Chapter 694: The beginning of the ceremony
Chapter 694: The beginning of the ceremony
At ten minutes to six in the evening, Anna, Ivette and Inessa finally appeared at the arch.
All three of them were dressed with special solemnity and, despite their age, looked simply magnificent. However, what attracted Idan the most was Anna, who looked so much like her daughter that he couldn’t help but imagine what Arabel herself would look like looking at her.
“You look amazing, darling,” Anna said, walking up to Idan. She couldn’t take her eyes off his beautiful appearance and was very happy for her daughter that she was marrying for love, and not under compulsion, as it was with her.
“My daughter is incredibly lucky,” Anna honestly admitted.
“What are you saying, I’m lucky to have her,” Idan replied with a smile. Up to this point, he had remained calm, but as the solemn moment approached, he began to feel excitement and trepidation.
“Oh, what wonderful young people have gathered here,” Anna said, addressing Arslan and other friends of the groom, and Ivette took the vacant seat next to Idan.
She hesitated for a moment, but then she smiled at Idan, looking at how big he had grown and how beautiful he looked in his wedding suit. Knowing how charming his fiancee was, Ivette couldn’t help but admit that they were perfect for each other.
She would like to say many kind words and apologize once again for the fact that she was not always the mother that all children longed to see from their parents. But on such a significant day, she didn’t want to spoil the mood by raising these issues.
“You look absolutely gorgeous,” Ivette said softly, and no matter how much she wanted to hug him, the guilt of not being able to give him the love that mothers give their children held her back.
While she was hesitating, Idan came up to her and hugged her.
“Thank you,” he thanked Ivette for everything she and Adam had done for him, despite the fact that he was not their own son.
It was enough that Ivette couldn’t hold back her tears and hugged him back.
Watching her son’s conversation with her younger sister, Inessa couldn’t help but smile. However, behind that smile, there was a slight envy for her sister and even a nascent anger at her husband.
After all, it was because of him that she could not see how their son grew up without knowing about her existence.
Yvette released Idan with a smile and, wiping away her tears, made room for her older sister, who did not dare to approach because of her doubts.
However, pulling herself together, she approached Idan and, standing in front of him, realized once again that her son had really turned into a wonderful young man. Not knowing how to choose the right words, she decided to repeat her sister’s words.
“You look absolutely gorgeous…” she said, and after a moment’s hesitation, she added, “My son.”
Idan, upon hearing his birth mother’s words, replied with a faint smile. A few days couldn’t completely replace the years when they didn’t know about each other. He still couldn’t get used to the idea of having two mothers.
But despite all this, Idan managed to squeeze out a smile and said, “Thank you.”
For Inessa, that was all she needed at that moment. Her mood lifted, and she smiled sincerely, looking forward to the upcoming ceremony with excitement.
A few minutes after the meeting, Anna, Ivette, and Inessa all moved inside the barrier.
They were greeted by a gentle and quiet melody played by several snow-white beasts on instruments under the guidance of a Tamer. Many of the guests had already taken their seats and were still in a state of shock from what they saw.
Only the Nanny’s puppet behaved calmly, looking after the three little babies — Izzy, Rizzy and the son of Irene and Arslan, Aran.
Rizzy, who had recently demanded and had her fill of Idan’s blood, behaved calmly, as if she had already begun to realize what was happening around her. She watched them all, looking from one customer to the next, while the other two toddlers, eyes closed, dozed off to soothing music.
Anna and her two sisters, full of surprise and excitement, took their seats, which had been prepared especially for them.
Idan, accompanied by four friends, approached the altar and stood waiting for the arrival of the bride.
He looked with a smile at Lucinda, who, dressed in priestess’s robes like a Saint, stood at the altar, ready to perform the wedding ceremony.
Idan remembered Lucinda’s words that she had said just recently:
“While I was living among the inhabitants of the lower realm, I played the role of a priestess and conducted several marriages among ordinary mortals during this time, so this is not the first time for me.”
“So it’s an honor for me to be the one who will perform the wedding ceremony for my younger sister Arabel and you, Idan.”
As time passed, Idan began to feel a little uneasy.
As well as outside the barrier, the heavenly bodies inside it have already begun to tilt towards the horizon, filling everything with the magical colors of sunset.
Idan couldn’t wait to see Arabel. He still couldn’t believe that this day had come so quickly and suddenly.
He became even more excited when he remembered the rings. Not knowing if they were ready or not, he began to look for the Blacksmith and Kristina among the crowd.
When Idan found and met Kristina’s gaze, he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw how she nodded back at him. Now there was only one question: when and how would he get the rings?
But he was soon distracted from his thoughts when the space inside the arch trembled, and the white beasts, under the guidance of the Tamer, began to play a new melody, announcing the appearance of the bride, accompanied by her father.
Two figures came out of the arch.
One of them was Richard in an elegant black suit.
And the other was the one Idan had been waiting for all this time, Arabel, in a dazzling bride outfit.
Idan’s breath caught in his throat at the sight of Arabel.
