Chapter 798: Samantha

Neither Samantha nor Arabel said a word until Samantha's father returned. Arabel didn't know what to say, and Samantha, Arabel noticed, didn't want to talk to her.

When a middle-aged man with brown hair like Samantha's appeared, a teenager of about fourteen, who looked very much like his father, appeared from his room.

Despite the fact that this family was Arabel's relatives, she felt the distance between them and was not very surprised by this. Only Pamela was more or less friendly towards her.

Seeing that Arabel was deep in thought, Idan walked over to her and sat down next to her. It was only then that she noticed her husband, and although she was surprised at first, she soon gave him a sweet smile.

"Wasn't my wife waiting for my return?" Idan asked.

Instead of answering, Arabel took him in her arms and kissed him gently.

When they pulled away from each other after a while, Idan noticed that Arabel's behavior was unusual and very different from her usual mood.

"What's bothering you so much, Belle?" he asked, taking her cold hands in his and warming them with his warmth.

Seeing that her concern was noticed, Arabel stopped smiling and sighed.

"Today I went after the "zero" Host of the Dark System," Arabel confessed, and Idan's playful mood immediately changed to a serious one.

"Did something happen during this visit?" Idan asked.

"No, nothing happened," Arabel hastened to add. "Can you imagine that this "zero" Host of the Dark System is not some unknown person, but someone I know and even a distant relative."

This revelation shocked Idan a little, making him frown and think.

"Her name is Samantha, and she's my second cousin on my mother's side," Arabel continued.

Arabel then began with a distant account of the Astor family, which she knew about. She said that her grandmother, being a member of the Astor family, married her grandfather, a member of the Morgan family, in order to establish and strengthen ties between the two families.

As far as Arabel knows, the two families have been successfully cooperating and developing for several years. However, after some time, a conflict arose between them, and as a result, the Morgan family absorbed the entire business and influence of the Astor family.

"I do not know exactly what happened then, and I do not remember my grandmother, as she was no longer alive by the time we were born," Arabel said. "But since then, the Astor family has held a grudge against the Morgan family."

"The first time I met Samantha was when Arslan and I were transferred to a private school attended by Arslan's ex—fiancee, who was found by our family," Arabel continued. "Although we were in different classes, because Samantha was Victoria's best friend, we saw each other a lot."

"If anything, Victoria is the name of Arslan's fiancee," Arabel added, so that Idan would understand who she was talking about.
