Chapter 1298: Well… It's a secret.
Chapter 1298: Well… It’s a secret.
“So you’re saying that damn fox has spoken?” asked Idan, staring intently into his wife’s eyes.
Arabel looked away, embarrassed, and nodded.
She remembered how, after her previous brief awakening, she fell asleep again, but this time she woke up in the very space where other versions of her live.
She spent all the time there while she was sleeping, in the company of Black, Pink, Blue and Silver.
They were playing cards while discussing Idan and the children, when suddenly Shady’s voice was heard speaking in Darkia’s voice. She reported Christopher’s death and that Idan had killed him.
Silver dropped the dark fox and stared at Shadу as if she wasn’t seeing her best friend, but a stranger.
That was the last thing Arabel remembered before she woke up.
She didn’t wake up because she was shocked by Christopher’s death. She woke up to hear that Idan had already started acting while she was sleeping.
The fact that Darkia’s hidden spy had spoken in his wife’s mind couldn’t help but alarm Idan. Arabel sensed his concern and tightened her grip on his hands.:
“Dan, don’t worry about it, I can handle it.”
And then she decided to change the subject.:
“Tell me, what happened while I was sleeping? How are our children?”
Idan, after a short silence and a sigh, replied:
“The children are fine. I visited your parents recently, they’re doing great, so don’t worry about them.”
Without waiting for her next question, Idan contacted Sierra to let her know that Arabel had woken up.
Less than five seconds later, there was a knock on the door.
“Hmm… Who is this?” Arabel asked in surprise, turning to the door, which opened softly and Sierra entered the bedroom.
“Big sister,” — Arabel greeted her happily.
“Look who’s finally awake,” Sierra smiled, and then, coming closer, began checking Arabel’s condition.
Arabel looked from Sierra to Idan, yawning at the same time, fighting the urge to lie down and go back to sleep.
“Is something wrong with me?” asked Arabel, already anticipating the answer.
“You’re just having a side effect of the Law of Ice, sis,” Sierra confirmed.
“Heh, heh, heh,” — Arabel laughed softly. Of course, her Ascension was not without another unexpected consequence.
“Is that why I feel weak and want to lie down and take a nap?”
“Yes,” Sierra nodded.
“What about Dan?” asked Arabel, turning to her husband. “Does he also have a side effect from the lightning law?”
Sierra also turned her gaze to Idan. She didn’t know what to say, because unlike Arabel, she didn’t notice any signs of the Lightning law affecting him.
Seeing Sierra’s gaze and her husband’s calm demeanor, Arabel pouted resentfully.
“Why is it just me again? It’s not fair!”
That offended look and pouting lips almost made Idan laugh. His wife looked so cute when she was offended! If Sierra hadn’t been here, he would have just kissed that face.
“You misunderstood me, honey,” Idan said softly. “When I woke up, it was like I was recharged with energy. My head was buzzing, my body was shaking, and I couldn’t rest—I always wanted to do something and move.”
Two pairs of eyes stared at him in surprise, and they both blinked in unison.
“I think I’ve found a solution to this problem,” Idan said with a smile.
“Really? What is it?” — Arabel asked anxiously.
“Well… It’s a secret.”
With his answer, Idan broke the expectation of both women.
“I’m sure that won’t help you right now,” he hastened to add.
Although his hypothesis was that it was the three-hour fishing trip that helped him get rid of the influence of the lightning law, he couldn’t verify it. His fishing rod was in the process of being rolled back, and only after more than six days would he be able to reenter the Space of the Thousand Shores.
Idan wanted to bring Arabel there and surprise her.
This time, even Sierra looked a little offended.
Idan couldn’t figure out if this was a game to support Arabel, or if she was really upset with him. Soon after, she wished Arabel to rest and assured her that everything would pass by itself soon, and left the bedroom, leaving them alone.
“You do realize that you seem to have offended my older sister, don’t you?” chuckled Arabel, snuggling into his warm embrace.
“Yes, it looks like it,” Idan agreed, gently kissing the top of her head.
After sitting there for a while, Idan suggested:
“Let’s go inside the Family Home, I want to show you something.”
“Okay,” Arabel agreed, and the two of them disappeared into the Family Home.
They appeared in the living room, and Arabel’s gaze immediately settled on something that had not been there before— a family photo frame that decorated a previously empty wall.
“This is…”
“That’s exactly what I wanted to show you. A family photo frame,” Idan said proudly, explaining where he got it from.
“Did you win it in the lottery?” she asked to make sure she hadn’t misheard.
“Yes, and besides the frame, I also got this,” Idan pulled out a scented candle.
Arabel laughed when she read the names and blushed slightly.:
“I don’t think we need such things to spend time together. We’re already doing well in this regard.”
“I agree,” Idan agreed with her. “I thought maybe I should give this to someone later.”
Arabel thought for a moment, and then asked:
“Do you mind if I take this for myself and decide who to give it to?”
“Of course, take it, I don’t need it,” Idan didn’t need such items.
“As for that…” said Arabel, sitting down on the floor and taking out her collection of photos.
“Which ones do you think we should choose?” she asked, looking up at her husband.
Idan, of course, knew that Arabel was trading photos with Coco for candy, but he couldn’t imagine that she had already collected so many photos.
Among these photos were pictures from their wedding.
Idan sat down, and together they spent a lot of time choosing photos.
“As for the photos of the rest of the family, I’ll ask Coco to make them for me,” Arabel said, looking at the empty frames.
“That’s a great idea,” Idan agreed.
Looking at the family frame, Arabel opened the system window of the “Heart Bonds” function herself. She checked that she also has three unused lottery chances.
Knowing that her husband had already won, she decided to try her luck herself.
