Chapter 739: How did you recognize me?

Chapter 739: How did you recognize me?

Waking up closer to lunch, Arabel took a leisurely bath, cleaned herself up and, not forgetting to take a pill, left the bedroom of the “Family Home”.

They had only spent two nights in this bedroom, but Arabel was already beginning to love this secluded spot. No one could get in here except her and her husband, and certainly no one could spy on her or interfere with her sleep.

Arabel, having returned to the Kingdom, only now noticed that all the preparations for the wedding — the decorations of the house, snow-white flowers, fog and other beauties – had disappeared, and the Kingdom had returned to its usual appearance.

Fearing that her mother would catch her again and start asking questions about their nightlife, she hesitated a bit, opened an Access Portal and left the Kingdom.

Arabel still had unfinished business in the Capital, and before their Guild moved and finally focused on the northeastern part of the Federation, she was going to deal with these issues.

Arabel appeared in an alley not far from the Moonshade Pies eatery.

Overcome with curiosity, she put on a {Ghost Mask} and, taking on a different appearance, went to the diner to make sure that the “chef girl” was all right.

This was Arabel’s third visit to this place, and each time, the smell of cooking seemed to get more and more pleasant to her.

“Apparently, the girl is gaining experience quickly.”, — Arabel thought as she walked inside.

Arabel had no time to look around when the waitress approached her.

“Welcome,” she greeted, but before Arabel could offer a table, a familiar, emotionless voice reached Arabel.:

“She’s with me.”

Arabel flinched slightly in surprise and fright.

Following the voice, she saw a familiar black-haired girl in the very place where she had talked with Idan yesterday.

To Arabel’s surprise, the table in front of Darika was completely filled with orders, and she devoured all the food with great pleasure without stopping.

“How did she recognize me again?” asked Arabel, looking at Darkia.

She was wearing a {Ghost Mask} and purposely took on a completely different appearance from the one she had used before. Arabel was sure that no one would be able to recognize her in this guise, but to her great fear, Darkia recognized her instantly.

Just like yesterday, Darkia was wearing black sunglasses, and Arabel found it difficult to catch her eye.

“I’m with her,” Arabel said to the waiting waitress, walked over to Darkia’s table and sat down next to her.

“Hello, hello,” — Darkia said with her mouth full.

“Hi,” Arabel replied, and couldn’t resist asking, “How did you recognize me?”

“Heh,” — Darkia grinned, swallowing her food. “You almost became mine, and I got more than just your memories and I know everything about you. I’ve also acquired something else, and thanks to that, no matter how hard you try to disguise yourself, I’ll recognize you even in a crowd of people.”

Darkia’s confession sent shivers down Arabel’s spine.

“Is this really true?” Arabel asked the System in fright.

[This System cannot be 100% sure, but there is a high probability that the Dark System is telling the truth. It will take some time for this System to figure out how the Dark System manages to figure out the Host,” was the System’s response, somewhat reducing Arabel’s anxiety.

“Arabel Morgan,” — Darkia called, startling Arabel out of her reverie.

“Let’s make a deal,” Darkia suggested.

“I know that you came here for that girl who cooks these delicious dishes,” she continued.

“Of course you know that, because you just admitted that you have all my memories,” Arabel replied.

“Is that why you’re here?” Arabel asked, noticing Darkia’s silence.

“Partly, and partly I just wanted to eat,” — Darkia replied and started eating again.

“You can recruit and take this girl,” Darkia said after finishing eating one of the dishes. Arabel frowned, sensing something was amiss.

“Don’t worry, I haven’t done anything with this girl, this System Host, yet, although her cooking skills are tempting for me to take her in,” Darkia hastened to add, noticing Arabel’s change of mood.

“Then why?” Arabel asked doubtfully.

“Well, I said I want to make a deal,” Darkia replied. “I’ll let you recruit and take the girl, and in return, I want you and your husband to let some people into your Kingdom.”

“No,” Arabel flatly refused as soon as she heard Darkia’s suggestion.

“Not so fast, Arabel Morgan,” Darkia said with a slight smile. “Don’t rush to refuse.”

“No matter what you say, my husband and I will not let anyone related to you into our house,” Arabel said firmly.

After a short pause, Darkia started laughing.

“Let me guess, are you afraid that there might be someone infected with me among these people?” she asked with a wide smile, not hiding her amusement.

Arabel didn’t answer, but Darkia could tell by the look on her face that she had hit the nail on the head.

“You know, Arabel,” Darkia continued, still laughing. “If I want to, I don’t need your consent or your husband’s consent. I will quietly find a way to enter your kingdom when I need it.”

“Are you threatening?” asked Arabel, and her eyes flashed pinkish-purple fire.

“Oh, come on, you won’t scare me,” Darkia said. “You know it’s very difficult to kill me.”

“I don’t think it would be wise for you to make me your enemy, because I sincerely wish to be on friendly terms with you.”

“And I’ll say right away that your concerns are well—founded,” Darkia continued. “The people I want you to accept are a family of four. Only one of them is the Host of the System, the rest are ordinary mortals.”

“But this Host has a special meaning for me,” Darkia added, surprising Arabel.

“A special Host?” asked Arabel, not quite believing her ears. As you know from the words of their own System, the Dark System simply uses Hosts as tools.

However, Arabel was truly shocked by the System’s next words.

[It’s probably about the zero Host of the Dark System, the one who awakened it.]
