Chapter 687: Not bad? That’s it?
The Old man not only actively participated in the construction together with the Doppelgangers, but also carefully monitored the final stages of preparation for the main event of today.
From time to time, he would pay his attention to the place that was currently surrounded by an impenetrable barrier.
Inside this barrier, the construction of the structures necessary for the wedding ceremony of the two Hosts of the Supreme System was being completed.
Everything went according to plan, without any unforeseen situations.
All the builders who worked under his leadership showed exceptional precision and professionalism. Over the years, they had earned the Old Man’s full trust, and there was no need for him to constantly monitor their work.
Instead, his attention was attracted by unusual creatures called Doppelgangers.
In the place where the Old Man came from, the Doppelgangers were not unique creatures. He met many amazing creatures, among which there were also similar Doppelgangers.
The Old man was really surprised to find such creatures in this place, as well as what they were doing — construction.
What struck him even more was that the Doppelgangers weren’t doing it under duress. Yes, the Old Man found out that they were following the call of their Ancestor, but they did it with sincere joy and enthusiasm, which could not but cause him surprise.
Until today, the creatures similar to the Doppelgangers that the Old Man saw were mostly engaged in completely different activities, but not construction.
For the Old Man, construction was everything. He devoted almost his entire life to this cause, being the Host of the Supreme System. And it was a real pleasure for him to see creatures who were doing this with the same zeal.
“What if these creatures can create copies of someone more talented than the mortals they have already copied?” This thought suddenly occurred to the old man. “What amazing places could they recreate?”
The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to test his assumptions. However, to his disappointment, he faced one problem: the doppelgangers were unwilling to follow his instructions. They were willing to accept advice that could improve their abilities, but categorically refused to do anything that went beyond their capabilities.
In the end, the old man decided that he needed to find the Ancestor of these creatures in order to discuss his ideas with her. But, to his great regret, the Ancestor was not here.
The old man, upon learning that their Ancestor was in another world connected to the world where he was now, felt despondent. However, his mood soon lifted when he learned that the Ancestor would definitely attend the upcoming wedding.
While waiting for this moment, the Old Man continued to give advice to the Doppelgangers and provide all possible assistance in construction. At this time, he again caught the gaze of the young owner of this place, to whose wedding he actually came.
“How rude,” the Old Man grumbled to himself, continuing to give advice to the Doppelgangers.
“Here he is, a real dedicated man,” Idan said with a smile, watching the old man’s enthusiasm.
“So there are only 11 of them?” said Idan aloud, having once again examined the Kingdom and found no other Hosts of the Supreme System. “Did I miss anyone?”
Having received no answer to his question, Idan turned his attention to Arslan and moved to him.
“Oh, Idan!” — Arslan exclaimed, at first surprised by his sudden appearance, but then broke into a smile.
“How do I look?” he asked, admiring his gorgeous light gray suit.
“Not bad,” Idan smiled.
“Not bad? Is that all?” Arslan seemed a little displeased. “Do you know who made this costume for me? And what amazing properties does it have?”
“Okay, I take it back, you look amazing,” Idan laughed. “I hope my sister appreciates it and likes it.”
“I hope so too,” Arslan said, turning to the mirror and examining himself.
“How is your relationship with Irene?”— Idan decided to ask, since he mentioned his sister.
“Well, there is a little progress,” Arslan smiled. “While you were unconscious, we found time one day and went on a big date in the Capital.”
“Oh, really?” asked Idan. “How did it go?”
“Hehe, not bad,” Arslan replied.
“Not bad? That’s it?” — this time Idan was unhappy with Arslan’s answer. The latter laughed in response, seeing his reaction.
“You can tell by her reaction that she liked it,” Arslan replied with a smile. “When I suggested we go out again sometime, she agreed.”
“Wow! If my sister really agreed, and did not remain silent, it means that she really liked it,” said Idan, who knew his sister well.
Irene was a bit reserved and wasn’t very interested in romance, as was Idan himself, who was also new to the field. If she didn’t like something, she immediately refused or just kept silent, keeping everything to herself. Idan, who has come across this many times, came to the conclusion that if Irene is silent, then most likely she does not like it.
“Really?”
After hearing Idan’s answer, Arslan felt incredibly inspired. He couldn’t wait to go on a date with Irene again and continue to develop their relationship.
“Of course. Believe me, I grew up under her, so I know her character,” Idan said with a smile, watching Arslan’s joy.
“What have you been doing lately besides dating my sister?” asked Idan.
“Have you probably heard that my mother and Irene’s mother both awakened an affinity with the element of Darkness?” asked Arslan.
“Yes, I’m aware,” Idan nodded.
“So, after learning that mother had become a cultivator, Father also became eager to achieve more. Since, apart from the help of other creatures, there is only the Path of the Beast Tamer that you and my sister spread, he decided to become a Beast Tamer.
In recent days, I’ve been helping him form a Soul Space and form his First Beast Soul.”
Idan immediately thought of Richard and how he looked after his stormy nights with Anna.
“Don’t say that,” Arslan snapped, noticing Idan’s strange look and guessing his thoughts.
Arslan felt a little awkward, because everyone around him knew that his parents led a very active life at night, and they could imagine who was dominating their relationship and who was suffering the most.
“Okay,” Idan replied, but then he thought about it.: “If Arslan is like his father and Arabel is like his mother, won’t Arabel become as dominant as her mother?”
Just this thought sent a chill down his spine, and at the same time, he felt a certain anticipation.
“And yes, which beast did he choose?” asked Idan, trying to distract himself from his thoughts.
“Guess what,” Arslan replied, inviting Idan to guess for himself.
“A rabbit?” — Idan joked with a smile, but when he noticed Arslan’s gaze, his smile froze.
“Did I guess right?” he asked, and Arslan nodded confidently in response.
