Chapter 1494: Unexpected Reinforcements

"My lord!" The soldiers panicked, their momentum halting for a moment. They never thought their lord would be blown away this far. In addition, their lord had been surrounded by so many demons without anyone by his side.

Even the captain and Alicia panicked.

"No way! Is that Demon Saint Alexander?"

Alexander stood on top of a demon without being attacked. The ancient demon alone was already a problem, but with a spirit transcendence in the mix, it would be impossible to do anything.

Alexander looked around. He had two options. The first was to kill Anna’s brother, while the second was to destroy his army. As soon as one of them collapsed, the other would follow soon.

Considering the situation, Anna would be furious if she found out what happened to her brother. This whole time, he couldn’t be reckless due to the lack of numbers, so this opportunity was practically a godsend.

As long as he crushed everything here, Noel would be furious and do something reckless. Originally, they just wanted to focus on Anna, but they never thought that Dylan would come all the way here. There was no way he would waste this chance.

Dylan waved his glaive multiple times, trying to push the demons away. However, the demons surrounded him with overwhelming numbers.

When he jumped into the air, several demons leaped toward him. Even if Dylan could hit several of them, just one demon landing a hit on him was enough.

Even though Dylan had the Spirit Transformation, he would fall sooner or later after exhausting all his stamina. This was why Alexander intentionally hit him into the center of the demon army.

No matter which way he went, there was no way Dylan could survive.

On the other hand, Alicia instantly took over the army and shouted, "That’s your supreme commander. All troops, onward!"

Thanks to the high morale, the soldiers didn’t hesitate to follow her and clash with the demons.

However, they hit the demons from the side earlier, which meant cutting off their momentum. This time, they went directly against the current, so the ferocity of the demons became two or even three times more intense.

The clash was brutal, and without Dylan taking the helm, they didn’t have much strength to break through.

"Haaaa!" The captain roared and took the charge but failed to replicate what Dylan had achieved. At this rate, the army’s momentum would be stopped, and they would end up getting swallowed by the demon army.

Dylan could only grit his teeth, thinking his misjudgment had cost them everything. If only he had considered the possibility of Alexander joining the battle, he might have changed his strategy.

"Hahahahaha. Unlike your brother-in-law or your father, you are nothing!" Alexander laughed. "You have fought the demons so much that you haven’t experienced a lot of humans’ cunningness."

He was telling the truth. Due to the exile, Dylan had been with the kingdom’s army the whole time. Although he wasn’t in the demon banner army, he was in charge of the border defense, fighting the demons for days or even weeks at a time.

As for the fight against humans, Kevin Stargaze had been the one handling it. In fact, Kevin was trying to save Dylan from this problem by exiling him to the army.

However, it ended up becoming his worst mistake, which would cost him his life.

"You are going to die. I wonder what your dear sister or your father will say when they see your body getting chewed by demons in front of their eyes?" Alexander smirked.

Dylan couldn’t imagine the anger and despair they would face because of him. He regretted it. Even though he had been learning a lot of things ever since he returned, it was nowhere near enough.

Even Noel paired him with Tristan instead of Noel himself. It was because his skill was only around Tristan’s level.

"Kh. Because of me..." Dylan started to lose hope, failing to find any path to recovery.

If Dylan lost his morale, he would be easier to kill. Alexander decided to kill him instead of crushing the army.

"Then, I will take your life." Alexander grinned as he leaped toward Alexander, planning to deliver the killing blow personally.

Dylan gathered everything he had, hoping that this strike would be enough to stop him from dying.

"I won’t die so easily! I return so that I can survive!" Dylan roared as he swung his glaive.

Their clash produced an even bigger shock wave than their initial clash, blowing away some demons around them. However, Dylan could see that Alex gradually overwhelmed him.

’Kh... Am I going to die here?’ An image of his sister, his mother, and his father crying in front of his grave flashed in his mind. It was such a sad image that it felt like his heart was about to explode.

But there was no way for him to escape his death, except for the fact that Anna had prepared something else for this attack.

"Imperial Style Spear, Raging Ocean!"

"!!!" Both Dylan and Alex widened their eyes, feeling extraordinary energy coming from the sky.

When they raised their heads, they saw a spear flying straight at Alex.

Alex stomped the ground and forcefully changed the direction of his punch and struck the spear with everything he had left.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have enough time to prepare for the attack. And a portion of his energy had been absorbed by Dylan.

The spear had a blue flowing energy as if it were water instead of energy. The energy spiraled like a drill and pierced through Alexander’s fist, destroying his thumb, his forefinger, and a portion of his palm. If not for his swift change, his entire hand would have been obliterated.

The spear’s residual power exploded upon reaching the ground, blowing Alexander away.

"Aaaahhh!" Alexander gritted his teeth as he saw a figure landing at the back of the spear.

"You are..." Alexander didn’t expect this person to have the power to oppose him. "...Incetta Sherveana!"

Incetta simply jumped off her spear as the latter turned into a sword. She then swung it down, sending forth a sword strike while shouting, "It’s Shervina, you idiot!"
