Chapter 750: It didn't seem so funny anymore
"So, Idan, do you still intend to sign a contract with Elira?" asked Milica as they approached the lava lake itself.
As soon as they crossed the border of the Forbidden Zone that separated the lake from the rest of Limbo, the temperature began to rise rapidly with every step they took.
Due to her high rank, Milica felt quite comfortable, and the elevated temperature did not cause her any inconvenience.
As for Idan, his affinity with the element of fire, which was his first and foremost, made this place just perfect for him. Staying here strengthened him, making him stronger and speeding up his recovery abilities. His body literally rejoiced at the abundance of the fiery element in the air, greedily absorbing it.
Like the Forest of Doppelgangers, this Forbidden Zone was divided into three layers: outer, middle, and central.
During his previous two visits, Idan had always been on the outer layer of the Lava Lake, which consisted of vast, empty, dried-up shores and only the edge of the Lava Lake itself, where he had bathed twice.
"To be honest, I doubt that Elira will agree to sign a contract with me," Idan expressed his opinion.
"Then what about the Lava Dragon baby?" asked Milica, without voicing her thoughts. She agreed that Elira seemed like a good option for Idan to sign a second contract, but knowing her third disciple, Milica mentally shook her head.
"I wouldn't mind, but I have my doubts about this little dragon," Idan replied, also not optimistic about the possibility of taming it.
"Hmm... what's wrong with this little dragon?" asked Milica.
"I'm not sure yet, but it seems to me that this little dragon has something to do with the Supervisor of this Forbidden Zone, and I don't think he'll let me just take it away," Idan expressed his suspicion, recalling the information obtained through his {Eye of Identification} ability.
As Idan remembered, the {Eye of Identification} was unable to accurately determine the race of this little dragon.
"If it doesn't work out with the dragon, I'm sure we can find a suitable fire creature here," Milica encouraged, and Idan silently nodded in agreement with her.
Soon, they came to the edge of the Lava Lake where they had been last time.
"Hmm..." Milica looked around, but she didn't notice anyone's presence nearby.
"She didn't come back?" asked Idan.
"Yes, and it's quite strange. We agreed that she would come back here right after she looks around here," Milica frowned, inspecting the territory once more. "If there's no one here, I asked her to wait until someone comes to pick her up."
"Maybe she just lost track of time," Idan suggested.
"Hardly. I made it clear to her that she can't stay here for long, and if she doesn't make it back to one of the three cities or back to the Forest of Doppelgangers, she'll be swallowed up by this place."
"And how are we going to find her now?" whispered Idan, peering into the vast expanse of the Lava Lake, which seemed to have no end.
Suddenly, a slight smile appeared on his face.
"I think I know how to find her," he said to Milica.
"Oh, and how?" asked Milica, not hiding her curiosity.
"Let's try it," Idan suggested, and without taking off his clothes, he stepped into the Lava Lake, plunging into it up to his waist.
"Great," he exclaimed with joy, realizing that his improved uniform was still as effective as before, and that the high temperature of the lava was no problem for it.
"I wonder how it will match with my Spirit Form?" Idan thought and activated his Flame Spirit Form.
His black hair instantly turned red, and then turned into real flames, and his skin turned a reddish-orange hue.
"Amazing!" exclaimed Idan, noticing that his uniform had not only not disappeared, but had also slightly changed, adapting to his new uniform.
If the clothes he wore before were the uniforms of his and Arabel's Guild, now they were more open, allowing the flames of his body to burn freely.
"Finally, I'm not naked," — Idan rejoiced that he would no longer fight in the nude, assuming his Spirit Form.
"Very interesting clothes," — Milica remarked, looking at Idan's outfit with curiosity. "Did you get it from a mysterious store?"
"Yes, Master," Idan nodded.
"Hmm... I should also buy something similar," — Milica decided.
Although it didn't bother her much that she was almost naked when she transformed into the Lightning Spirit Form, as her Spirit Form was a bit like Arabel's Spirit Form and had no revealing areas, she still wouldn't mind wearing clothes that could cover her attractive body a little.
"What a wonderful feeling," Idan spread his arms, feeling his body absorb the powerful stream of fire energy surrounding him. It was such a pleasant feeling that it swept over him like intoxication.
After he got used to the feeling a bit, Idan finally pulled himself together and looked around.
"Well, where is he?" he asked, peering into the glowing lava.
"You mean the little dragon?" guessed Milica.
"Yes, I thought he would come to me, just like in the past, especially after I treated him to Coco's favorite candies," Idan replied.
Idan, responding, made it clear to Milica what his plan was. She nodded, agreeing that this plan could work.
After waiting for a while, they noticed a surge of lava in the distance and saw something rapidly approaching them.
As this creature got closer, they recognized it as a familiar small body that was sliding through the lava at great speed, tearing it apart. They couldn't help but smile.
However, their joy quickly turned to alarm when they realized that the little dragon was not slowing down as it approached them.
"Hey, hey, hey!" exclaimed Idan. The dragon's speed was incredibly fast, and the most terrifying thing was that there was a huge wave of lava trailing behind it, which was getting bigger by the moment.
It didn't seem so funny anymore.
"Damn!" cursed Idan, realizing that the little dragon was heading towards him. He didn't shy away, preparing to face it head-on.
And indeed, the little dragon, having almost arrived, emerged from the lava at great speed directly at Idan, spreading its four small paws with sharp claws, flapping its four wings and looking at him with slightly crazy eyes. His mouth was full of sharp little teeth, and he was salivating profusely.
BAM!
The little dragon slammed into Idan with the strength of a Platinum-ranked creature. Even in his Spirit Form, Idan couldn't resist the impact and flew back, plunging into the lava, and a huge wave of red-hot magma covered him from above.
Meanwhile, Milica, using her abilities, jumped high up, escaping from a wave of lava that flooded a significant part of the shore.
