Chapter 688: Didn't buy it?
Chapter 688: Didn’t buy it?
“I guess you don’t need to explain why Father chose Rabbit?”
“Really, there’s no need,” — Idan agreed.
As the person who had distributed the guide to the Path of the Beast Tamer, Idan knew that those who were just starting out would receive an increase in stats depending on which beasts they contracted with.
For awakened ones like him, Arslan, Irene, and others, whose stats increase as they level up, the benefits of contracted beasts are not so obvious. However, the greatest benefit comes from the enhancement of the invisible stat “Soul Force”.
“I originally suggested that he sign a contract with one of the northern beasts that you have brought with you recently: a snow wolf or, in extreme cases, a snow fox,” Arslan sighed. “But in the end, he insisted on choosing a Rabbit.”
“I don’t know if signing a contract with a Rabbit would benefit him in his original intentions,” Idan shrugged, and Arslan nodded, unsure if choosing a Rabbit would help his father in his nighttime battle with his mother.
“By the way, my mother, your mother, Irene’s mother, and Leo’s mother also showed interest and expressed a desire to try cultivating the Path of the Beast Tamer,” Arslan added.
This did not come as a big surprise to Idan.
He thought it was only a matter of time before they started. When your friends become cultivators one by one, you want to try it too. And the fact that Anna and his mother Ivette were able to become cultivators thanks to the Sierra phenomenon, as well as the existence the Path of the Beast Tamer, should have pushed them sooner or later.
“What about Leo’s older brother?” asked Idan.
“When he moved here and found out about the opportunity to become a Beast Tamer, he immediately expressed his desire and joined the first group of Tamers,” Arslan replied.
“To ensure safety, all the beasts that the new Beast Tamers have contracted with are here in the Kingdom,” Arslan reminded. “We have not yet been able to find a suitable place to house all the beasts in the Capital, and according to our calculations, the Kingdom with its diverse biomes and temperature is ideal for this, as long as there is free territory.”
“I understand. I was going to consider the possibility of creating special beast shelters in the Capital and other cities, but due to current events, we don’t have time for that yet. I was also thinking about creating an artifact that would allow tamers to keep and carry a contracted beast with them,” Idan shared his initial plans.
“It would be great if we could find such an artifact,” Arslan agreed.
“That’s why I wanted to take a look at modified SUVs first and at least talk to whoever created them,” Idan said. “Of course, I can get the necessary information using my System and even drawings, but for mass production and implementation in our world, we need local craftsmen who can create something like this from available resources.”
“You’re right,” Arslan agreed.
“Idan, did you buy wedding rings?” Arslan asked, catching Idan off guard.
“Didn’t buy it?” Arslan’s eyebrows rose in surprise when he saw Idan’s reaction.
“There’s still time, I’ll make it,” Idan tried to justify himself.
“Okay, let’s discuss the rest later,” he said and, without waiting for an answer, teleported away. Arslan, of course, immediately guessed that Idan was in a hurry to resolve the issue related to the rings.
“And how could I forget about it?” — Idan lamented, appearing in his favorite place, next to a fiery sprout, which, wrapped around a fiery stone, actively absorbed it. And, as if sensing Idan’s presence, it broke away from the stone and began to reach out to him.
However, Idan did not notice this, immersed in his thoughts about the rings.
“The engagement ring purchase assignment is still fresh in my mind, and when the wedding is almost upon us, you don’t mention wedding rings, do you, the System?” asked Idan, surprised that the System had been silent all this time.
“Of course, a ring is not a mandatory attribute, but since I have already given Belle an engagement ring, then there should be a wedding ring.”
“Moreover, both the mother and the father, and her parents also wear rings, so why can only she be deprived of it?”
“Think, Idan, think, there must be a way,” Idan told himself, trying to figure out where to get the rings.
“The capital is not suitable,” Idan quickly decided, rejecting the idea of going to the Capital and buying a ring there, as he had already done with the engagement ring.
