Chapter 983: An impending threat.

Chapter 983: An impending threat.

“She will need time to recover from the Trial.”, — Arabel thought, watching Irene intently.

Her current state was somewhat similar to Arabel’s after the first two Ascension Trials. During the first Trial, Arabel was greatly influenced by her Ice Valkyrie bloodline. And after the second Trial, she was affected by the side effect of the Energy of Madness, which became the catalyst for launching the Trial.

“In this case, Irene was strongly influenced by the element of void.”

“Therefore, for every Awakened One, the Third Ascension Trial will act differently and depend on the catalyst.”

“It seems that what Dan and I faced after our Ascension Trials is not so unique,” she concluded.

Leaving Irene in the care of Yvette and Arslan, Arabel turned her attention to the chat of the {Whisper Talisman}, where the result of Irene’s Test was actively discussed.

Everyone was interested in whether Irene had achieved success, whether she had broken through to the Platinum rank, and what acquisitions she had received as a result.

After thinking for a moment, Arabel decided to share all the risks associated with the upcoming Third Ascension Trial, and urged her not to rush through it.

All the owners of the Rare System, such as Arslan, Yulaya, Hazel, Hailey, Felicia, Milena, Ren and Leo, listened to Arabel’s warning.

As the Disaster continued, some of them decided to take their time and prepare.

However, others, such as Hailey and Ren, were confident in their abilities and eager to test themselves.

The only thing that stopped them was the lack of the necessary catalyst to start the trial.

It was the eighth day since the Anomalies appeared and the ninth since the Disaster began.

The third Disaster proved to be the longest of all the previous ones. No one could say for sure how long it would last.

Reaching the peak of the Anomalies gave hope that the end was near. However, Arabel and Idan doubted that everything would end so simply.

After the issue of Irene’s Ascension Trial was settled, the expedition groups continued to explore the middle layer of Anomalies.

In the course of their research, the groups encountered many different evolved beasts, each of which already had an affinity for one of the elements.

Most importantly, not all the beasts fiercely defended the deposits of resources needed for development. Some of them were smart enough and, realizing that they could not win, retreated in groups.

The groups did not pursue those who retreated, but killed those who resisted and extracted Beast Soul Flowers from them, after which they stored their carcasses for later use as materials.

The meat and some organs of these beasts were very useful. They could be given to Sofia so that she could cook her delicious and nutritious meals. And some parts could be used for alchemy and forging.

But not all the beasts were killed. Some of them that attracted the attention of the Awakened Ones were tamed and even sent to the Kingdom.

For another day, many different gold-ranked beasts from all four anomalies were sent to the Kingdom. Each of them had their own unique affinity with the elements, which greatly expanded the choice for those who follow the Path of a beast tamer and have not yet found a suitable pet.

On the ninth day after the Anomalies appeared, Idan, sensing the approach of the seeds of law on the Fire Anomaly, left his group, leaving the leadership to Nathan and Hazel.

In the West, Esma, having transferred responsibility for the group to Eulalia and Rachel, flew into the Central Layer of the Storm Anomaly alone.

In the North, Lucinda, entrusting the care of the group to Arabel’s Avatar, also left them, heading into the heart of the Ice Anomaly. By this time, Arslan had returned from the Kingdom and joined the expedition, leaving Irene and her son in the care of Yvette.

In the East, Lina, having handed her fox cub into Aliya’s caring hands, looked at Nemo, smiled at him, spread her wings and, turning into one of the many lightning bolts, rushed to the Central layer of the Thunderstorm Anomaly.

“One more day,” Arabel whispered, watching as all four of the originally planned expedition members moved towards the Central Layer.

“The seeds will appear in a day, and then everything will begin,” she thought.

Milena, standing nearby, also followed the group’s actions with attention.

During these two days spent in the middle layer, the expedition gathered a lot of information and a significant amount of resources. Everyone was now eagerly awaiting the news from the Central Layer. It was interesting to find out how different it was from the average, as well as to get information about the seeds of the law themselves.

Everyone only knew the name of this resource, but no one had any idea what it really looked like.

“Woo-woo-woo,” suddenly an excited little fox appeared in the living room, followed by a second, darker fox cub. Both of them quickly approached Arabel and non-stop tried to say something.

“What? Do you feel the strange behavior of space near the capital?” Thanks to her connection with them, Arabel quickly understood what the cubs, who have an affinity for the element of Space, were talking about.

Although Arabel herself had an affinity for this element, her understanding was very shallow. No sooner had she realized this news than the door of the house flew open, and a blindfolded beauty with large buffers that swayed from side to side flew in.

“Essora?” Arabel asked, turning to the sudden visitor.

“Leader…” said Essora excitedly and reported, “I can feel the fluctuations of the element of time…”.

“Not far from the capital, you say? In this direction?” Suddenly, everyone present heard the familiar voice of Sierra, who appeared in the living room.

“Don’t tell me you’re…” Before Arabel could ask a question, Sierra interrupted her.

“Yes, recently I felt strong fluctuations of the element of darkness in the very place that the others are pointing to.”

Arabel frowned.

“Indeed,” — Milena joined in, who, like Arabel, felt nothing, but decided to check the information after everyone pointed in a certain direction. “Besides the fluctuations of the element of Darkness, I can also feel the fluctuations of the element of Light.”

“Leo,” — Arabel said.

“Got it,” Leo realized without further ado what was required of him.

While everyone in the Kingdom was eagerly awaiting news of what was happening near the capital, in the Fiery Anomaly, a small group of creatures with not the best intentions approached the group that Idan had left.
