Chapter 1209: The Middle Layer of Ice Caves

As the duel ended, the Ring of Madness Flames behind Ned began to slow down.

Gradually, it stopped and dissipated.

“Come on,” — Nemo called, continuing his way up the slippery icy stairs.

After the mine, they found themselves in a spacious cave where ice trees grew and snow fell from high ceilings.

After walking a little further, Irene noticed something strange: “Is it just me, or is the snowfall slowing down as we move along?”

After looking around, she tried to jump up, flying higher than Irene’s head, and landed gently.

Hailey, inspired by Lucinda, jumped up and flew high into the sky and it took her a while to return to earth.

“Stop!” commanded Irene, stopping her with a stern look when she tried to repeat her jump.

Hailey, smiling sheepishly, scratched her head guiltily.

About halfway through, the snowflakes stopped falling and hovered in the air.

Gravity completely disappeared, and the members of the group, one by one, began to float in the air.

“Wow,” — Hailey said with a smile, waving her arms in an attempt to stay in place.

“Fool!” — Irene cursed and, using her Soul Force, picked her up so that she would not fly away.

The other members of the group also began to attract each other using their Soul Forces.

Hailey couldn’t stop smiling, finding what was happening funny. However, the others did not share her optimism. The sudden disappearance of gravity did not bode well.

A minute later, the motionless snow began to move.

However, instead of falling down, it began to rise up.

Following the snow, the group began to climb up. Slowly at first, but with each passing second, their falling speed increased.

“Are we falling up?” wondered Hailey.

The others were silent, trying to figure out where they were “falling.” Because of the dense snow, it was difficult to distinguish anything.

“Watch out!” — Arslan exclaimed, noticing that the ceiling was rapidly approaching, and quickly created a protective barrier around the group.

Bam!

The round barrier crashed hard into the cave ceiling, which was dotted with sharp ice spikes. From the impact, the spikes crumbled into blue dust, which did not fall to the ground, but hovered in the air, and then slowly stretched to the nearest wall, turning back into an ice spike.

Arslan’s barrier was covered with cracks, but still managed to protect everyone from the impact.

No one was injured, and thanks to Arslan, everyone managed to prepare for the impact in time, without thinking about protection.

Arslan removed his barrier, and the group found themselves on the ceiling, surrounded by many sharp ice spikes.

“And what’s next?” asked Milena.

Nemo raised his head.

The call that had guided him before had disappeared, and now something else was pulling him forward, through the ice spikes.

“Let’s go there,” he said, pointing in the direction his call led him.

The others looked at each other and, having no other ideas, decided to follow him.

There was no point in sitting and waiting for gravity to change again. Besides, no one knew when it would happen.

Carefully, trying not to touch the thorns, the group slowly moved forward. Finally, they discovered a new passage and decided to follow it.

As they progressed, they began to doubt: Are they moving up or down?

Soon, they reached the edge of a huge chasm, the depth of which was not visible.

They noticed a passage on the opposite side, but could not find a bridge or ropes to help them cross the chasm.

Instead, the familiar Ice Wall appeared in front of them.

When they reached the Ice Wall, an inscription appeared on it:

“One must stay voluntarily so that the others can continue on their way.”
