Chapter 1254: A conversation with father-in-law.
Chapter 1254: A conversation with father-in-law.
The Third Ascension Trial.
With the birth of the children, the limitations of the System disappeared, and now they could run it at will.
The water in the bathroom was still warm.
Idan was gently hugging his wife, who was lost in thought.
“A week,” — Idan said.
Arabel turned back to him.
“In a week, it will be a month since the end of the Disaster, which means…”
“Mass teleportation,” — Arabel finished for him.
Idan nodded.
If everything went according to the established order, then about a month after each disaster, all the Awakened were teleported to Junonia. There, each of them received a task, and only after completing it could they return home.
“”I’ll spend these two days with you and the kids before the Reset,”” Idan said, hugging his wife tighter.
Arabel was very happy to hear that.
She turned around and kissed him passionately, and it only increased his desire. His hands squeezed her breasts, and Arabel moaned softly.
Soon, the water was splashing furiously in the bathroom, and the air was filled with passionate moans and the sounds of bodies touching.
They enjoyed each other’s company until the evening, only occasionally pausing to feed the children and change their diapers.
In the evening, relatives came to visit them to see the kids.
Arabel had not left the Family Home since she returned from the Wellness Center, and therefore neither Anna nor Richard had seen her since giving birth.
When she appeared in the living room, holding her daughter in her arms, her appearance immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
Arabel was beaming with happiness; there was no trace of the one who had recently given birth on her face.
Anna, Ivette, Inessa, and even Eleanor, who came to see the great-grandchildren, froze in amazement.
As women who had given birth to their children, they understood how difficult it was to be a young mother. But what they saw in front of them exceeded all their expectations.
The smile with which she looked at her children and the smiling man next to her was like sunlight.
After putting the cradles in the living room, the newly minted parents put their babies to bed.
While everyone was looking at Arabel, Ina was the first to run up to the cradles and look at her nephews.
“They’re so tiny,” she smiled.
Isenna, seeing her, began to whimper, and then began to cry loudly.
Her crying finally drew everyone’s attention to the children.
The women enthusiastically surrounded both cradles, looking at the children with tenderness.
Richard, smiling, walked up to Idan and shook his son-in-law’s hand.
“Peak of the Silver Rank,” Idan appreciated his father-in-law’s strength, shaking his hand. “Just one step away from the Golden Rank.”
Then his gaze fell on Anna.
Golden rank.
“The ones who really worked hard were these two,” Idan thought with a smile.
And most importantly, these two clearly demonstrated how effective the “Dual Cultivation” manual is.
Remembering recent events, Idan quickly decided that he should borrow the manual to finally study it and return the favor to his wife.
“Would you like to join me at the bar?” Richard suggested to Idan, glancing at the women. “I think they have something to discuss—their feminine secrets.”
Idan looked at Arabel. Earlier, he promised to be with her and the children these days, so he wanted to know her opinion.
She nodded with a smile.
“Why not?” agreed Idan, and the two of them left the family home.
Once in the living room of a two-story house in the Kingdom, they went outside.
They were walking slowly towards the entrance to the Coldhouse when Richard spoke up,
“Anna said she wants children.”
Idan turned to him. Arabel had already told him how her mother had asked how they would react if she and Richard had more children.
“What do you think?” asked Idan.
“I want that too, but I’m afraid that for Arabel and Arslan it will mean that we decided to start all over again. To have another child and become the parents we couldn’t be for them,” Richard said softly.
They continued walking, but silence fell between them.
After reflecting on Richard’s words, Idan said:
“I can’t speak for Belle. But knowing her, I don’t think it will upset her. Especially now that she has become a mother herself.”
After a short pause, he added:
“I think she’ll realize over time that you and Anna have suffered too. You’ve been robbed of the opportunity to learn what it’s like to be real parents, to raise children, and to be with them.”
Richard stopped for a moment, looking at his young son-in-law’s back.
If his daughter hadn’t met Idan, he probably wouldn’t be here right now. Arabel would not have been so happy, and Anna, after so many years of marriage, would not have dared to admit that she loved him.
They were married against their will. He eventually fell in love with her, but he never knew for sure how she felt in return. Anna was loyal to him, jealous, didn’t let him get away, and always considered him her own—but she never said the words he wanted to hear.
Now she hadn’t just confessed her love for him. She wanted another child with him. Not because the families demanded it, and not for the sake of duty. This time, she chose it herself.
“Thank you,” Richard said softly and stepped forward with a slight smile.
Idan, hearing his words, just nodded silently.
At the Coldhouse, Simon greeted them with his professional smile, standing behind the bar. The hall was full, and with the opening of a new passage to the Realms, there were even more guests.
Richard, as a man who was well versed in alcohol, ordered something strong, while Idan, true to his habits, settled on a soft drink.
They spent time having a leisurely conversation, in which Richard talked about himself and his family, trying not to mention the Morgan family. However, he did not hide his relationship with Anna and how he first realized that he had fallen in love with her.
Their conversation was interrupted when Idan received a message from Leo via the {Local Systems Network}.
Leo reported that the Kingdom’s Contribution System is already ready, but before launching, he would like to discuss some details in person, without prying eyes.
