Chapter 1255: Leo's System.
Chapter 1255: Leo’s System.
“Okay, go on, I’ll do it myself,” — Richard said to Idan when they returned to the Kingdom.
Idan nodded and moved into Leo’s room.
The room was dark, with lots of screens. The owner of the room sat in front of them, head bowed, and dozed off.
It hasn’t been long since Idan received the message and showed up here, but during that time Leo managed to fall asleep.
It was a clear indication of how tired he was from his grueling training.
For a moment, Idan even thought about leaving and giving Leo a well-deserved rest. However, at that moment, a screen appeared next to Leo.
[Hello! (✧∀✧)/]
The corners of Idan’s lips trembled slightly.
Then there was a loud sound of music in the room.
Leo, who was sleeping, jumped to his feet abruptly.
“Ouch!” he exclaimed, clutching his leg, and collapsed to the floor with a cry of pain.
The music stopped abruptly.
“Damn System!” — Leo cursed, feeling the pain in his muscles, which was the result of forced training.
At the same time, he cursed Ryan, Hailey, and the baby dragon in his mind.
“Huh?”
Opening his eyes slightly, he felt the presence of an outsider in his room.
Taking a closer look, he saw Idan standing there, looking at him intently, unperturbed.
“King!” exclaimed Leo and jerked violently.
“Damn!” he cursed as a sharp pain shot through his muscles.
While Leo was recovering and regaining his breath, a screen with the title “Kingdom Contribution System” appeared in front of Idan.
“Hmm…” said Idan with obvious interest and immersed himself in reading.
With each line he read, Idan became more and more convinced of the correctness of his decision to entrust this matter to Leo.
Leo coped with the task perfectly, even better than he expected.
Everything was provided here: integration with {Local Systems Network}, registration of Kingdom members, contribution points accumulation system, rank system, purchase and sale of items, a quest page, floating prices, and, most importantly, the integration of the “Trade” function, which appeared here as a Mysterious Store.
Idan spent some more time reviewing Leo’s prepared Contribution System. He really did a great job.
However, Idan wasn’t going to start the system right now. It affected all members of the Kingdom, which meant it should not have been based solely on the opinions of two people and one System.
“It looks good,” he finally said. “But before launching the Contribution System, I will send it to Arabel and the rest of the Kingdom’s leaders. Let them review it first and suggest changes.”
Leo, wincing from the pain, sank into a chair.
“You can send them this version,” he agreed. “But this is just the basis, it is still necessary to determine which products will be available in the Mysterious store and how its assortment will be formed…”
One by one, Leo listed all the issues that needed to be agreed upon before the system could be fully launched.
“Don’t worry about the starting capital, Belle and I will contribute it ourselves before the start,” Idan said after checking the number of fire crystals in his storage.
“As for the Mysterious Store, we will provide access to a small number of items at the initial stage. As the Contribution System develops, we will gradually add new products.”
Leo listened attentively, and the screen next to him displayed the recordings that his System had made.
When Idan finished speaking, Leo didn’t immediately respond. He stared at the lines appearing in front of him for a few seconds, as if trying to decide whether to say something that no one had known about until now.
“There is another feature that I would like to add to the Contribution System,” he finally said. “However, I cannot make this decision alone. I’ll need your approval and Arabel’s.”
Idan noticed an unusual hesitation in his voice.
“What is this function?” he asked.
Leo fell silent.
Until now, he had intentionally not revealed the true nature of his System. Even her closest associates only knew about her capabilities, which he used in front of their eyes. Telling everything meant revealing one of his main secrets and at the same time admitting how dangerous his power could become.
Nevertheless, Idan would not have been able to make an informed decision without it.
“Before I explain, I’ll have to tell you about my System,” Leo said.
Idan didn’t say anything, just patiently waiting for him to continue.
After a short pause, Leo finally spoke.:
“I am the Host of the Operator’s System.”
Idan frowned slightly.
“The Operator?”
“My System specializes in creating and managing information networks,” Leo explained. “Before the advent of {Local Systems Network}, I could only interact with regular networks, cameras and other devices, receive and project information, and create my own network.”
Leo was silent for a moment, and then continued:
“However, after the advent of {Local Systems Network}, my capabilities have expanded. Now the Operator’s System is able to connect directly to the Systems of other Hosts.”
He looked at Idan, waiting to see his reaction, but Idan’s frown only deepened.
“Having received permission to connect, I can turn each System into a separate node of a common network. These nodes will be able to communicate with each other, exchange information and provide me with the data available to them.”
“What kind of data?” asked Idan.
Leo didn’t hide it.
“It depends on the level of access that I have been granted. I can find out the location of a Host, its current status, characteristics, and other information that its system possesses. If the integration is deep enough, I will also be able to use connected nodes for monitoring and messaging.”
The room was silent for a moment.
Idan immediately understood what that meant. If all members of the Kingdom connect to Leo’s network, he will be able to see their location and condition at any time, keep in touch with remote units and receive information from a vast territory. The Operator’s system will turn it into the center of a unified network covering the entire Kingdom.
In fact, Leo will become a living command center.
“Will you be able to monitor all the connected Hosts?” asked Idan.
“Yes, if they give me the necessary access,” Leo replied honestly. — “But such a deep connection is not required for the Contribution System to work.”
He touched the screen, and a brief description of the proposed feature appeared in front of Idan.
“At the first stage, the Operator’s System will only perform the function of registering members of the Kingdom, determining their location and tracking their general condition. This will give us the opportunity to understand where our people are and whether they are in danger. Access to stats, skills, repositories, and other personal data will not be requested.”
“Will you be able to expand these permissions in the future?” Idan asked.
“Only if the Host agrees to provide them voluntarily, and you and Arabel approve the appropriate function,” Leo replied. “I can create such an opportunity, but I do not plan to connect anyone secretly.”
Idan looked at the description again.
Such a network could be an invaluable tool. It would allow you to instantly find missing people, warn detachments of dangers and coordinate the actions of members of the Kingdom, regardless of the distance. However, if it were abused, it could turn into a means of constant surveillance.
Now Idan understood why Leo didn’t want to make a decision on his own.
“Does anyone else know about the capabilities of your System?” – he asked.
“No,” Leo replied, shaking his head. “You’re the first one I’ve told.”
Idan stared at him.
Leo readily shared a secret that could make him indispensable to the Kingdom, but at the same time aroused fear and distrust. This fact alone testified to how seriously he approached decision-making.
“Okay,” — Idan finally said. “I’ll keep it a secret. But we will make the final decision together with Belle.”
Leo nodded in agreement.
