Chapter 1279: We've seen enough

Chapter 1279: We’ve seen enough

{Ghost Stats} gave Idan and Arabel incredible {Dexterity}, taking them beyond the Diamond rank. However, even that wasn’t enough to completely dodge the attacks.

Idan felt no pain.

He only saw his left arm disappear along with part of his torso, as if these parts had never existed.

A few meters away, Arabel’s body split into pieces of ice from her right shoulder to her stomach. The combined power of the dragons had completely destroyed a significant portion of it.

The light Flames around Idan flared up violently, filling the missing part of his torso. A new hand slowly formed from the stream of flames. Arabel’s icy body also began to recover, overgrowing with transparent crystals.

They survived.

But along with the recovery, their energy was rapidly decreasing.

Idan shifted his gaze to the two dragons. The wounds they inflicted were already healing, while he and Arabel needed to spend a huge portion of their strength just to survive one attack.

One or two more such attacks and they would be defeated.

In addition, the duration of the Spirit Form was limited for both of them, and in the Tower it did not depend on the Source of the elements.

Everything became very clear.

These opponents were too tough for them.

Idan clenched his fists.

“Is this really our limit?” he thought, looking at the two writhing dragons.

Anything below the sixth rank posed no danger to them. However, they have not yet reached the strength of the sixth rank.

Yes, they could fight back, but only for a short time. No matter how strong they were, their capabilities were limited by the existence, quality, and supply of Platinum-ranked energy.

The tower wouldn’t let them die. In case of mortal danger, she would just throw them outside. But all the wounds received up to that point would have remained with them.

Idan didn’t want to test how many hits they could take before the Tower intervened. They’ve already seen enough.

Continuing the fight would bring them nothing but new wounds.

The light flame surrounding Idan gradually faded away, acquiring its usual scarlet hue. Soon, it completely disappeared, returning Idan to his true form as an Alpha of Fire.

“Dan…” Arabel said anxiously, looking at him.

Idan, turning to his wife, acknowledged with a sigh:

“The 9th floor is our current limit, Belle. There’s no point in continuing.”

“But…” Arabel wanted to protest, saying that they hadn’t checked everything yet. However, after looking at the dragons who were full of strength and had already fully recovered, as well as assessing their remaining reserves of energy, she was forced to admit the truth.

Idan was right.

There was no point in continuing the fight unless she wanted to die or be driven off the Tower with massive damage.

There was no point in continuing the battle.

As soon as Arabel dispelled her Spirit Form, her body began to change. Her hair fell off, and she regained her natural red color.

The sword in her hands took the shape of a wedding ring.

She walked over to her husband.

Idan glanced at her, and then at the two dragons, who had been idle and waiting all this time.

“We’ve seen enough,” he said. “System, end the current attempt and get us out of here.”

The light and dark dragons split into particles of light and darkness and disappeared, leaving Idan and Arabel alone.

[25,000 System Points are awarded to each participant for completing the 9th floor of the Tower of Trials.]

[Congratulations! For completing the 7th floor, you have received a special Achievement and qualified for the Epic Rank in the Local System Network.]

[Your rank in the Local System Network has been upgraded to Epic.]

[Your score has been entered into the Golden Rank ranking of the Tower of Trials.]

[Ding! Please choose the place where you want to exit: Entrance to the Tower of Trials or Exit the Systems Dungeon?]

Idan and Arabel exchanged glances. They simultaneously wanted to select the option to “leave the Dungeon of Systems” without making too much noise.

“Wait,” — Idan said. He thought that since they had reached the 9th floor and their achievements were already included in the “Gold Rank” ranking, they should surely have been ranked first and second on the list.

Many members of the Kingdom were probably waiting for their return.

“Let’s go out through the Tower gate,” — Idan suggested. “They’re waiting for us. Not just as Idan and Arabel, but as the leaders of the Kingdom.”

Arabel blinked in surprise and then smiled.

“You’re right,” she nodded. “We can’t just leave. They might think we’re avoiding them.”

“Especially since we’ve been in the shadows for too long. It’s time to assert yourself.”

Arabel’s usual casual clothes began to transform, and soon she was wearing her black Kingdom Guild uniform.

Idan grinned and changed his outfit as well, donning a similar uniform that belonged to their Guild.

“We choose the entrance to the Tower of Trials,” they said in one voice.

A glow flashed in the private Lobby of the Trial Tower, and two figures appeared in front of the entrance.

When the glow of teleportation disappeared, Idan and Arabel found themselves in front of a huge crowd of people and beasts. All eyes were on them. A tense silence hung in the air.

“Dan, look,” Arabel whispered, nudging Idan in the side.

Turning around, he saw the rating wall.

——————–

The Rating of “Golden ranks”.

Most Beautiful Queen – 9th Floor Most Handsome King – 9th Floor Lord of the Dead

…

——————–

“Hmm… you’re the first this time,” — Idan said with a chuckle.

Arabel rolled her eyes.

“Is that the only thing you noticed?” she asked.

“What else is there… wait, the 9th floor?”— only then did he see that next to their nicknames was the last floor they had overcome, and not the one they had stopped at.

Interestingly, Lord of the Dead, who was in third place, did not have the last floor listed.

“Yes, it shows the last floor we went through, not the tenth floor where we stopped,” Arabel said aloud.

The surrounding crowd gasped in surprise.

“And I thought that we would return only the first two places without revealing such details,” Idan said, realizing the possible consequences. He didn’t even need to log into the {Local Systems Network} to understand what discussions were going on there right now.

Arabel realized it too, and for a moment her face clouded. But soon she became familiar again, and a smile appeared on her face.

“So what if my family finds out about this?”

“Dan has already put the past behind him and established a relationship with his family. It looks like I’ll have to take care of my family soon and close all the old issues.”