“Besides, there is a possibility that the Dark System has eyes everywhere, and they will immediately notice my appearance,” Idan mused, not excluding the worst options. “I can’t risk Belle’s safety, so that’s not an option.”
“There remains Limbo, the function of “Trading” and, as a last resort, contact one of the Hosts of the Supreme Systems,” Idan listed possible solutions.
Postponing the Limbo option for later, Idan opened his status and checked the number of available System Points.
“6035?” he frowned, noticing that about 3,000 System Points had disappeared.
Even while under the influence of the Energy of Madness, Idan managed to notice how many points he had left after using 1,000 to avoid waiting 10 minutes to prepare for teleportation. And there he confidently saw more than 9,000 System points.
Idan immediately remembered the words of the chef, the Host of the Supreme System, who said that he was ready to become a chef at his and Arabel’s wedding for a nominal fee.
“Considering that he and the other Hosts are here, it’s possible that the System used System Points to pay for this token fee,” Idan suggested.
“I am glad that the System did not use all the available System Points.”
Idan knew well that the easiest way for him to use the “Trade” function now.
“For six thousand I can buy a good artifact ring, but will Belle like it?” he mused.
“Knowing her, I can be sure that she will definitely like it,” Idan found the answer to his own question in less than a second.
However, this option did not suit him.
Today was a special day, and Idan wanted to surprise and please Arabel.
He wanted to give her something that she would never forget and carry with her all her life. Not just a ring that you can just take and buy, but something, something made with a soul.
“Hmm…” after thinking for a while, Idan teleported to the building where the Host of the Supreme Blacksmith System was located.
When Idan appeared at the door of the forge, he was immediately greeted by the sound of a hammer on an anvil and a heat that hit him in the face, but for him it was like a cool breeze.
“Oh, you’ve finally appeared,” the Blacksmith exclaimed, noticing his arrival.
Idan looked around and saw that there was no one in the forge except the Blacksmith himself and his young-looking wife.
The Blacksmith straightened up, put down his hammer and, moving away from the hot forge, sat down on a chair. His wife came closer and started wiping the sweat off him.
“What are you standing for, come in and sit down,” the Blacksmith invited, pointing to an empty chair in front of him.
“And what brings you here?” the Blacksmith asked as soon as Idan sat down in front of him.
“Can you forge a ring?” asked Idan bluntly.
“A ring, huh?” the Blacksmith was slightly surprised, but then expressed his opinion: “You shouldn’t have come to me, but to a jeweler or to that little girl who makes artifacts.”
“I know, but I need not just a ring, but something unique, and for that I need you,” Idan said confidently, making it clear that his visit here was not in vain.
“Ho, I’m a little interested in you,” the blacksmith replied. “Come on, tell me what’s on your mind.”
“You’ve already analyzed the Sacred Staff, haven’t you? Will you be able to create something like this, but instead of a staff, a sword?” asked Idan.
“Ahahahaha,” the Blacksmith couldn’t hold back his loud laughter.
“Are you demanding a reward without even completing the task itself?” he asked, smiling.
“Of the seven Sacred Weapons, you’ve only found one of them so far,” the Blacksmith reminded Idan. “Find the remaining six, and only then talk about something like that, young man.”
Idan, of course, had expected such a reaction.
“Tell me, Blacksmith, why do you need these Sacred and Dark Weapons? I’m sure there are more interesting and powerful specimens in your collection, aren’t there?” asked Idan, not doubting his words.
“Indeed,” the Blacksmith nodded, agreeing with Idan. “These Sacred and Dark Weapons are certainly no match for my creations, but they were both created by the same blacksmith at different times in his life.”
“I’m very interested in this blacksmith. I want to learn more about him, and for that, I need these weapons, each of which has its own history, including the story of its creator,” the Blacksmith said with undisguised curiosity.
“Well, Blacksmith, forget about the Sacred weapon then. Can you create something similar to them? Preferably swords,” Idan suggested.
The Blacksmith smiled and, after a moment’s thought, replied:
“You know, I have an idea.”
