbade flights.

The wings of the three Valkyries, which were their main advantage, could no longer help them. They had to climb the slope, which was getting steeper with each step, on their own two feet.

The cold was bone-chilling, and the wind was rising and falling.

With every passing minute, the group was spending more and more mana to protect themselves from the icy energy and stay on their feet during sudden gusts of wind and sudden snow storms.

And this is despite the fact that they haven’t even reached the entrance to the caves themselves yet.

This was exactly what this Forbidden Zone was famous for — it ruthlessly eliminated most of the daredevils already at the outer layer, not even allowing them to reach the middle one.

In the group, everyone was not only well acquainted with each other and understood what everyone was capable of, but also fully trusted each other.

Soon, for the first time, they encountered the hidden dangers of the white slopes – the ice ghouls, which one by one crawled out from under the snow. These former brave men, victims of harsh conditions, quickly surrounded the group.

“Finally!” chuckled Hayley, stretching her arms and preparing to fight the ghouls who were advancing from the right.

Milena pulled out her snow-white sword and positioned herself to meet the enemies on the left side. Ned stood next to her, and his hair turned pinkish purple with the energy of madness. Ten blades created from the energy of madness danced around him.

Two clones of Ned joined them from both sides: one in the form of the Alpha of Light, and the other in the form of the Alpha of Fire. Later, Ned’s clone in the form of the Alpha of Fire joined Hailey.

Arslan and Irene took on the enemies who were approaching from behind.

Nemo and Lina took the vanguard, and Lucinda was in the center, ready to help at any moment.

Hailey was the first to rush into battle, tearing apart the ghouls with her sharp dragon claws with thirst in her heart. She had a wide predatory smile on her face, and her dragon eyes searched for the next prey one by one.

The others followed her.

Nemo and Lina drew their swords and began to swiftly cut through the ghouls, clearing the way for the others.

The group continued to move, but due to the constant fighting, their speed dropped noticeably.

More and more ghouls appeared on their way.

Soon, they noticed nimble movements among the falling snow.

“Snow Wolves!” exclaimed Lucinda.

One of the blades created from the energy of Ned’s madness pierced the snow wolf, which attacked Milena from behind. She didn’t even pay attention to the wolf, instead beheading another ghoul, turned to Ned and nodded.

The wolves behaved differently from the ghouls: they did not rush at the group, but waited for the right moment to attack from the flank while they were busy killing the ghouls. Here, the division into pairs turned out to be very useful when the wolves attacked the group.

Due to the attacks of the wolves, the group was forced to shift to the left and continued on its way, constantly being subjected to new attacks.

“When will they end!” — Arslan exclaimed, marveling at how many ghouls they had encountered along the way.

“Consider this as the difficulty of ‘Conquering,'” Lucinda said, pointing out the reason for the large number of enemies. She then shouted towards the raging dragon,

“Hailey, stay close, don’t move away from the formation!”

The team moved steadily forward, and soon they found themselves in an open area. At that moment, Lucinda noticed something unusual after several wolves tried to attack Milena and Ned.

“They’re attacking from the right again…” she frowned, watching the snow wolf disappear into the blizzard.

At first, it seemed to her that the beasts were just looking for a weak spot in their formation. However, the longer the fight went on, the more strangely anxious she became.

The wolves didn’t try to break through. They pushed them back, step by step, attack by attack, forcing the group to move further to the left.

Lucinda looked up and only then noticed the snow slope looming over them. The white mass seemed motionless, but thin cracks were already spreading across its surface.

The ground trembled slightly under his feet.

A dull, long-drawn rumble rolled somewhere above them.

Lucinda’s face paled in realization.

“Get back!” she shouted. “It’s a trap!”

High up on the slope, under the onslaught of a pack of wolves, the cracks rapidly spread, and the entire overhanging mass began to move.

A huge snow mass rapidly crashed down.

A few seconds before they were covered, Ned managed to grab Milena and retreat with his clone to Lucinda. Nemo and Lina, as well as Arslan and Irene followed suit.

Only Hailey and Ned’s clone in the guise of the Alpha of Fire, who had moved away, did not have time to return to the others.

Arslan immediately created many barriers around the group to protect them from the avalanche. However, he was unable to keep them in place, and the whole group was carried away by the flow of snow downwards, splitting from Hailey and Ned’s clone into different streams.
