Chapter 1278: 10th Floor

Chapter 1278: 10th Floor

[Welcome to the 10th floor of the Tower of Trials!]

[Defeat 2 beasts of the initial sixth rank.]

Idan had no time to explore the new arena when Arabel rushed to him and kissed him hard on the cheek.

“Mua!” she said with a joyful sound.

“Thank you,” — Arabel thanked him.

She went through all nine floors alone. The last fight had been intense, and she was very tired after using several spatial slashes in a row. But it was worth it.

“You’re welcome,” — Idan smiled, pleased that his wife was in a good mood.

“By the way, what happened then?” he asked curiously.

“Twin moonblades,” — Arabel said. “I realized that I don’t need to learn other types of weapons, and my second form for the Vow of Darkness will be twin blades. And it’s all thanks to you, my dear husband.”

“Twin blades?”

At that moment, two clusters of energy appeared on the opposite side of the arena—a white one and a black one.

The opponents of the 10th floor were about to appear.

Idan lowered his gaze and looked into Arabel’s eyes.

“Can you handle it on your own or do you need help?” he asked.

Arabel pouted and slapped him lightly on the chest.

“Are you kidding me? Of course, I can’t do it alone.”

Idan laughed, looked down, gave her a quick peck on the lips and released her.

The white and black clumps trembled at the same time, after which two long silhouettes began to appear from them.

A long white silhouette floated out of the white glow first. Its elongated snake-like body was covered with pearl-white scales with golden edges. A shining mane, like a flame woven from the sun’s rays, stretched along his back, and two long golden horns crowned his head.

The creature had no wings, but it floated freely in the air, slowly twisting among the radiating rings of light.

The four paws with sharp claws seemed too small for such a huge body, but the pressure coming from them made the space tremble. A dazzling white glow was coming out of the creature’s mouth, and its golden eyes looked serenely at Idan.

A long dark silhouette emerged from the black clot after him. It had the same long and wingless body, but its matte-black scales seemed to absorb the surrounding light. A thick dark mane flowed along the ridge, resembling clouds of living smoke, and curved horns looked like fragments of the night sky.

Ribbons of darkness wriggled around the clawed paws, leaving fast-disappearing cracks in the air. Two purple eyes flashed on his shadowed face and fixed on Arabel.

Idan and Arabel froze.

The creatures in front of them were undoubtedly dragons. They felt it from the power and ancient grandeur that emanated from them. However, these dragons were completely unlike any they had ever met.

They looked more like Eastern dragons than the Western ones they were used to.

They had no wings, but they floated in the air so naturally, as if the sky itself served them as a support. Their long bodies slowly circled around each other, turning the light and darkness into a huge double spiral.

The Dragon of Light and the Dragon of Darkness.

These creatures exuded a completely different presence and pressure than all the enemies Idan and Arabel had encountered in the Tower.

Against the backdrop of the majestic dragons, Idan and Arabel seemed very small and insignificant.

They looked at each other, and there was no fear in their eyes, just determination and a desire to challenge.

Idan took a step forward.

His dark hair burst into flames and then engulfed his entire body.

There was no reason to hold back, and he immediately took the Flame Spirit Form. The Scarlet flame shone, gaining the radiance of the Light Flame and the purple-pink brilliance of the Energy of Madness.

Before the Dragons, Idan appeared in his Light Flame Spirit Form, enhanced by the Energy of Madness.

Arabel stood next to him, acquiring her strongest Spirit Form, the Mad Dark Ice Spirit Form.

Her snow-white body, as if made of the purest ice, shone with a pinkish-purple light, and her long black hair flowed freely like water, as if it had a life of its own.

The Dragons attacked first.

The light dragon opened its mouth, and the radiance contained in it flashed like a tiny sun. At the same moment, an impenetrable darkness gathered around the black dragon’s head.

Light and darkness rushed towards each other.

For a brief moment, it seemed to Idan that the opposing forces would collide and destroy each other. However, instead, they joined together to form a huge rotating stream, divided into two equal halves.

“Watch out!” shouted Idan.

He and Arabel ran away at the same time.

A two-colored stream swept between them and struck the far side of the arena.

The roar made the entire tenth floor tremble.

Behind Idan and Arabel, a significant part of the stone platform disappeared. It didn’t split or crumble—it just disappeared. In its place was a huge chasm with perfectly smooth edges, over which the remnants of light and darkness writhed for a few more moments.

Idan froze for a split second.

He had seen many attacks, and the only thing stronger than this attack was the explosion of a nuclear bomb.

This kind of power could not be generated by any of the dragons individually. Light and darkness collided, but instead of destroying each other, they merged into a single force. The opposing energies resonated, magnifying the destructive effect many times over.

If this attack had hit them…

He didn’t finish the thought.

Idan couldn’t help but glance at Arabel.

It looked as if the Tower had deliberately chosen creatures capable of turning their own advantage against them. The Dragons of Light and Darkness weren’t just two opponents. They were a reflection of themselves—they just acted as a whole.

“Dan, catch it!” Arabel tossed him his ring.

Idan grabbed the Vow of Light and, without hesitation, turned it into a sword. He filled the blade with Light Flames enhanced by the Energy of Madness, and made a Sun Slash using the Sun Sword style.

At the same time, Arabel, who was standing next to him, swung the Dark Queen’s sword, and the space in front of her blade split.

The two attacks merged into a single cross-shaped slash that rushed towards the dragons.

However, they did not try to dodge. The Light and Dark dragons continued to hover in the air, seemingly oblivious to the approaching threat.

A cross-shaped slash pierced right into their bodies.

Following that, a Light Flame exploded, engulfing the arena with fire, darkness, and dazzling radiance. A shockwave swept through the floor, causing the space to shake.

Idan did not take his eyes off the raging flames.

When it dissipated, his face contorted.

A thin scratch appeared on the pearl-white scales of the Dragon of Light. Several scales of the Dragon of Darkness were split open, and a drop of thick black blood flowed out of the shallow wound.

That’s all.

Their combined attack achieved its goal, but did not cause serious damage to the dragons.

The golden eyes of the white dragon focused on Arabel.

The purple eyes of the black dragon met Idan’s gaze.

And then both creatures opened their mouths at the same time.

“Already?!” exclaimed Arabel.

The second attack appeared faster than the first.

And it was more powerful.

Idan managed to notice a flash of white light and absolute darkness spreading around her. In the next instant, the combined stream appeared right in front of them.

They didn’t have time to dodge.

Light and darkness engulfed their bodies.
